Detailed article on CHOC below with legal analysis. http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/1216760-company-chops-down-rainforest-for-sustainable-chocolate/
looking good now...and seems to be buyer with round share trades...and 163 paid. 158 to sell on dummy sell
Well...its certainly unique as the sole cocoa producer listed on exchange. Plus nice big trade at 155 to end the day! Also been recd yesterday so gaining interest.
I think it's better to say tasty or sweeeet. Keeping an eye on these. Let's see what progress is made first.
This is a wonderful long term hold . However the Market never moves in straight lines . So hence CHOC moves up too quickly and sellers come in . The price in my opinion should be about 168p now based on expectations . After hitting about 200p the sellers moved in , then the weak shareholders who don't want to lose all their gains they made in a week and they sell and we are back to 150p bid . For those who are looking at a 3-5 year view it is of no importance . Therefore if you have belief just hold and top up with buys with cash from dividends from more mature shares you have in your portfolio
thanks for clearing that up MW! Interesting right up on CHOC here http://www.investorschampion.com/blog/entry/plenty-of-new-arrivals-on-aim-in-december-including-a-fascinating-latin-ame Perhaps the most unusual ipo in the month was that of United Cacao Ltd SEZC (AIM:CHOC) United Cacao Limited SEZC is the first publicly listed pure-play cacao producer globally and the first publicly listed tropical plantation company in Latin America. CHOC is an exempted company incorporated in the Cayman Islands, registered as a special economic zone company and licensed by the Special Economic Zone Authority of the Cayman Island and is the holding company for Cacao del Peru Norte SAC (“CDPN”), the Company’s wholly owned Peruvian operating subsidiary. The Group seeks to be the world’s largest and lowest cost corporate grower of cacao by the end of 2016 when it plans to complete the planting of its existing 3,250 hectare estate, of which the proceeds of the Placing and Subscription will finance the planting of an initial total of 2,000 hectares. The Company, via CDPN, owns approximately 3,523 hectares of freehold agriculture land near the city of Iquitos, the capital of Loreto, Peru’s northern region. Iquitos, a city of over 450,000 inhabitants, is at the headwaters of the Amazon River and is serviced by scheduled ocean-going freighters to the Atlantic, via Manaus (Brazil) and onwards to the United States. Iquitos also has regular domestic and international flight connectivity by several regional airlines and is less than two hours flight time from Lima They are on-track to achieve a total planted estate of 500 hectares by the end of 2014, which the Directors believe would make it one of the two largest cacao estates in Peru. By end of Q1 2015, the Group expects to have planted 1,000 hectares in total and by the end of Q4 2015, a total of 2,000 hectares. CHOC raised £6.4m at 128p per share and has a current market capitalisation of £28m. With the share price standing at 157p the shares have got off to a great start. It’s a fascinating offering and we wish them well. With predictions of a global chocolate shortage by 2020, chocolate loving Brits could do well to get behind this one!
Luke, Very often happens that Directors are given share options, so the have to produce a RNS. The amount of shares created for share options is usually too small to effect the share price. As regards the Directors overall holding this will include any companies which he owns which has shares. In this event they are stating his overall holding both personally and through any companies. He already owned ( via his company ) 28%, it just increased slightly. So no boom to follow I'm afraid. Not surprised to see a fall here, as I predicted, I am afraid !
Yo, Im trying to make sense of the news on 5th January regarding excersise of options. So 160k of shares are going to be added to the current 18million which I am guessing may briefly lower the share price? Then the director is looking to buy 28% of the shares which I should think would make it boom upwards? Only been trading couple of months and first time Ive come across this scenario would greatly appreciate a little advice to help ascertain its meaning and influence on current SP
This is from HL at 9:53am Sell: 170.00p Buy: 180.00p
My Share dealing site HSBC has CHOC listed but there are no buys or sells recorded and they cannot give me a price. Not that I am a buyer at all at this price, just curious what the spread would be.
Yes this will be on my watch list for a long time. I agree there will be problem times for CHOC and good times too. Having missed he best buying opportunity, will just have to bide my time. I would have sold and taken any profit, so would not have been a holder now, even if I had bought.
plenty of time to get in,probably a year before shese in profit, with no income,no doubt a few cash calls will be made before then, after all,it is in aim.gl
TW, Came back to look at what went on this afternoon. I see it went over £2, that's crazy. Not surprised to see drop back to £1.85. Further falls will occur IMO.
Not many shares in blue over the past few days so people piling in here on the hype. No figures for this company as of yet however they are looking at coming into profit 2019 once the new plantation develops. Not buying in yet, things that go up always come down!
I think the sp has got to £1.90 0n sentiment rather than financial fundamentals. Remember that the placing was at £1.28. Granted I am bitter at not buying in straight away when I should have, however buying in now at this inflated price is pure folly IMO.
Amazing rise...should have bought!
from todays sunday mail about choc.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/investing/article-2863624/MIDAS-SHARE-TIPS-Chocs-away-start-aiming-world-s-cocoa-grower.html
VSA news. I took part in the Choc IPO and it has done well thus far.##2nd Dec. Here is the VSA news on it and other news of course from CICCapital advisors. http://www.vsacapital.com/news 02.12.2014 United Cacao in Interactive Investor Chocolate IPO goes down a treat 02.12.2014 United Cacao, First Day of Trading Shares in first listed cocoa-growing specialist jump on debut
CHOC - Nice full page BUY recommendation in todays Shares Mag: 'Chocolate buying is soaring and a cocoa supply crunch looms, with West African production unable to keep pace with demand. A canny way to play these dynamics is via United Cacao. Management have previously created shareholder value before and growing appreciation of this strategic asset should drive the share price.'
Didn't see this coming as a rise so soon
Bought £5600 this this morning after watching the CNBC interview with the CEO . ( good stuff ) wanted to buy yesterday but iii.co.UK had not got their act together until today . Share price might drop back a little but for me this is a long term hold . Based on the amount of chocolate that the ladies in my family consume they should support CHOC ( love the symbol ) by themselves .
First day jitters over, fallen back to 139p...it will go lower
Just read the RNS and placing was at £1.28......so will this fall back from £1.42 ?, think it is likely.
