ShareScare, I am a Bahamian, I have been very clear about that. Nor am I the only one on here. All I am saying is that its I'll advised to go on about how wonderful this will all be for the Bahamas. It does not endear BPC to locals who know better. Ramp away, to be sure! But leave the condescension out of it. This is good advice, you should take it.
Bear in mind North Sea oil contributed 1% to GDP in its best year.
The author of this article is suggesting that an 8% increase in the countries revenue is insignificant, especially in a time where the tourism industry is decimated.
Also the author refers to the 9 billion debt the country is in as a major concern surely an additional 250 million a year would only help with this.
About the same number as the BPC Facebook group.
CarsCoffee,
The drilling manager aboard the Icemax will have daily meetings and will consult with BPC and the Icemax captain and the supply boat operator's and order the loadouts of required items which the supply boat will load and deliver when required. Certain supply boats can also carry bulk goods liquids in dedicated tanks - like drill water, cement, mud, and potable water. With a 200 mile one way trip to the drill site I imagine 2-3 supply boats will be on charter once drilling begins. Basically like North sea UK operations with helicopters for crew and hotshot items.
And the our islands our future Facebook page still only has 1578 likes
rossannan - I see you are attempting to rewrite history, whitewashing over your trolling campaign extending over close to a year ending with Koot making a monkey out of you!
Those that know you of old understand your tricks - I don't speak for jcgswims but that moderator of the non- nutters thread over on ADVFN gave you a second chance which you blew because you just can't help yourself !
You should consider what Trek says - I didn't see him have a hissy fit about the management of Paul Baay at TXP and selling at 0.18 before it more than 5 bagged - CERP more than doubled after Saffron- what prospects for BPC now you're out!
And bad form to self promote your own letter, not even SC did that.
You posted this yesterday too...worried??
Titus, surely the wealth created would be good for your resort ?
So they're not fussed on cars or indeed electricity in general then?
Not how many in the Bahamas see it. These numbers are by and large correct:

Yes, that is the good thing about LSE - the only moderator is LSE so you are free to argue the bear case as long as you stick to their rules.
I have put my BPC proceeds to work in the less exciting TRIN, where I have put even more work in. The BPC pre-drill excitement trade is no longer for me, not now that I have seen the whites of the activists’ eyes, but I will reassess once we see how they fare in court.

Agree the governments decision will have very little to do with BPC specifically but that if they do accept the judicial review they potentially make their oil a non-starter for any future exploration. Effectively imprisoning their natural resources. Due to the grandeur and potential impact on the Bahamas for generations the decision can only be to dismiss the application.
Very true!
Lack of trust from investors would leave the country with only tourism to live on.
Great but insufficient
Offerman, holding 21.5 mil now, didn’t get the additional 3.5 at 2.40 but happy where I am at.
Yep looks like it’s gonna tick up now. You know how PI’s think. Sell when it’s falling then buy when it’s going back up! All adds to the market view and herd momentum.
What a fun week!
Trek
Hi Ross,
As you know I value the bear points and have often ticked em up. After all I have posted enough of em on finance here myself!
You back in yet? Don’t miss out after all that work and I wouldn’t leave it until the insane rush of buying into the close today! Will be go slow holidays soon apart for drillers!
Likewise I wouldn’t be all in either!
Just enough to make a difference but not too much to hurt.
Not advice, just discussion - Usual caveats.

Just topped my holding by a further 37285 shares. That now takes my holding to 728,920 and I couldn't be more positive about it.
Excited to see what the next few weeks bring.

Accumulation is forming a flag you should shoot to 3p today
This is a defining moment for the Bahamas. If they allow the application to succeed and drilling is delayed (or even cancelled) then there is no way that anyone could ever have faith that a prospective drill would ever be allowed to proceed; and why would anyone invest in a drilling company when you will never be sure that the drill will happen, no matter how many years you have been waiting and how many legal hoops you have jumped through. If the Bahamian legislation is serious about bringing economic transformation then it is right now they have to demonstrate that.
Or be held to ransom by a bunch of activists. For what?
