I still think £269m is still v undervalued personally, but will know for sure soon.... Nick
Dan I last commented on this share on 6/12 at which point you pointed out that my scepticism may have been wearing thin. So I kept my own counsel. At that point the SP was 134. I was just wondering where the previous enthusiasm had gone for the property portfolio and if you all still think that the only way is up? The 20p a share apppears to have been priced in. As Nick says the release of the financials will be interesting.
Patchy, it's been a good few months since your last 'log on, try to pour some cold water on CMBN, then log off and disappear for a few months' trick. Good to see you back! Nick has pretty much nailed it below, but I'd also add that a great many of us bought in within the 50p - 60p range, so have now 'bagged' and are sitting on sizeable gains. I've taken some profits already here, but special dividend should indeed provide even more upside on my original investment.
Whilst the children's services and education side may be more expensive, it also attracts the larger margin and with occupancy growing, no debt costs, and the big one off impairment charge unlikely to be repeated, it's all looking very good! As a result i am looking forward to the release of the financials in two weeks time. Watch this space...: Nick
This time last year this share was full of 'gung ho' spirit based on the 'property assets'. It doesn't appear to have been mentioned lately? Now the hope is for the 'allocation of sale dividend' that everyone's waiting for. How's the business doing? I did say that the sale of the adult side was a mistake and that children are more expensive to manage and occupancy numbers harder to increase. How are those figures looking? It may be that studying the share price trend is a good way of predicting upturns etc but that does seem to be a somewhat theoretical view of this business. Whatever, I wish you well.
Thanks for the info. I will contact Cambian and see if I can get any clues.
Nice to see my chart doing what the text book says it should do on a bottom triangle. 150p key resistance level broken.. but will it hold? Borgy
Hi Lee. Unfortunately we have no way of answering that accurately, as they haven't declared a cut-off date. I think one of our other posters (see below) recently emailed the CFO who did respond, but didn't answer that question.
Hi. I have shares purchased before the sell off of the adult services in Cambian but would like to up my shares but will I qualify for the special dividend as I am buying after the sale or will I qualify if I buy before the conformation is made at the end of April. Lee
Out over 150p for the first time in a while. Great to see.
Thanks Borgy. As you say, a small upside perhaps - any predictions beyond that? Nick
My chart as of close today ... https://uk.tradingview.com/chart/7c7VJ3gT/ Bottom Triangle maybe? Tells Me: The price seems to have reached a bottom, showing signs of reversal as it has broken upward after a period consolidation. A Bottom Triangle shows two converging trend lines as prices reach lower highs and higher lows. Volume diminishes as the price swings back and forth between an increasingly narrow range reflecting uncertainty in the market direction. Then well before the triangle reaches its apex, the price breaks above the upper trend line with a noticeable increase in volume, confirming this bullish pattern as a reversal of the prior downtrend. Thats the theory :-) but then this reaches 149p and drop back down again so we will wait and see. Borgy
Two massive buys this morning...... £913,500.00 £536,500.00 Why is the share price where it is...... ????
Nice 12.8 million buy........ after all these purchases lately can't be much shares in free float.. little bit of info on (lombard odier) Earnings reflect challenging market conditions Operating income for 2016 was CHF 1,040 million, 3% lower than in 2015. Challenging market conditions resulted in subdued client activity and hence lower earnings. The operating cost/income ratio was 83%. The consolidated net profit fell 13% to CHF 124.5 million. “The rise in client assets in 2016 is positive in what was a challenging market,” said Patrick Odier, Senior Managing Partner. “We continued to hire experienced bankers and portfolio managers to develop our private client business. In our asset management business, the strength of our offering resulted in us winning several large mandates over the year. And in our technology and banking services business, we cultivated a strong client pipeline and signed new partnership agreements in Switzerland, France and Luxembourg. Our cost income ratio remains high as a result of continued investments which should increase revenues in the medium term.” https://www.lombardodier.com/home/news/media-releases/content/newslist/the-lombard-odier-group-reports-2016-results.html
Thanks Nick, good to know. Could be an interesting day depending on what happens with the special dividend.
Thanks for the update Nick, :-))
I emailed their CFO - he didn't answer all my questions (e.g. Record date) but was able to provide that info.. Nick
Thank you Nhmusicman - where did u glean that info from?
2016's financial results plus an update on the special dividend, will be released on the 26th April 2017. Nick
Still holding above the t-line though....
Looks a familiar pattern: trending (range bound) between 140 and 150 .... with Support at 133.00 & Resistance at 150.00. expect the sp to fall now .... we will see.
No offence taken at all! Will see if I can get any extra info regarding the record date.... Nick
Nick, So sorry mate it's been a long day, hope I haven't offended you. Thanks for the reply must be news on that soon, you are quite right. Fingers crossed with the ladies I have a lot invested in there..... All the best mate
Hi, Yes still in 88e.... exciting times approaching there! I am not sure about the record date unfortunately. Given that the AGM notice will be end of April and the RNS referred to an H1 special divi, I assume details about that will be imminent. Nick (not Neal)
Hi Neal, You seem to know quite a lot any news on the record date?? Are you still in 88e ??
