Looks like the doomers and gloomers are out in force today. Trying to get the share price down as far as possible, so they can buy back in. Too obvious.
Kallumama - still spouting the same old stuff. The only vanity is yourself because you don't do any reading and research on online retailers like Boohoo. Only comes on here to spout the same thing over and over again when the share price is down. Would be better off spending time reading and researching shares like Boohoo properly.
If there was a ban on Boohoo which is 99.999% unlikely. All Boohoo has to do is find approved suppliers in US or even start up their own manufacturing in US to get round a ban.
P/e for growth companies like Boohoo are based on future growth potential hence why they're high. Take a look at the p/e for Asos and other online retailers.
Research, research, research is the key to understanding shares and markets.
To those who condemn Boohoo. Could you please check the suppliers of everything you buy, use, investments, shares, before condemning Boohoo.
Do you buy Fairtrade food? If you don't, then you are probably buying food from manufacturers who exploit their suppliers who exploit their workforce.
Do you research where your bank invests their money, where you got your mortgage and where they invest their money?
Do you research your shares and their suppliers?
Do you research where your car was manufactured, where the parts came from to make your car, what the workers are paid, how they are treated?
Do you research where your clothes, shoes are made, the suppliers, how they treat their workers and how much they're paid?
I could go on and on.
Please don't pontificate until you put your own house in order.
The big difference between not checking everything purchased, which would be very time consuming and difficult ,and what investors in BB are doing.i.e. investing in a very badly tainted and in my opinion disgusting business is absolutely huge.
Reppyr - may I suggest you click on Boo Live RNS above and read through everything on there including updates, results, etc., etc and then you'll see what Boohoo are actually doing and have done.
pedro61 - it sounds to me like you haven't done any proper research into Boohoo.
May I suggest you click on Boohoo Live RNS above and read everything on, there, then you'll see what Boohoo are doing and have done to combat bad practices by suppliers.
Boohoo have done and are doing much more to combat bad practices by suppliers than any UK Retailer has ever done.
So we should all be backing and investing in Boohoo because of their determination to combat bad practices by suppliers. We should be congratulating Boohoo for being prepared to do so much against bad practices by suppliers. Boohoo have gone far beyond any UK retailer to combat bad practices by suppliers. Well done Boohoo.
Come on then whats disgusting ? you won't answer because your just shouting platitudes of tosh
I hope they do get banned as it isnt as if they were not given plenty of chances to put their house in order.Profiting from other peoples misery and misfortune can never be justified. They have admitted serious transgressions but how much compensation have the victims received from the company?
Read and research Boohoo to see what they've done and what they're doing to combat bad practices by suppliers. No other UK Retailer has ever done what Boohoo have done and are doing to combat bad practices by suppliers.
Boohoo should be congratulated and not condemned for their ongoing fight and determination to root out bad practices by suppliers.
So Pedro you can't be bothered to check out your own situation just come on here spouting newspaper rehashes. Boo had an enquiry done, from that Boo have set out a plan to eradicate all the problems including improving the Leicester situation. So come on tell us some of the companies you are invested in and let's check them out for you whilst you can't be arsed to do it yourself.
If you get caught and admit transgressions the victims are normally recompensed. How much have Boo paid out to the poor souls that were used and abused?
Pedro Pedro show us where they have admitted serious transgressions. Their suppliers may have transgressed which is why over 60 have been chucked out already. Please get your facts straight and sort your own house out first.
pedro61 - Boohoo have not got caught at anything. Boohoo have not done anything wrong. Their suppliers have done wrong and they're putting this right. Boohoo have provided £10m for their suppliers' workers to help them.
Come on troll what poor souls
pedro61 - read and research Boohoo to find out what they've done to help suppliers' workers.
Boo were paying ridiculously low prices that would have to lead to the situation of people being used andabused. They are a big company with years of being in the Rag trade.Do you suppose they really had no inkling of the economics of the situation?
pedro61 - maybe they did, maybe they didn't. The point is they're putting it right now. That's what matters. Investing in companies who are prepared to learn from their mistakes and go well beyond putting their mistakes right is a worthwhile investment.
You say maybe they did or maybe they didnt. If they did then they should be punished to deter others from the same practices,if we as a society care about these things.
pedro61 - there is no evidence so you can't be punished without evidence. This is how a just society works.
You clearly don't understand that this has happened in the past to other retailers like Primark and Nike. Many, many UK and worldwide retailers didn't do and don't do sufficient checks on their suppliers' workers.
Primark and Nike never did what Boohoo are doing to put it right. Boohoo should be congratulated for going well beyond what they needed to do to put it right.
Re the efforts to date made by Boo vs others like Primark and Nike - In case you missed my earlier post, here is a useful article: https://www.thetwentiestrader.com/post/can-boohoo-shares-survive-a-potential-us-import-ban
You say they have learned a lesson and tried to put the mistakes right.Thats good if that is correct, but they have still benefitted hugely from those past mistakes. They have made many millions from past practices. When will the downtrodden and abused workers be recompensed for their suffering? Or does nobody really care as long as they have received their profits?
pedro61 - there is no evidence at all to prove or suggest that Boohoo benefitted from their mistakes. Boohoo have provided £10m for suppliers' workers.
Are you really saying that they did not benefit? And do you honestly deep down really believe that?
pedro61 - there is no evidence to prove or suggest that Boohoo benefitted in any way from these past mistakes. It looks to me like it was the suppliers themselves who benefitted from treating their workers badly.
pedro61, presumably any company benefiting from very advantageous cost price of goods for resale will be making extra profit and therefore paying a greater amount of corporation tax and VAT margin. Are you directing any of your concern to the various agencies funded from taxation that failed to make much impression on working conditions in Leicester over many years?
