Hi Dartron, sorry to hear of your poor return. I'm sorry to say that your issue originates from your entry point. I hold 30K shares bought in tranches only when the price dipped. I think I've held for about two years but the sale should see me +15p per share. Most of my renewables trusts shares were bought with dividend returns from ORIT, UKW, SEIT, HEIT, AERS and NESF. SEIT/AERS/HEIT all got sold on wind-down/take-over and moved into the others which I still hold. Recently I added TRIG and I'm waiting for a first divi. I will vote against the sale to Drax but I doubt that will carry any weight. I should add that my +15p includes my dividends as I adjust my holding cost based on income recovered. This may not yet be all over. In the case of HEIT [Harmony] another bidder came in after I'd sold and the price rose significantly. In this case, the bid is so close to NAV that I suspect another bidder is less likely but... you never know! Good luck to you with your other investments. GLA

Not happy with events but the price at least gives some profit in my case. Drax did this with HEIT and then another bidder came in and the SP shot up. Could happen here but all my renewables [NESF, UKW, ORIT, TRIG] have all responded in higher SP. I'll vote against the deal but it's usually the case that the insti's are quite happy with a one-off profit. Selling Britain by the Pound as Genesis said..... I'm going to review after the divi's in but likely I'll just go overweight on UKW at a suitable entry point. One small upside is that I would accelerate my divi timetable by doing that, UKW paid-out on 29/05. GLA

I'm expecting a lot of selling tomorrow and onwards with an SP below 40p possible.... I'll fill m'boots there as it is still a ten percent yield even with a 1p/quarter dividend. There are many who will not be happy at loss of income I think. There is also upside for the div in future as shown below and if the new business plan really does grow asset base. GLA

Yes, my apologies. Dividend declared and at expected level. I'd sold down a third of my holding due to uncertainty after the strategic review announcement but I reinstated it first thing this morning. BSIF has been one of my most rewarding holds and I'm optimistic now after recent news. I was perturbed by the taking on of more debt as it's not something I would think fits with imminent sale of the business as a whole. With the unaudited NAV above £1 on todays release the board would be failing in their fudiciary duties if any sale was at a 20% discount making current SP look pretty secure. They also restated that there is no guarantee of a completed transaction which seemed to me more clearly stated. You can see from what recently happened at Aquilla [AERS/AERI] that these wind down/sales can get very messy. My holding value is a bit messed-up by this reversal on my part however 2.25p in the pipeline should get me back to broad B/E. I've added across the board on Renewable Investment trusts in recent weeks, I'm optimistic that there is under-valuation across this sector.... Energy need is eternal. GLA

Folks, last dividend was declared 26-01-26. It's supposed to delivered quarterly which implies around 26-04-26 allowing for a 28 day February, it's defo due. My concern is that with a potential sale of the business on the cards are they going to announce sale and by the way, sorry but no div. I also hold ORIT, UKW, TRIG and NESF. I did hold SEIT too, and they delayed their standard declaration date by some margin which was promptly followed by their announcement of the plan to dispose of the business. This divi is important for me as ~2p will set my holding price below SP [obviously that could change] but it gives me a fair chance of exit with profit justifying the investment here. I also previously held HEIT and AERS but the uncertainty on winding-up is not what I'm looking for in my portfolio, I need regular/reliable income from dividends. The portfolio has been built by compounding the dividend returns from these higher yielding RIT's. I'm not deramping, just concerned. GLA

Where the heck is the divi announcement? They are usually a few days after UKW but no sign yet. Any ideas??

So I check in now and again beyond the five year hold. Wee Willie keeps on delivering the disappointments. Cloughton dead, 5%+ of Wressle production given away, funding raise on no delivery and no sign of life on Eire. EG could be any day but ...... on past performance? I keep being tempted to just fold my hand on this one as my rational mind progressively over-rides my heart. So much promise and so much failure. Good luck to all here but I'm not sure there's anything rational about holding out much longer, maybe a update and some transparency might help. GLA

Hi tmnky, these discontinuations do go through. You should look at Harmony [HEIT] and Aquilla [AERS] where I saw discontinuations arise. I bought into HEIT when the sp was on the floor, anyone who stayed in got a happy ending as the shares went from 40p-ish to over 90p when two bidders arrived. I was also in Aquilla as the euro denomination of dividend looked attractive, however, the yield turned out dire. Their discontinuation is still dragging on with a highly reduced, feeble dividend as a result. Anyone holding these IT's needs to carefully check the voting as many have inadvertently voted for discontinuation by ticking "Yes to all" rather than reading all the motions.

