Indeed! At last. Looking forward to that nice chunky sum landing in my account tomorrow morning!
:-)
This is def a good recovery. Will have more to shout about over next few months. To all those that took my tip last week of UKOG, hope you all made some tidy profits. I have moved on to ANGS now as I think that is the next big rise and possibly multi bag on AIM. Check it out Angus energy. Let me know if you have any good share tips.
Bouncing back nicely, with the special divi on the way as well. Very nice too!
Scrub that comment - I notice that the date was delayed a day!
I'm surprised that there is so much activity today, given that the announcement said shareholders at end of 30/8/17 would get special dividend, not 31/8/17. Nick
Went ex divi today, holders will be receiving 27p on 15 September. So change is -22p, which means an overall gain of 5p today.
Agreed, I think this is great news for the business and is a welcome reward for long term holders who have been through the mill over the last couple of years. For my part, I'm sitting on huge gains here so this is just a nice bonus. A blip in the share price after the ex-dividend date won't spook me, as I didn't expect to be around 230p by this point anyway. I'll continue to hold, but will keep a close eye on the next set of results. What I want to see now is evidence that the BOD has learned from the mistakes of the past and can now grow the business in a sustainable fashion.
I don't think there will be a big hit on the SP. The BOD have already said that there will be an ongoing progressive dividend policy, so I think personally people will hold and reap further rewards as the business grows. Nick
Hopefully we can see a decent rise in the SP between now and the 31.08, this could then offset the potential fall. I am no where near as experienced in these matters as many as you guys, what is your experiance with matters like these. Are we likely to see a reduction of roughly 27.1p or do you expect the drop to be more dramatic as people take profits.
Yes its what we all have been waiting for? so this will likely rise now as the divi hunters make their last attempt to get in before 31.08.. can only see the sp rising until then.... now the big Q? will the sp Xd fall more than 21.7p as there will be loads and loads of LT holders sitting with double/triple and near quadruple gains? My hunch tells me there is no Free Lunch in the Market so YES... be careful because this call fall well more than 8% the current special divi yielding at current price ... comments welcome..
Did anyone else see this. Cambian Group PLC 23 August 2017 Cambian Group Plc ("Cambian" or the "Company") ANNOUNCEMENT OF GBP50 MILLION RETURN OF CAPITAL Following the sale of the adult services business at the end of 2016 for GBP379 million, Cambian announced its intention to return GBP50 million of capital to shareholders by way of a special dividend subject to a number of conditions including the creation of sufficient distributable reserves. Cambian is pleased to announce that the conditions have now been satisfied and therefore the Directors of the Company have today declared a special dividend of 27.1p per Ordinary share, equating to a GBP50 million return of capital to shareholders. A payment of 27.1p per Ordinary share will be made on 15 September 2017 to ordinary shareholders on the register on 1 September 2017. The ex-dividend date is 31 August 2017. I take it that ordinary shares are what we all hold.
Big day for CMBN today - the SP has just gone over the IPO listing price for the first time in a long time. A far cry from the days of sub-60p. Well done to all who have held on and are now sitting on big gains.
was here from the days of 60p..... good rise. On UKOG at the moment that is the next multibag. Check it out and let me know if you have any decent share tips.
Thanks londondan, yes makes sense that property gave a floor here and there is alot of demand for their service. You look at tech companies which have tanked and there is no safetynet - something like Wandisco has recovered but who could have predicted that. Capita and Mitie have also given good gains, maybe their wide contract base offers a safetynet. I'll chek out GAW, dont know them
Knowing a little about the sector already helps. My other half is in Healthcare, so I was peripherally aware of Cambian already. There was a point at which Cambian's property portfolio alone was worth more than the shares were trading at - and that's before one considers their services and the opportunity for future growth. That was a pretty nailed on sign that the share was oversold and was my primary motivation for buying a large stake (relative to the rest of my portfolio). That said, I hadn't expected it to rebound to quite this extent. Even having taken some profits already, I'm sitting on very chunky gains. The other share I've seen do the same of late is GAW. I bought in there at about 490p last summer and it's trading at 1,600p today. In that instance, I saw it tipped in the press, then did my own research and liked what I saw. Some of the other posters on the CMBN board use charts in a very sophisticated way and you would do well to look through some of their posts on that topic.
Any of you wise owls know how to identify when a share that has crashed offers incredible buying opportunity (like Cambian at 60p) and one which is good money after bad?
Dan, how are you mate?,hope all good, picture here is panning out quite well, few positive statements will propell this further, even without diva payment date! All the best,
We're also nearing another big psychological hurdle, which is the 225p price at which the business first floated. I'm sure it's felt like a long road back for those who were in on day one, but they'll be over the moon to see the sp hitting 219p today.
I suspect that if the special dividend is announced in the next couple of weeks, we could see this fly through the roof for a short while, before a big pullback brings it down to a more sensible level again. Agree that the psychological 200p level is a good target for the time being.
due a pullback on today's close: nothing to worry about but thats 2 weeks of successive rises so breathers (pullbacks) normal ... why do i think this ... sp has extended into overbought territory now on RSI and Stochastics ... my weekly chart shows how we are moving towards filling that gap of the 19/10/2015. https://uk.tradingview.com/chart/itCT9T6v/ hopefully the pullback can remain above that pyscological 200p level.
Liberum Initiates Cambian Group At Buy, Target Price 224P
Londondan... I was about to post the same message re. £2 milestone so exactly... very important ... lets hope we stay above this level now.
200p hit! Really significant milestone for the share price, given how low it fell at one point. I've almost tripled my investment on this now.
200p could be on the cards .... nice little earner this one even if it is boring ... :-) but who are we to complain.
