CYN represent a massive discount to NAV of 16% I see atm. I ask, why would someone buy BRCI at a 4% premium to NAV, when they can here at a discount to NaV and less likely of a bigger dividend cut than BRCI... Still watching here until 3rd or 4th week in Jan. Reuters did also repprt that miners / oil companies less likely to cut dividends due to them being able to take on more debt in lower interest environments. MYI has fallen to levels that I once saw back in 2009. Will be getting onboard very soon as its gone ex-divdend (-10p)
Yes I sold a private security business for 8 figures 10 years ago ,pushed the money into property on last down turn, bailing out of property now. Looking at your returns, you have done well , at 36 why are you looking for safe income . Agree totally on end of Jan to look at buying or end of april may also work. Best share I had last year was mac put in 15k pulled out 165k in an isa , it went nuts. Favourite trades at present ash ,pel sev and box I own roughly 2- 3% in each, worth a look but sell into any spike.
Thanks for clearing that up... So your one of them! (Zillionaires)Lol Well, I started with £10,000 in 1998 I believe, and now is worth £212,500 Iv been in stockmarkets for 18yrs, and Iv had a stockbroker with r&d on hand with Speirsjeffrey for 17yrs, now flying my wings and using what iv learnt from both them and other due diligences. Best pick I made on my own was RIO & BT.A in last 6yrs, when the world was literarly collapsing around us. Iv got funds I'm moving and need to take some risk away from stocks and put in it's or funds for the future(though I'm only 36). Going to stay on sidelines till 3rd week in Jan and see what happens to oilies, then buy more MYI, possibly JEMI, AAIF, PLI and BRCI. £5000 in each, that's the plan. It trades around 11% discount or so. I'd rather buy this as the dividend isn't way up over 10% like BRCI is, but if it were chopped in half its still good... Happy New Year and nice chatting...
I tend to invest very long term on my main investments, this will represent 1-2% of my spare capital, been investing for 30yrs plus , I buy bombed out assets then just hold them till they recover. I recently purchased £250k in each of the main 4 supermarkets , same with banks etc . This sector is bombed out also buying brci pli and ved if prices get down to my level.
You want an 8% yield, and that it be a keeper. Personally, that's asking for trouble. We have many headwinds ahead of us low oil prices, low interest rates, market rigging, bankism. Any stock or IT/fund over 7% is a very short term investment. We have RDSB,BP, GLEN, AAL, BLT who have either said they will fufill it for another year, one who have cut or suspended... I'd look at PLI, MYI, STS, possibly CLIG(7.7%, though overvalued) & AAIF. Do not put all your eggs in one basket, as we are in a different type of stockmarket, one that hasn't got any give to help governments out. Theyv drop rates from 5-6% to near zero. Maybe Negative rates is something that might be used, as the Chinese have come and bailed us out the last time. I so can't see em doing it again... Atb.
Discount around 11.48% at todays price 83.33p http://tools.morningstar.co.uk/uk/cefreport/default.aspx?SecurityToken=E0GBR01PNO]2]0]FCGBR$$ALL
looking to enter on next downturn at 100k minium investment , for long term holding , need 8%+ yield for a keeper. Is any one else in here.
John Baron has recently added this share to most of his portfolios on his website, obviously anticipating a reversal after the price fell to lowest point reached during the financial crisis. Discount has shrunk to around 10% but the yield is attractive at over 6%.
Valuation: Discount in line with longer-term averages The discount, at 15.6%, is in line with its three- and five-year averages of 15.0% and 15.6% respectively. It currently trades at a small discount to the sector average, despite a very strong long-term performance record. As such, we believe the trust may offer value to investors looking for a diversified global natural resources exposure, with the potential for dividend growth.

if it doesn't come bursting out of you in spite of everything, don't do it. unless it comes unasked out of your heart and your mind and your mouth and your gut, don't do it. if you have to sit for hours staring at your computer screen or hunched over your typewriter searching for words, don't do it. if you're doing it for money or fame, don't do it. if you're doing it because you want women in your bed, don't do it. if you have to sit there and rewrite it again and again, don't do it. if it's hard work just thinking about doing it, don't do it. if you're trying to write like somebody else, forget about it. if you have to wait for it to roar out of you, then wait patiently. if it never does roar out of you, do something else. if you first have to read it to your wife or your girlfriend or your boyfriend or your parents or to anybody at all, you're not ready. don't be like so many writers, don't be like so many thousands of people who call themselves writers, don't be dull and boring and pretentious, don't be consumed with self- love. the libraries of the world have yawned themselves to sleep over your kind. don't add to that. don't do it. unless it comes out of your soul like a rocket, unless being still would drive you to madness or suicide or murder, don't do it. unless the sun inside you is burning your gut, don't do it. when it is truly time, and if you have been chosen, it will do it by itself and it will keep on doing it until you die or it dies in you. there is no other way. and there never was.
