That is strange and slightly concerning that he would buy so few at this bargain basement price; I have significantly more shares than that and I'm not rich. Regardless I still can't see why we should be concerned about what I consider to be such a good investment opportunity (now at a cheap price).
Today RNS, a director bought 279 shares, total value £198.93p, it must have cost more than that price to put out the RNS!
Doesn't exactly signal the director's confidence in the business, or understand how the company's money is spent.
Looks like we're back to testing all time lows. Appreciate energy prices have fallen, but its same level it was a month ago and share has taken another 15%+ hit.....
Surely very close. Wholesale electricity costs certainly cannot get much lower. It's sitting around the strike price of new wind farms.
Are we there yet?
Is it ethical? Research the slave trade in that area/culture. I was absolutely not just Europeans in the filthy business.
I see nothing specific, it's currently undervalued IMO, investors just looking for an entry point. It's an ethical business with potential to generate profits. Ticks the box for any green portfolio which are increasingly growing in popularity.
Certainly a nice ~5% jump today......what's triggered this?
I think we've hit the bottom
I'm with you @spindok, this is a long term investment for me and I'm looking to buy more in the future. However @Itron is correct, the economics don't seem very strong for investors at the moment.
I hope if Labour get in they'll do better regarding support. Anyway, I am continuing to buy slowly as it goes down; on a basic level I like the recent acquisition in Ireland (after backing out in Spain I am glad ORIT replaced this with something productive) and I believe clean energy has a bright future, but what do I know?
People are taking money off the table because a) They are skint b) No support for infra structure and energy from the government C) you can get 5-6 per cent in a building society...
Seems to be on a constant downward spiral..........where is the bottom?? What will it take to recover back up to the £1 region...
Much as I appreciate today's news, there's two very important pieces of information missing. How much are Microsoft paying and what is the cost of debt. I understand that I should DYOR but this RNS simply doesn't give enough information. I suspect that analysts can ask these questions and be much better informed which wouldn't be fair and against the one of the reasons why the RNS was set up.
It's probably good news.
ORIT is going to get Big.
~Octopus Renewables, a London-headquartered closed-ended investment company and FTSE 250 constituent, said it "believes there is now a compelling logic" to combine with AERI, saying the merger would "create one of the largest LSE-listed diversified renewable energy investment trusts".
Ha! I am - as long as I don't look at my valuation... :(
I don't understand the recent drift down (and especially the black run ski slope over the last few days). And I thought renewables were the way forward!
..then you'll be even happier with nearly 7%!?!
On target for 6.1% at current share price - i'm happy with that...
Not a massive dividend but its something
Thanks you too. Probably down to power price https://www.current-news.co.uk/octopus-renewables-infrastructure-trust-sees-nav-decrease-in-q1-2023/
Didn't think it would go below 90 but maybe time to add more. ATB
Hi gwilliams71,
I can't see anything specific to just ORIT. All the infrastructure investment trusts, and maybe particularly those focused on "renewables", seem to be going the same way. To name just a few, look also at 3IN, EGL, GSF, TRIG and UKW today and over the last few days. There's evidently something systemic going on, and whether it's just the high interest rates going on for much longer than originally hoped/expected, or whether it's something else as well, who knows?
Whatever, all the best, and let's hope the pain doesn't go on for too much longer!
Mike.
Price dropped below 90 - any reason? I can't see one
Just received my dividend; a few days late but re-invested in the stock, should compound nicely.
Holding a few of these now, bought at 99 and a little rise since. I do like quarterly divi. Luck to all - Geo
