That's why I took another 30K shares today. It's either crash n'burn or multibagger. I'm as cofident as I can be that they will be OK as the market comes good next year. An awful lot of O&G needed... GLA.
Bought a few, nice gas bias and known to be a well run operation. My BP divi's probably coming here for diversification. GLA - GeoChem.
Exploration, a >96 hour DST is classed as a EWT and very difficult to permit. I do DST's, waiting for one at the mo. A 24hr main flow period is about the most you can get a permit for presently without mountainous quantities of DEC/NSTA submissions. At the end of the day, this is likely a finder well and I doubt any DST is likely though Shell have pockets deep enough. I'll ask the well test boys if they know anything when I get to play with my toys on the well coming up. ATB - GeoChem.
Just bought here yesterday, timing eh? IF the Valaris 122 is the rig lined up for Pensacola it has just spudded a quite challenging CNS HP/HT on 'Edinburgh' for Shell & partners. I suspect the 120+ day programme here is the reason for the delay but time will tell. The 122 is pretty high spec for a SNS well. I'm quite encouraged by the potential of Pensacola after the Darroch find.... GLA - GeoChem.
My IG tranche is now through too. I emailed them repeatedly and worded a sterner message yesterday alluding to possible losses. It's the only major gripe I've had with IG so I'm putting this down as a one-off. I sold 30K at 3.5p last week to ensure that I can always say I made a profit out of BOR, previously I was B/E. I only took my rights allocation but I got them all, 25K shares. Now we can only hope that Obee-one gets somewhere with the assets. GLA all.
Tovoc, it's proppant....
https://glossary.oilfield.slb.com/en/terms/p/proppant
Trying to not be a pedant but the use of the other term has been bugging me every time you use it, in all other regards you are consistently correct. GP is correct, the gas is more valuable at present rates than oil production however EOG need to be able to sell it, hence need the pipeline. IMHO, the high gas price will persist through to next year. I stated a while ago that further investment in Wressle should be EOG's highest priority, it's cheap to do being onshore and production rates are outstanding, BP would describe it as a money printer.
I'm not a fan of the serenity deal when Wressle is under-exploited and I'm worried what might happen if Eire suddenly pop's into reality. Sidenote I was bemused by the reference in the last RNS that EOG hold two licences in Eire... I thought DNO grabbed theirs back... ATB - Geo.
Nice simple solution for Bernie/BP. Issue shares in 'RusPet' to shareholders making a separate entity company. Employ Russian staff through the newCo to run it and distribute the Rosneft profits less opex to the shareholders. Allow the shareholders in the newCo to make their own moral decisions on whether to hold/sell. No loss of value to shareholders and BP is removed from Russian entanglements. It's rather like Evraz were doing with Radvaskoye...
just my tuppence worth.
For any interested...

I'm hoping I've caught the divi record date but either way it's an interesting one.... and, it's BP related though my Lloyds are now b/e with divi..... !!
Just had a dig around for an alternative BP investment, and.... I've bought a 'sample' sized chunk of BP Prudhoe Bay Royalties [not-isa] in the US, complete punt but the yield looks interesting.... I'm an airhead on this one but, anyone else holding this or knowledge thereof? It's almost BP related!!!
Topped-up 10K shares am. I'm not expecting any major change here until next year. Major suppliers Vetco etc are building a two year wait list for wellheads and E&A activity only now getting hot. Once the capacity goes to a backlog there will be a marked pick-up for Plexus. Also, some projects are HP/HT, eg Jackdaw and new exploration too. There will be a lag but POS will see progress next year. Would be nice to see a divi next year... keep the faith.
Spights, yes, me too at 46p but pre-record date and awaiting 1.33p/sh divi in May[?]. Generally unexciting share that yields a circa 4% divi return. Part of my sector diversified dividend LT hold block of stock, which includes BP. In the ISA, of course. It's never been very fashionable as a share to hold, donket some say but it seems to be at a very investable share price to me at the mo. All the best Maam, Geo.

40thSB, that's a very good question. I hadn't considered that, however I'll be buying out of my 21-22 float and was then depositing my ISA block later, I wonder how that is treated? A very good pertinent question you have raised, thanks . Any CA's out there with a definitive answer on this?
WW, it was near impossible to farm this out while O&G prices were in the basement, the sudden change in prices now makes this [or a sale] very possible. To add to the product pricing, the lull in E&A [that's exploration/appraisal] since 2014 following on from 2007 [WW economic crash and consequent halt to E&A during that period] lead to a huge shortage of "drill ready" reserves around the world. Even the Levant basin, the worlds most exciting gas prone area, has only seen a handful of wells drilled. In short, if not now, it'll be never-ish, until the next time....etc.
FYI for all, I got a message from IG today to take up my offer shares so if you haven't heard better chase-up yers brokers...
ATB - GeoChem.
NSS22, afraid Sea Lion is out, the Argentinians would sanction operations in Argentina, Vaca Muerte / patagonia, so that dog don't hunt. Big push in the Levant, Cyprus looking good, gas near to Zohr, all that would be a fillip..... Regards - GeoChem.
Sidebar, I'm looking at Russia -20%, OP+20% net ZERO so holding LT and liking Divi, the market will eventually smell the coffee.
And I quote: "Is it wrong to laugh my ass off at the shares that were sold yesterday !!!
A lot of people have cost themselves a lot of money by short sighted profit grabbing."
I've always broadly respected your input on this forum but I found your comment above somewhat galling, as barnyards said, it's not a profit until it's in the bank and it's a lesson I have learned since starting share investing in the mid 1990's. I'm not "sensitive" about trading, generally I don't do it however on this stock it makes sense when the levels of volatility are as evident as they are now. As far as being a LTH, I am too, I first bought after the Darwin discovery and I've always held BOR shares since then, from as little as 2000 up to 300K shares. I think history tells us that this beastie spikes and I have always zeroed my holding cost in these periods and then built back holding at acceptable prices, my average WAS 1.05p/sh, it's now ~0.01p. I would fully accept that IF this comes off you'll be very wealthy, and good luck to you, but I am the custodian of my children's future affluence so my risk/gain exposure here is at an acceptable level for me. Greed, superiority and arrogance are unappealing qualities evident in your quote, regardless of which I wish you well and good fortune. Regards - GeoChem, [which I do, professionally, Gus].
Hey Anth72, I sold 20,000 shares at 3.01p on the 8th [just missed by seconds the 3.5p] netting me £600. Via open offer, I get 22,860 shares for £300. I suppose that gives you a LMAO moment and makes me the clown Einstein. I've traded the spikes with 20,000 shares a time here recently, my shares are pretty much free, all 160K [182,860] of them. - Regards.
