BSE 's main mine in Kenya is end of life. They might be able to eek out some breathing space by processing low grade material there. However they will tread water or sink unless they can make progress in Madagascar.
But Madagascar being Madagascar who knows when that might be. It is not a country known for competence, governance or planning. It is riven with sectional interests. An agreement with an incumbent regime could be torn up by a new regime. BSE have already experienced such issues.
Likewise, I bought in as well a couple of weeks ago. Amazing dividend (first ex: div date today!) and growth potential. Will be adding more shortly if opportunity arises.

Hi vanvan Fiscal terms is possible by March they have been working on it for long enough. A lot of pressure is on Madagascan gvt to get mines up and running from World Bank and EITI it will contribute a huge amount of revenue and jobs etc.The bit that caught my eye is "Kuranze is where they are most excited. They think it could be the source of rutile at Kwale." That would be quick to get up and running and insure a good steady income whilst Toliara is developed.
Sorry double post!!!!
This is the bit that caught my attention: - Fiscal terms by end of March? Really? Is that possible? Impact on Co?
"There's 2 critical parts, I guess, to that FID. Firstly, fiscal terms and certainty and the consequent lifting of the suspension on grounds. Once that happens, we've got about 11 months of work to complete before we can take an FID. So if we're able to achieve securing fiscal terms, say, at the end of March, we'll be talking about an FID at the end of February next year"
Thanks for the transcript oldtramp. Very interesting.

A few notes from the Q/A from yesterday
BASE Notes: Toliara
800,000 tonnes a year of ilmenite.
Western drill results due to be consolidated into the resource over the next couple of quarters….Tim said “it’s a 100 year type mine life deposit”
Kuranze is where they are most excited. They think it could be the source of rutile at Kwale.
Scalability in Toliara, upsize potential based on where the market is going. JV that comes with an offtake has an advantage that it can underwrite an earlier increase in scale because of the way it breaks the back of the marketing effort. Tim is pretty excited about this as a feature of this project.
They weren’t driven by optimizing NPV in determining the size of the project in the BFS perspective. At the time it was based on the amount of product that could be sensibly put into the market. Their view on that has changed and they believe that they can make it bigger.
Sorry for double post if you look at times the 1st one didnt show up on here ....

With discussions underway does anyone get the impression that approval could be granted fairly soon now? Sounds like Co is making all the necessary arrangements to ensure everything has been done that can be done, so as soon as they get the green light it is all systems go. End of Q1 anyone? What impact will this have on our SP anyone. If Madagascar is go, that’s the end of the dividend for now as all monies will be rightly redirected into developing this valuable growth prospect. That’s my take, but please correct if you see differently.
