Lampedusa, boohoo are now going to be using the usa distribution centre so the loophole that shein use doesn't help boo or asos.
Bloomin hell they're really going after shein, he's basically saying to the uk "list this company at your own peril, we're going ot hit the business hard and if listed in the uk your investors will lose a fortune"
Just imagine they list shein on the lse and then the scandals come out followed by proof that Jeremy hunt was warned!
"A final concern is SHEIN’s circumvention of customs enforcement and tax, a tactic
central to its business model. In the United States, SHEIN exploits “de minimis” entry to ship its
products directly from the PRC to consumers without customs inspections or duties. Bipartisan
coalitions in Congress are working to close this trade loophole through bills like my Import
Security and Fairness Act. If we succeed, SHEIN’s business model will be upended, to the
detriment of investors. SHEIN uses the same tactic in the United Kingdom to undercut
competitors and evade taxation, and similar cries have been raised for reform.
8 The United States
and United Kingdom have many honest businesses that employ workers, import clothing from
reputable manufacturers, and pay taxes accordingly. SHEIN’s dishonest business threatens
honest businesses everywhere.
Slave labor, sweat shops, and trade tricks are the dirty secrets behind SHEIN’s success.
The United Kingdom has a storied tradition of abolitionism, from Wilberforce and Cowper to the
Modern Slavery Act in our day. I trust you will treat these allegations against SHEIN with the
utmost seriousness, investigate them fully, and take appropriate action to protect investors."
The USA are working to ban Shein import tax loophole if they will manage will that not massively affect Boohoo ?
below is from a letter from Marco Rubio to Jeremy hunt
"Bipartisan coalitions in Congress are working to close this trade loophole through bills like my Import Security and Fairness Act"

"Cringeworthy to see you referring to yourself in the third person. Same goes for "Jeremy", your other alter ego"
It is all rather weird as he natters to himself Bon.
Desperate people I suppose
"But then you have the dilema of which is more pathetic. Having multiple accounts or there actually being a living human being(s) who are carrying the torch for a troll.
Both equally pathetic. What is strange tho is Sam continually refers to "tradey" yet has apparently only been a member here since March. No poster of that name has posted here since then as far as I'm aware.
Could be they are all one and the same."
Come off it, Tradey, your posting history as Trading4good was as visible as it was notorious, to both members and non-members. Thirteen thousand posts, easily one third being the most appalling abuse of others. Everyone knows that Trading4good was your username before you were banned, and you returned under Bfdinvestor (including the mods). Cringeworthy to see you referring to yourself in the third person. Same goes for "Jeremy", your other alter ego.

Did you not think you had a bargain when buying 10 times higher than today's sp ????
Excellent start to the day
"I’m buying today to celebrate Daytradenovice’s ban here. Bargain price for BOO. IMHO DYOR GLA"
It's been a so-called bargain for an entire year now, oh wise one. Gone absolutely nowhere, while the board lines their pockets.
I don’t think you will be alone Doug

The Daily Telegraph: Motorists are poised to benefit from a sharp drop in fuel prices over the next 18 months, as analysts predict the cost of oil could fall to $60 a barrel.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/06/13/oil-prices-plunge-to-60-by-end-next-year-boost-for-drivers/
*This would suggest an economic recovery as the price of fuel affects the price of everything.

Shocking indeed the hypocrisy
that is trading4good and his comic aliases

Impressive
"growth drivers"
Where are they
What an awful phrase, saw on a Frontera website this morning
Despite buzz words
Anyone using 'on trend' should be exiled
"Folks are wise to boohoo, this can't be pumped and dumped, it's time as a growth share is over"
One of those zombie shares, a lifestyle vehicle, run purely for the benefit of the board. The existing enrichment scheme already uses dilution as a means. We should have a prediction competition for the number of placings to come.
Dream on
Folks are wise to boohoo, this can't be pumped and dumped, it's time as a growth share is over

Ah, bilespitter has woken up
Shame it's not to reality
Trading4good, why should someone put their hard earned into this?
Good to see the intellectually above all others "financial expert "passing comment.
Made a fortune with ones expertise here has he.🤣
I guess it shows how desperate the BRC are to increase membership
They are, after all, a bricks and mortar focussed influencer group and we all know the direction that is heading
Good to see the supposed non trading trader and the uninvested troll adding the same amount of value intellectually as financially
KG,
I raised the question here yesterday, whats the reason to buy here currently??
Not even worth trading anymore
Think the glory days for this and the likes of Asos are over. It will probably rise slightly but will not get to anywhere near its peak!

