Maybe Murphy’ll be interested on partnering with us on further exploration such as the Anguille hub once Anchois is developed, but I assume it’ll be ONHYM and some Moroccan banks/institutions who initially form the partnership. Hopefully not too long to wait until we find out.

I believe we’ll soon know about Phulbari one way or the other.

AP talked at length about the Angolan deal. And he gave many figures, stats etc. to backup his assertions.

I'm not saying they'll try to enact the pre emption with a 'maybe, might, let's see how it goes' approach!

They could already create a partnership, all signed and agreed, with a deep water operator along with the financing and present it to the Angolan authorities as a fait accompli. It'll leave the Angolan little choice but to honour the pre emption.

I have a feeling that Etu will manage to force out ENOG from Angola. It's Angolan national policy to do so, and I'm sure Etu will be able to form a partnership in order to meet the deep water operator requirement. The partnership could also include CHAR (current partner for 1st pre emption) to gain access to the Shell loan facility. Shell would be delighted to do so, easy business making for them.

We will see!

Perhaps now that the net drawdown of the Shell facilities loan will be materially less than originally anticipated (because of a lower final purchase price given the higher oil prices) Shell may actually support this 2nd preemption with CHAR involved if only to increase the combined drawdown? They’ve already done their dd on the asset. And they make money from issue inc debt attached to offtake barrels.

I don’t like it that they’re talking about these conversations in the past tense!

Those contingent payments on the ENOG deal relate to specific performance indicators over-and-above the initial barrels to be acquired. IF they become payable, they will be paid in the next years.

Interesting point on including Trident in on the preemption to meet the deepwater operator requirement. I wonder though, where does that leave CHAR? Are we even needed? Perhaps only to drawdown funds from the Shell facility? It would be great.

Shell will have a fair idea by now of what the max drawdown of the facility will be given that the effective date is already +16 months ago. It’s certain now that the drawdown will be considerably less than originally planned. That would disappoint Shell, and they would therefore be interested in discussing the possibility of another preemption in order to increase the drawdown amount. Same counterparty. Same asset. Same risk profile.
