It feels like a corner has been turned here - solid update, decent progress, positives in the future, chart looking less appalling. It's a hold for me.
Yes don’t forget the broker target is 1.55 , slow and steady will do
Test match rate--------but the new ball has been seen off and the bowlers are flagging. Im hoping its going to be a bit like THAT Ben Stokes innnings against the Aussies but without the fingernail biting.
Im not happy with the low divi, but if things start to line up, with getting the power to the site, clearing the mess, the light bodied trucks and a few bonanza grades then hopefully the divis will start to climb to acceptable levels.
It makes a change that we havent been hammered after an update. Even though the divi announcement wasnt great (but it was expected), the market seems to be happy about something.
Maybe with gold starting to climb and interest rates going up, sentiment is starting to change?
Yes will be good to get to 3 figures soon , so are we batting at test match rate , 50 overs or 20/20 ?
I think a light one--------as i think the previous Centamin management tried the heavy one to flatten out the waste and that didnt go very well!
Its still tricky but maybe Martin Horgan is starting to see the ball like a beach ball.
Paul, what kind of roller are you gonna ask the groundsman to go over the pitch with ?
I think its a bit like losing the toss in cricket and being put into bat on a tricky pitch. Know where your off stump is and dont play at anything you dont have too. Go into lunch without losing a wicket and you have had a decent morning and things should get better inn the afternoon session.
Im dreaming of the days when he sends for another pair of gloves and a heavier bat. :-)
90p paid
Great day today despite the negative start to this thread , hope it closes above 90 , actually in profit on this one ha ha
Just did something similar. Largest daily increase in CEY I can remember.
Cey riding high after results, time to close a few of those ill-timed trades at around 84p n reduce holding , usual trick kept profits in shares .....
GLa
I am holding. Another 16% rise and I will be back in profit :)
The only thing you can do wrong with Centamin in the near future is not have your line in the water.
Cherry burn,
I agree. They are sounding like they are really getting a grip on the business and identifying some really exciting opportunities both for cost savings and expansion.
If I have just heard it correctly the combined cost saving of the solar generation facility (now built) and the connection to grid (sounds like it will be within a year and for a cost of c$10M) will be $40-45M. Does tie in with what others heard?
Exciting times to me!
Best wishes,
Prof
Just listened to the Presentation which started at 9.30 am and is still continuing with Q and A ! Impressive and has given me a lot of confidence in the future especially cost savings, solar plant construction, new tenements and mention of minimum dividend of 5c on an annual basis.
Hopefully one of the mining bods on here will be along to explain the drilling results. I think Gnome previously said they were really good?
Also--do they think that Martin Horgan knew what he was letting himself in for with Centamin. I think he must have had a good idea and saw the potential after clearing up the previous lots mess. He doesnt seem the sort who would bother with a lost cause even for a good financial package.
I think (HOPE!) the news will get better and I can see either an increased next dividend or a small special dividend to reflect this.
At lease the share price hasnt taken a knock with these results.
Id be interested to see what Gnome, Cowichan and Mr T think of this later on after the call.
They announced previously that the dividend target for the year was 5c.
so on target....
Also, I wish all my shares paid as high a dividend....cant grumble about this share....
excellent drill results were achieved which continue to support the zone's potential to provide Significant high grade gold production to supplement the existing working areas.
Im not an expert but those drill results from Horus Deeps, ptah, Amun and bast look incredible.
Solar plant will also help
"we also look forward to a strong pipeline of news that will highlight the organic growth potential we see across our portfolio of assets".
Looks like Mr Horgan is dusting off the good news department.( what, you didn't know we had one! Lol )
Got a good feeling we're on the up .
So as all expected, and looks on track, plus Horgan looks optimistic, hopefully the share price will begin to recover
Cash down to $175m
Aisc up to $1400
And this is the dividend history that says it all really, with the dividend now near halved on an already reduced dividend, as we have expected after the troubles leading to much reduced profit. and explains the share price fall of the last couple of years, If shares were back at £2 Cey would be yielding just 2%.
Dividend history in US cents
2016 16
2017 12.5
2018 5.5
2019 10
2020 9
2021 9
2022. 5
I for one am pleased the dividend is reduced as paying it of saved cash rather than too small profit is silly especially now. We badly need to keep cash in my opinion as if gold falls back below $1400 and we are making losses, and borrowing super expensive, we need that fast decreasing cash pile to tide us over
However as usual the year after next looks good….if gold recovers by then as I hope after the oncoming tumble
old news... clearly while getting all your trading predictions wrong you haven't read previous company reports .. LOL
It was 9 cents the year before...
With no debt and $170m in cash, I expected more than $29m to be distributed as dividend TBH.
But hey, as always there is a pot of jam for tomorrow.
