I am a shareholder in United Cacao and luckily only put in a small amount as a punt. Just to let people know they are still updating their website and have made a couple of updates since 25th Jan RNS. They have raised $700k and renegotiated their bonds. I doubt I'll ever see any of my money back on this though
A month will have elapsed by Monday so presume it's curtains for CHOC at close of trading today. Fortunately, this was only on my watch list but I feel for all holders as yet another AIM company hits the wall as a result of seemingly dodgy dealings/actions taken by BoD.
What has happened to make the share price crash? Have they run out of money?
a shock as a few here feared. It takes years to get a decent yield so with no income how are they going to pay the expenses. Even then crop yields are not reliable due to the weather and maybe other factors. By then the market prices can fall as well. Farming is like shagging a porcupine it's a 1000 pr**ks against one. The life style is nice I'll say that. I had a plot in South Africa growing lychees and Avocadoes for 18 years so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. A beautiful place to live but..................
Nothing much really happens with this bb or share. Is there anyone still invested here that knows whether production is likely on 2017?
hello, all. just wanted to note that midas pushed this as a buy about six weeks ago... ever since then i've seen it inexorably rise, even though production seems a couple of years awamy until the deforestation issue (is that the sig that i've seen mentioned here?)... not a big fan of unethical money-making so wondering if someone has an opinion on timeline before its resolution or people forget the bad news... or is today that day?
as this is on my watchist. There's an interview by proactive investors and also a presentation video from the uk investor show on Mr Winnifrith's share website. They make interesting watching. This is something I plan to invest in later this year when there will be more newsflow.
is weighing heavily on the share. I won't be buying now until the situation is clear. A pity really as I think the company can be a huge profit maker. It just has be to ethical to keep me on board.
Bought more today. Very confident in a strong and sustained rise in Cocoa price.
I will be averaging up on this as I think 2017 will be transformational. Of course funding is a worry and I assume a placing will also be needed to fund production. However I think the management have a good track record in commodities and I think although risky, the current stage is only medium risk with huges upside. So I am very happy to be on board and intend to add as we hit further milestones. The equity and Bond issue gives a good indication of the minimum price to be achieved here where 176p and 222p are the placing and conversion price showing decent upside.
Hi all, It's quite well geared to the Cocoa price which is cyclical (not withstanding a longer term upward trend). We've just gone through its seasonal low and should be on our way to a high sometime towards the end of the year - I closed a Cocoa short last week and opened up my long position. In my view we should see this mirror the rise of the commodity all being well from here on. I bought a small holding at 110 which was badly timed before the crash to 80 and subsequent recovery, but no reason why we shouldn't see 200p plus once Cocoa is in the 3500 range. Will be buying more into that rise as it becomes more established.
Good for you,you managed to come in at the lowest point.I still dont see why it came down from the 200's to 85 in such a short time, but the fundamentals for both the product and the co were always very solid so it should carry on rising. There is bound to be some profit taking soon with a 40% rise in such a short time but what an chance missed!
Afternoon WABI-SABI. I think the company needs to fix the funding situation first as this has been weighing on the shares. Very tightly held share with exaggerated falls and rises. I managed to nip in at 85p so quite pleased at my timing. Still holding on though for further gains.
Hold on to your hats. We will soon be minted at this rate of progress. At least there is no bar to putting tis in an ISA wrapper.
this share is as the rise has quickly melted away. Worth buying on weakness I should think as if this one comes good it will rise in leaps and bounds.
And have been watching choc....................
Fallingknife1 Hello buddy, I have been following AGTA for about two years, a company that I am invested in holds a million shares in AGTA.....................ATVB............
Morning Kenny, Are you a spyer or a buyer still? I see we are over 100p again which is pleasing given the rise yesterday. Looking sweet!

Fallingknife1 Hello mate nice rise here today and the spread has dropped, I know how you must feel, nice to be on the riser board.....................
Hi Kenny, they have fallen a long way but you may get indigestion if you jump in after a Midas Tip. Seemed a bit of a slow reaction initially but we are chock fuller of buyers now. I would love to know what was behind the fall from 200p although the article did go some way to explaining it. The MM's were merciless at cutting this on the way down so maybe not much buying will propel it back up.
took a bite out of these this morning. I got an appetite for these after the DM article but have been tracking these for ages. Quite risky as the article pointed out but I do like the fact the they will be largest independent cocoa estate next year. If so they will have hit the ultimate sweet spot. I also expect a placing at some stage but having got in cheaply will be more than happy to shell out.
Put this on my watch list.......................................
