Useful insights borgy. Do you use the same chart set up to identify exits too?
Thanks for that Borgy I will put the two on my watchlist great information as always mate, and always very informative from you. Thanks all the best all of you,..keep going cambian. Plenty more fuel left in this tank some big late reported trades again last of paying a great price for. Only way is up for this.....
Genty74. Had a look at SIV just now. There are a couple more shares that have been hit recently NXT and PSON and show similar gap downs on trading statements below expectations. Looking at the charts i would only buy once i see them coming out of the oversold on the RSI ...and the MACD signal crossing positive. I wouldnt try to guess the bottom as all three may fall further before they rise .. so rather than pick the bottom i would wait for confirmation of the sp coming out of the oversold on RSI before making a call. Better still if you can plot the sp with the 8EMA and 34EMA and wait for the 8 to cross the 34 then you are more certain of a possible sustained rise. My chart set up for going longs has 8EMA / 34EMA together with RSI and MACD ... sometimes i also use the SMI (stochastic movement index) .. Borgy.. But I'll add SIV now to my watchlist for a possible rebound. Thanks mate
So spredex has joined the party......... 5 million + tranche last week and added more today taking them up to 8,471,672 million ( what do they know....!!!!!) Sold a few more to get me free running here now after today's little spike, very happy with that :-)) so what will be here will be... Well done londandan profits profit at the end of the day... JUST A QUICK ONE... B74 Not in there as yet but looking at (SIV what do you think borgy )
Indeed. We hit a 52-week high of 160p earlier this morning and the price is now wobbling around all over the place between early 150p's and 160p. As I said previously, I think we're in for a bumpy ride as we approach results & the announcement of the special dividend.
Did anyone notice the MMs dropped the bid to 143.75 this morning... they are obviously short of shares and shook the tree to trigger some sales... money is flowing back in again and they are now trying to tempt you to sell by raising the Ask price. some positives ... a perfect cup and handle just formed and the 150p resistance has been broken.
I also took some profits this week and will keep the rest in play for the special dividend. An enormous profit in percentage terms, among the better investments I've made. Have a great weekend all!

Richard Griffiths and controlled undertakings has upped their stake too by a tranche of 921k.
So spredex has joined the party......... 5 million + tranch what do they know....!!!!! I top sliced a few yesterday will keep the rest in for the special dividend, very happy here with my investment and the way this is going...( dont know if i top sliced to early but happy) have a great weekend folks :-]
https://uk.tradingview.com/chart/JoM8pVNj/ doesnt CMBN resemble a dragon ...
Londondan - yep i would agree with you. If you take a look at the yearly chart you will see from the day of announcement of the disposal 05.12 to where we reached today ... a near perfect cup shape.... reaching as you say 150 which will be our new resistance level ( double top ) ..... can we break this? we will have to see but double tops are often resistant points for a while .. may be time to take off profits yet i wouldn't want to miss the special dividend. decisions decisions...
As I said further down, I think we'll see quite a bit of volatile price movement until this special dividend is confirmed. This share has pretty much bagged for me now, since my entry point early last year; I need to start making some decisions about whether I take some profits, or continue to let it ride as is. Incidentally, we've hit a 52 week high today. Congratulations to everyone who got in to this share in the grim old days of the profit warnings and has held tight.
My understanding is that the dividend will be declared at the time of release of the trading results (April last year), so you will be entitled to the dividend if you buy in now or up until that point at least.
PRB .. i totally get that mate and thank you. Its what they teach us in Business school :-) ... in its most simplistic nature sp should fall the next day after XD by the amount of the dividend... my question which remains is ... is the sp still cum-div? no one seems to know.. i suspect it is hence the rise...
Borgy74, I am an investor here and you are right in your assumption that you will get a good return on your investment however you need to be cautious with timing if you intend to trade it for profit.. It is normal in the build up to the payment of a dividend that the sp climbs quite nicely as people buy in however the day after you need to be in to receive the dividend the sp can drop by the amount of the dividend or more as people sell out. You then need to stay in the share for a few more weeks whilst it recovers. I have had several instances where I have made more than the dividend by selling the day before and others where I have stayed in, received the dividend and the sp has held fairly steady,
is it to do with the special dividend... i did post that question whether if you buy in now ... would you receive the 21.7p.? no mention of a cut off date? Borgy
No particular reason that I am aware of although it's been worth the wait. Nick
Absolutely flying out of the blocks this morning. Can't see any obvious reason for such a large jump up?
That's a great question, because my immediate thought was 'well yes, of course you would'. Then I stopped and, like you, thought 'hang on, that sounds way too good to be true!' We'll have to wait and see I guess. Could it be in some way limited to those who held CMBN at the time of the sale to Cygnet? If it's a free for all, we can expect some major SP volatility once it's announced!
question to more informed investors. I have my pot of cash say £40k and if i buy CMBN now i'd get 29,000 shares. so i would be entitled to 21,7p x 29,000 = £6293 RTN of 15%. That seems to be too good to be a true... a no brainer picking up over 15% yield... am i missing something here.....