Whether he no longer posts through choice or a ban, one thing is undeniable: He did an absolutely sterling job of exposing and countering your arrogance and dogma for what it is. Look at the state of the company and the share price, for God's sake. The fact that you're still banging on about him tells us that he must have really, really, gotten to you.
Oh yeah I've read the Wizz board.
Funny to see daytrade extolling the virtues of a supposed non trading trader and two uninvested single board heroes.

Plugging away the Boohoo lawsuit - maybe a weekly news article.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/boohoo-caused-significant-harm-investors-140000133.html
“The claim represents an opportunity for investors in Boohoo to recover substantial compensation, but also to discharge their stewardship obligations to support robust governance standards across supply chains in the ‘fast fashion’ sector,” Anisha Patel, senior associate at Fox Williams, said in the same statement. “We hope that, by launching claims such as these, investors are able to incentivize U.K. public companies to improve the governance of working conditions and to reduce “blue-washing” in the fashion industry.”
Level, it's a UK firm of solicitors, the quote from the lead lawyer indicates it will be pursued in the UK. It's amusing to see they are trying to position themselves as white knights rather than greedy chancers who won't take responsibility for their own actions. Here's the quote
Andrew Hill, partner at Fox Williams, added: “This is a landmark case that will test the legal framework for securities litigation in the UK and the role of ESG factors in corporate governance and disclosure
BDF - this is a US led lawsuit.
In short the Courts would calculate damages based on the price paid for the stock & the market value of the stock which I presume to be at a given relevant date. Some clarity on this webpage - https://www.herbertsmithfreehills.com/notes/bankinglitigation/2021-07/court-of-appeal-clarifies-proper-approach-to-assessing-damages-for-fraudulent-misrepresentation
These lawsuits for stock loses appear to be gaining ground in the UK but successful ones require some digging around the internet.
Level firstly there were two QC led reviews, Levitt did the first investigation, so atleast get the basics right.
You still haven't answered the key question. These II's all bought pre 2020 so how will they quantify their supposed loss.
As I said previously read the RNS from 2020, they don't state there wasn't an issue. Them maybe go and read the caveat on the Next website. Nobody can guarantee 100% compliance with their supply chain rules.
Poor coasty still can't come to terms with how incredibly dodgy this outfit is. Locked in now for his fourth year, possibly never again to see breakeven. No wonder he's getting all upset. Come on.. even the dogged optimist Level5 has realised the obvious. The sceptics and shorts however seem to have seen the truth years ago.
It’s not Shein but shows they are targeting their area of supply…6% fine of total turnover if found guilty…
Doesn't sound like it's Shein yet.
Probably why they don't produce their supplier list
From the New York Times just now…
Is tradey still at it all day yet again 🥱
Ñext incoming downgrade ?

All the brands up significantly, whereas ASOS is virtually flat
Better targetted marketing would appear to be providing benefit
Maybe it has something to do with Sheins extended lead times
Considering that pretty little thing makes up 1 third of the revenue for the Group that is a pretty significant rise.
This year we could well see a return to growth if this continues.

Sums up the UK government for even trying to convince it to list. One own goal after, not that Labour is any better.
Recommend people check out the Bloomberg podcast "In the City", available on Apple Podcasts and elsewhere. Interesting talk on the mooted Shein IPO, which seems to be exercising the minds of all of us Boohoo shareholders.
I've said all along the the IPO would be an own goal for the LSE and it looks like that view is gaining traction.
Last post: Quakerjon, 11 Jun 2024 08:46
Shein is likely to have many skeletons in its closet - the media will love it, as will the short sellers.
I've said all the way through I want it to happen but don't expect it to.
It just shows the trouble that UK markets are in that so much is made of a company that is aiming to raise £1bn.
With virtually every fund banging on about ESG, it's surely impossible for them to invest in a company that doesn't even list it's suppliers fully
Agreed this isn’t happening, fund managers aren’t interested
Just a measly 50 billion pounds valuation to be underwritten by private investors.... 💷💷💷... No chance....
It will be floated at full value, and just a matter of time before becoming the subject of a short sellers report. With what has happened to boohoo almost makes SHEIN investable, unless Boohoo successfully recovers. Why would major investors put big money in when this is all public record.
Theyd need a discounted placement id say minimum

Equities in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Tuesday as investors' attention shifted to tomorrow's report on inflation in the United States and the interest rate decisions of the Federal Reserve.
Markets seemingly recovered from yesterday's sharp losses after right-wing parties in Austria, France, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, and Spain gained ground in the European Parliament elections. French President Emmanuel Macron dissolved the National Assembly and called for a snap legislative election on June 30 and July 7.
The DAX rose by 0.06% at 8:02 am CET. At the same time, the FTSE 100 grew by 0.22%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.27%. The Eurostoxx 50 gained 0.36%.
The euro and the pound sterling traded flat against the dollar to sell for $1.07665 and $1.27270, respectively, at 8:03 am CET.