In general the investment institutions / PE etc are those who vote for discontinuation when they see more value in the portfolio of assets than the SP reflects. They don't care if it's just a quick profit one-off rather than long term returns. I would say I hope this does not happen here, NESF is one of my best income shares. I also hold UKW, BSIF, SEIT and ORIT though I may depart there soon due to the dire yield. I was holding FSFL however the SP rose to a level where I could have 3 quarters worth of div if I sold at the elevated SP so off I toddled. It's hopefully wise to distribute holding across several of these trusts/funds/companies to minimise risk in my view. Best of luck to all...

Yes VL, I accept time lines could slip and I'll still be invested then. I have though set a "no more pain" date in September where I will sell, regardless of price, if there is no compelling reason to remain. I'm afraid the optimistic promises just don't cut it anymore. For even more balance though, the non-buying by the board/exec could be explained in that they have material information which could positively impact the SP. Buying in these circumstances would constitute "insider trading" which is illegal in the UK. So there are reasons why in both scenario's [going bust/farming-out] insiders are not buying shares, or at least declaring anything in this regard. Equally, the radio-silence applies in both scenario's. So, until Will deigns to inform the owners of the company [that's us by the way Will] as to the company's status it's obvious that there will be speculation + or -. I don't think that viewing all through rose-tinted glasses is really helpful when there are many novice investors about. I hope for success for all invested here but you will detect I'm a bit jaundiced with regards to EOG. Best to all LTH's

Or, just for balance, the lack of share buying is a doubt that the company will be trading in a few months time without a farm-in. That would also, kind of fit with the desperate "pay-day loan" which loses 15-50% of our revenues for a $500K cash input. No hint from WH that he'll take some of his £30K per month as shares to conserve cash. I've been invested here for over 5 years, I'm loathe to be negative however difficult the SP is to bear [1.35p average, sold 300K shares about a year ago and got 1.05p/sh, hated doing it/glad I did] but I had fears of this when WH was appointed. That's based on his past track record. I greatly doubt that current income matches our overheads, maybe somebody with accounting credentials could crunch the numbers. So all of this now rests on a farm-out/in for either EG or Eire. WH assures us it is by end of Q2/H1 so it looks like a big week for Willy next week.

Thanks most defo for the heads up here Trek, the recent SP moves generate a warm glow even though I [against my own advice] I topped-up a bit more yesterday. Still in the 14% yield range..... nice. I also hold ORIT, NESF, UKW and added FSFL - almost all of these are showing equivalent rises to SEIT in recent days/weeks. I've built these holdings over the last three years with reinvested divi as the driver but was wondering if the SP would ever respond to the stunning yield. It's clear these trusts have been very out of favour with the wider market but I think we are seeing a general reconsideration here and with all the renewable trusts. I'm here for income so I will only sell in-extremis. I doubt I'll be able to add here below 44p after XD, I think the SP is remarked. GLA

Well it was nice to see my portfolio showing VOD blue for the last three days.... then the Orange Clown came to town.... close and near breakeven pre divi arrival. Just over 78p B/E. Next div arrival takes me to ~76p B/E so there is a trace of hope... I think we should hold at 72p-74p post XD, bull market might go 82-84p if the recent rises get amplified. My guess anyway, GLA.

Well Trek, thanks for the pointer but missed the boat on this one as it went up 5p this morning NOW up 7p.... shame, as I took a good look yesterday and was likely to begin a accumulation. Bought over at the Energy Efficiency outfit as a 14.3% yield looked pretty attractive - price fell 1.4p after my buy. Currently looking at rejigging holding distributions however the Orange Clown appeared again.....

VL, - I follow Kosmos quite closely, I just read their Q1 report. I recall that the Exploration budget for '25 is $40million of which they have $10mil and have commitments for the rest. I think that suggesting they are farm-in candidates might be optimistic.

U, - I'm glad you have identified that EOG have custody of the magic-money-tree. Cloughton [40%] costing is >£1.5 mil [if they get really lucky with the Zechstein drilling] and more likely >2.5mil, 2 x wells on Wressle plus gas plant and site mods, £2mil plus++ at [30%]..... they have about £1mil in hand....

Hi Paul, thanks for that which mirrors to some degree my thinking at the moment.

I hold UKW, NESF and ORIT as I have a self imposed limit on how many shares I can hold in any one company. Although I can add UKW within this constraint they are more costly than FSFL with consequent lower yield, as I'm compounding with divi's expediting the yield accelerates the ISA growth. The NESF holding is at my maximum so it looks like FSFL at it's current SP/yield is first choice. I agree that UKW looks more solid but with the diversification I already have I've mitigated some risk anyway [I hope!] - thanks for your comment/perspective, ATB-GeoChem.

Thanks Foobar - I'd missed that one as I expected it to be early May. I must try harder! I'm torn between adding UKW or initiating a FSFL holding when divi's arrive. Loathe to add UKW above my mid, 108, but would appreciate any views on FSFL's past track record from LTH's. GLA
