I wonder if we will see some more director buys at this price. GM bought in November at £8.17 so would be sensible to average down if he still has confidence in the Company.
Reckon a few director buys will lift the sentiment over the coming days..
Shaun P, I strongly believe that within a few years we will be going to the doctors and if applicable given a test before seeing the doctor to determine what virus we have. There are many tests available already for different viruses that i am sure will be developed to be done instantly on site. The obvious one will be a combined test to perhaps determine if you have Covid, Influenza or a common cold within 10 minutes as we know the tech is already out there for this.
I think that Covid testing is just the tip of the iceberg now for NCYT and their increase in staff suggests to me they are expanding quickly into other products to sustain their income levels going forwards.
I have said before that I believe our Government has realised that the best way to protect its people, economy and NHS is to test for all types of viruses and diseases. I have picked up pieces of a jigsaw listening to news reports and experts and for me the jigsaw is coming together.
The recruitment drive at NCYT led me to believe the Government may be liaising with them over developing a future testing regime to be put as at the forefront but I refrained from posting that as there was little evidence to back that up but now it looks a reality, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56572775
Reading with interest the proposed NHS trial of home smear tests. As NCYT already provide a wide variety of tests to the market it would not surprise me, if the trial is a success, that they will be involved in developing a mass smear test.
Listening to snippets from scientific experts interviewed on the various news channels it would appear that the Government believe that going forwards we should be developing testing for more and more viruses / illnesses to help supress their spread which in turn will reduce pressure on the NHS and reduce mortality.
I am starting to believe that we are only just at the beginning of a future that will see the development of testing for all sorts of viruses / illnesses that will be rolled out for the rest of our lifetimes and beyond.
IMO Covid testing is just the tip of the iceberg in the realm of possibilities and this will become one of the largest growth markets in the future and NCYT look well placed it that is the scenario.
Walshberg (post now removed), you missed the point. I am not comparing them as an industry but simply for news flow. I am saying that the multi billion pound companies are not posting RNS's every 5 minutes which are what most seem to be expecting.
Why are people calling for heads to roll and slating the company for the news flow its ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding on their part.
Look at some of the larger companies, Easyjet, Barratt Developments, Lloyds etc. They do not release RNS's every 5 minutes. "Just to let you know Mrs Brown paid £100 in today but she normally only pays in £10".
The majority of their RNS's are holdings which are rare here. RNS's adding meat to the bone come once in a blue moon.
If you bothered to research the company you would know that news flow is due on 3 fronts before the end of March.
Everything this company says it will do it does.
This is AIM, it is a fickle market with stocks in favour some days and not others. I would guess a few have sold here to move across to ARB for the recent rise.
If you invested in here at 66p like me and stuck with it you would be more than happy. The trouble with AIM stocks is the sheep follow the rise for a quick buck then moan when they get their fingers burnt.
Rant over!
No doubt like most on here I know quite a lot of people that have had the vaccine but I am amazed that most of them seem to believe the vaccine prevents them from getting Covid.
There seems to be a complete lack of understanding that you are still susceptible to getting Covid but the vaccine should help to reduce your symptoms. You are still able to spread it and you still need to be tested if you get any symptoms and self isolate but I do not hear this message coming across from the Government very clearly.
IMO the vaccine will not affect the need for testing for many years to come and the SP will recover over the coming weeks once the realisation sets in.
My point was that it is not the tests announced today that are being used as a few posters this morning seem to be linking the RNS and Government announcement together.
They are just available to research facilities until they receive approval in March.
As I read it its not ready for commercial use yet?
The SNPsig® assays are designed to run on central laboratory systems and on the Company's q16 and q32 rapid PCR systems as research-use-only products. The Company expects to launch the regulatory approved clinical diagnostic assays next month.
Not sure if this has already been posted; https://twitter.com/snooptrades/status/1355898267285000193
Bear in mind the SP has been floating around the £8 -£8.50 mark through December and most of January with a spike up on anticipation of the results, which from experience is overdone with most stocks, we are now over £9 so surely in a better position!
Also news of 2 new vaccines today and the market in general is jittery on possible EU disruption to the vaccine rollout may be having an effect which will all be forgotten next week!
I am pleased with the figures. I believe the broker predictions were before the acquisition of IT-IS so there may be certain costs of acquisition that has lowered the profit a little below expectations.
I believe the dent in todays SP is due to the outlook statement. The market is obviously looking for sustainability figures. I personally think that they should have taken a little more time before releasing a trading update due to the drastic change in the company over the past year and then been able to add a bit more meat with some post year end figures, contracts etc.
This is a long term investment for me and I only see the future as positive, unfortunately the quick buck brigade seem to be spinning the sentiment on it today so sit tight and wait if you can.
Bear in mind you have to provide for revenue information that may need to obtained from the large number of worldwide distributors, possible write offs, stock valuations, post year end events, future outlook etc.
It would be nice to have something tomorrow but i'm relaxed about it. The current SP seems to be forming a new base above £10 from £8 a couple of weeks ago so that is good enough for me.
