Great post deltaseeker, thanks. I see we've hit 190p as well.
OK - a little reminder of the fundamentals that will drive this share price considerably higher regardless of the timing of the special dividend. Cambian have stated their ambition is to deliver 20% EBITDA margins within the specialist children services division that remains post adult sale. This should be a run rate profitability that becomes evident throughout 2018 and from £200m of forecast revenues this would equate to c £40m of cash generative earnings. If we use the adult sale transaction multiple and nearest quoted comparable Caretech as valuation benchmarks then these earnings deserve at least an 11x EBITDA multiple - £440m. Ignoring the timing of the dividend and taking the gross cash on balance sheet post adult sale of c£120m then we can expect a £560m equity value to fairly reflect this earnings ambition which is equivalent to 300p per share. This stock is gradually rehabilitating and is fundamentally an excellent defensive growth proposition with 60% upside on near term organic recovery alone; if we start to model in the cash the business will generate throughout 2018 and the investment opportunities in new educational / residential assets that could utilise further capital then the upside could be considerably higher.
Nice rise today. 180p breached. Great to see, particularly for those of us who remember the dark days of sub-60p!
Guys I spoke with cambian last night and I was told the special divi ex date will be before the end of August to be paid before the end of September. This was worst case. Reason for the delays was due to having the cash amount in the correct accounts for making full payment of the 50m
Agreed Borg. Nice to see this continuing to tick up in anticipating of the SD.
for this, selling up completey. Over to UKOG now, check it out, serious contender for share of the year. Still very cheap, will probably bag a few times. You heard it here first. Let me know if you have any share tips too. thanks
That was a nice little 3% surge this afternoon. Cant complain on that since my top up on Thursday. Looks like others are sitting tight too and not throwing in the towel.
Yes, it was supposed to have been paid in H1 2017 but slipped to H2. Can easily slip again to H1 2018....... Time to jumo ship as this is wasting time.....
As reported on 26 April 2017, Cambian intends to return £50 million of capital to shareholders by way of a special dividend, the declaration of which remains subject to a number of conditions, including creation of sufficient distributable reserves and final Board approval. Good progress has been made and we expect to be in a position to announce further details of the special dividend in August, with payment thereafter.
seems like i have been here an eternity as a swing trader. Topped up another £10k today 13:55: 166.9p 5956 shares £9,944
They'd better get their skates on if it's going to be before the end of June! Hopefully we'll have news in the next week or so.
Thanks. It's about time. I spoke to one of the directors and they told me before the end of June. Looks like it will no be achieved by then.
No specific date was mentioned but in the statement end of H2 which is anytime now really.
Morning Does anyone know a date the special divided is getting paid?
Scrub that, just remembered that it came out with the financial statements!
"Cambian Group has confirmed that all resolutions proposed at its annual general meeting yesterday were passed." 7/6/2017 I don't recall seeing an invite... anyone else?
bit quiet on here as we sit and tread water waiting for the special divi. I have just posted on the TW LSE chat as Taylor Wimpey is paying a 9.2p special divi on 1st June so i have asked the question whether its worth trading (buying in now) on a current pull back and banking a 4.6% yield..... take a look if interested. I dont have the answers to that ... but what seems to me is an opportunity..... TW weekly looks bullish and uptrend confirmed ... yet on the 4hr chart there is a pullback ,.. which is an opportunity for an entry. Borgy
For what it's worth, Cambian has just been picked as a 'top stock for May' by one of the writers over at the Motley Fool. Link here - http://www.fool.co.uk/investing/2017/05/01/top-stocks-for-may-2/?source=uhpsithla0000002&lidx=1
Very valid point.
I bought in at about 58p as well but 17% is 17%, hard to better those returns anywhere else at the moment (outside of AIM anyway).
No Borgy, I'm in agreement with you. An almost certain 17% return.
No, that sounds about spot on Borgy. I bought my first 1,000 shares in CMBN for about 58p each however, so I'm reluctant to average up so significantly now!
There was an article featured on PHD (Proactis) in the latest edition of Shares Magazine. Anyone interested in reading it email me at noel.borg@gmail.com and i'll send u it. on CMBN even investing now 1000 shares at 170p = £1700 plus stamp duty/broker fees = £1715 ... 30p special divi on 1000 shares = £300 ... 300/1715 = yield of 17.5% .... what's not to like. the SP would need to fall below 141p for you to lose money ... don't see that happening. CMBN holders have I missed something?
Guys I'm a total novice to this but enjoy the chat between the regs. hoping cambian has plenty left in the tank and dare I say it but we reach £2!? Borgey, particularly find your posts insightful and apologies but I piggybacked on the PHD tip..... thanks though. I've noticed not all Chat groups are as constructive as this one on this website so please Keep the tips and insight coming I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys the wisdom.
170p breached! Very nice. Come on, Cambian!!
