Full year results due. Record-beating half year results and clear intention to make acquisitions. Continuation of COVID boost seen in first half on the cards and likely longer. With some jittery trading in run up to results, perhaps market missing a trick.
Sorry to hear you missed 70p. Retrace overdone and somewhat predictable, which made for a nice opportunity. Confident that looking back a few years from now, today’s price will look very cheap indeed.
Feel worth a mention- let’s remain civil if we can. A nice place, is LSE and a peculiar post here and there easily ignored if we so wish. Do appreciate that it can be irksome though.
All the best, to all!
Your bloody at it again on this board too JoeKenny or the bullshi%%er as I like to call you.
Your playing your sneaky games here too.
Twirl - I am sorry you found this idiot inconsistent with his comments - we had the same issue with him in RBG thread today.
Pop over into RGB and have a read..
Karma will eventually get this crooked JoeKenny
Man i hate this kerb crawler
Sorry was just general share chat, I did decide to take a profit in the end since it far went above the 10% profit line I expected, glad to see this is doing well again, should see a good report come in. Was a bit worrying seeing such a drastic drop the other day, gutted I didn't buy a chunk at 70p yesterday
Besides recent profit-taking, considering whether inflation concerns may be spooking investors in CRL. If so, perhaps something of a miscalculation and CRL undervalued, presenting buying opportunity.
The Lipstick Effect- consistent and marked increase in spending on beauty products during tough economic conditions. Half year results support this with 36% increase in sales, notably increase of 180% in e-sales. Current economic turmoil not as previously seen- evidence suggests economy set for biggest boom since post-war 1940's.
my view- market missing a trick, making CRL a great opportunity.
Joekenny>> are these statements inconsistent?
"Don't even bother profit taking these days, used to take my 10% but now I find its easier to find a stock with a healthy incline and stick with it... CRL is profitable and expected to make acquisitions.. this will only continue upwards until at least mid 2022"
"Nevertheless I sold here at a profit when it hit 94p, so looking for another buy in opp."
Great to hear you’re in profit. Holding since 2017 and will continue to long term. Consistent growth year on year, most recent statement very strong and clear intention to make acquisitions- plenty more to come in my view. Expect wider market will await tipsters nod.
Nevertheless I sold here at a profit when it hit 94p, so looking for another buy in opp.
I think the report will push it up to those levels and beyond... just need it to be released. My strong presumption is that the company remains profitable and will reap the rewards from an increased demand in make-up/skin products as the UK continues to reopen
Tough to say, though market has tendency to overdo it any which direction, so perhaps 65-70p. I’ll buy at 75p and fill my pockets at 70p should it get there. My view that reasonable current value around 85-90p. Another 12 mos, however...
What do you think it will retrace to?
Disagree that there has been lack of news. Updates given as scheduled and news of attempted acquisition just weeks ago. Of the opinion that retrace has more to do with SP having gained 100% since Nov.
If the market is selling CRL, I’m buying.
Most SP increases run out of steam when there's a lack of news, just need an update to come now
FortKnight- profit-taking expected given substantial increase in SP since Nov. and retrace healthy. CRL beginning transformational period- believe that before too long, those selling today will wish they hadn’t.
good to know your thoughts. I was caught a littly by surprise by the sell off. This is in my buy and hold portfolio so I am not so bothered.
Expect profit-taking will cause deeper retrace. To sell at this juncture doesn’t seem prudent to me- I’ll buy the dip. Record first half, acquisitions on cards and expect strong results in coming weeks.
Great thanks guys
@JoeKenny End of June/ beginning of July. Looking forward to them!
JoeKenny- years prior the schedule released mid-May with results June.
Anyone know when we can expect further news? Can't seem to find any report dates... should be an absolute bumper year IMO
I do take profit, but in the medium term (e.g 3-6 months), find I get higher profit margins that way
JoeKenny- here’s hoping you’ll take profit at one time or another, for that’s what it’s all about!
Believe CRL entering transformational period and that 3-5 year investment will return very well. Expect strong results, though with retrace owing to unrealistic market expectations. My view that all being well, SP to range within 100-120p come Nov. with still greater upside should prudent acquisition be made.
Don't even bother profit taking these days, used to take my 10% but now I find its easier to find a stock with a healthy incline and stick with it... CRL is profitable and expected to make acquisitions.. this will only continue upwards until at least mid 2022
FortKnight- one might say, tongue in cheek, poor decision making! Jokes aside, it appears to be profit-taking following a tremendous run. Quite expected and a nice opportunity to top up prior to results, in my view.
No.
But it seemed a bit toppy to me so I took profit to be back later.
