I spent an hour this afternoon having a look at any info publicly available on Askar. There isn’t a huge amount of intel - but he, through Meridian, is an investor who seems to favour FMCG, Natural Resources (Exploration and Mining) and Infrastructure. His plays generally seem strategic and longer term. He does seem to have some form with acquiring companies - but I couldn’t find much about this. The narrative definitely points towards this being a serious investor whose increase in shareholding will, unsurprisingly, be seen as a vote of confidence in chariot and is unlikely to be a quick punt. Given his activity in the natural resources - namely exploration and mining space it is likely he knows AP.
It seems unlikely that this is either a quick punt or unresearched bet!
DYOR - but beyond the obvious I think this looks encouraging and may draw others..
I hope the chariot informal approach had better luck than my last informal approach after 8 pints and half a dozen drambuies - ended up in a right scuffle with non of the involved parties happy.
Can we expect to know the outcome of the first onshore drill by the end of May?
I think we should hear SDX are done with the rig and Loukas is next up. Very interesting weeks/months ahead
I wonder how comfortable AP is with AA now above 7%. Is this just an investment in Chariot or will he look to takeover on the cheap? I think he does have history with takeovers, perhaps it was him that made the informal approach that AP mentioned. IMHO, DYOR.
An extra percent of endorsement doesn't sound too shabby at all 🤞
Ian I noticed earlier that you dropped another E 😬
Presumably, if Covalis is still executing a large sell order, the rules allow that entity not to disclose until completed.
TBF, getting someone to ‘declare’ at all on AIM is a bonus. 2 weeks ain’t bad imo.
Covalis are the ones that sold imo, and we’ve still heard a peep from them.
OSD,
Askar did the same on last notification, took a week to be reported, very naughty, our house broker should remind him of the UK disclosure rules and that this is not China. Yevgeniy Feld may be buying too, now that would be interesting !
aimo & dyor
So the large seller actually transpires to be Khazakstans secret billionaire increasing his stake in Chariot.
Did so on the same date as the Energean transaction and reporting from a Hong Kong Office and there was me thinking you had 3 days give or take bank holidays and weekends to report. Plenty time for his mates to be fiddling this back and forth for a few more.
Can't be far off some updates so its a welcome bonus.
I wonder if you were right Whimax about a buyer keeping the price in check... time will tell, but assuming this is accurate it's a massive vote on confidenece.
I think a poster called 'Amanda...' posted a comment on here a few weeks ago in relation to Askar, so would be interested to hear their updated views - whether Askar has been moving funds, motive, etc
DYOR

So Askar in for another 18m shares from the Covalis sale a couple of weeks ago.
Shows huge confidence imo.
I guess he is the 50-100k block buyer too.
Did he move up from 6% or did he sell out and buy 7% back in on 10th April at a lower price?
Yes good to see someone moving up to a 7% holding. It is however rather naughty not to notify for 16 days after he crossed the threshold on 10th April.
So it was triggered on the 10th April. The 7% day
Up from 6 to 7 %
No?
Ok it's here :--

Schlemiel - where did you see that? AA had sold his 6% shares months ago ?
WTF
Askar Alshinbayev up to 7.17%
Thebold - the easiest thing to do when investing is to buy high then sell low. So next time you feel like buying, sell half your holding and if the sp goes up you are happy for the other half. If it goes down, buy the half back!
A bit like backing horses. If someone gives you a tip... lay it - you'll probably do better!
GP you continue to be up and down with this Char and no doubt will APs best pal when ( I won't dare say "IF" ! ) it comes good.
No saying when share climb to close valuation gap will accelerate- it has started though.....Double bottom in - today's move looks encouraging.
Ok bold apologies. Fair enough.
Just my opinion that only real value will be had closer to production IF we get there.
Need to remind people that we already found more gas then expected but could not sustain our rise.
I'd say most of us stayed fully in as we expected that 20's was only the beginning of the journey.
Despite "progressing" the project we have only seen the SP regress which is why I am not expecting any near term fireworks.
Is Da Vinci code on Netflix?
