Merger update RNS issued.
Scott is leaving in December, amongst other things...
Good news... Avalon will be top dog in this merger.
Seems that Mikhail meant it when he said the following on 12.11.19 when viewed in the context of this RedT announcement:
"We really like the management team that Avalon brings. We like some of the expertise that RedT has developed"
Good to see this backed up with action which presumably is designed to increase the efficiency of the management of RedT.
Looks to be just the move on board changes we were all hoping for. Avalon led and significantly reduced costs. Good move
Excellent.. getting rid of the red deadwood...
As a RedT investor the Avalon "merger" is a way to see that my investment at least has some value going forward. Whether big sales, if they happen, are going to see a share price over the emergency fund raising price of 2p in March , I have my doubts. I am pleased that BMN and it's consortium of investors and the VIP platform are planning to underpin the VRFB concept with more than a supplier of electrolyte. Lots can happen tho before the ink is dry on the paper.

Great photo taken by one of our install team of a redT Gen 3 #FlowMachine being delivered to site in #EastAnglia earlier this morning. #EnergyStorage #Decentralised #Energy

'FlowMachine' - angers me every time I see it. And no VRFB / Vanadium tags.
Time their marketing dept. started pulling in the same direction as other OEMs
I shouldn't worry about it will all go the same way as Scott has
Yes : SUPER VANADIUM FLOW BATTERIES = LET THE ENERGY FLOW
I find it difficult to believe that CEO of RedT, Scott McGregor, who claims to be passionate about clean energy has spelt emissions incorrectly on his twitter homepage, that's just careless.
https://twitter.com/Scott__McGregor
Only thing he was passionate about was extracting cash and Camco
maybe, just maybe Bolgas got this one right in the end
Mmm... capa has that certain unmissable style that never changes!
Changing the subject... I can see the idea of wanting to get away from having ‘battery’ in the title due to obvious connotations and perceptions of batteries having a short life... when in fact this does exactly the opposite and meets the ‘holy grail’ of never degrading even after over 25 years, maybe even 30 yrs of thousands of constant charging cycles.
Why would anyone outside the industry be interested in the differences between a solid state battery and a flow battery at first blush. Knowledge of that massive technical difference isn’t necessary, it’s what it’s function is and what it’s capable of is doing and how long it’s capable of doing it for would be more important to a customer than how it achieves it imo.
My choice would be to move away from either of the current descriptions.... VESS would be my favourite term... Vanadium Energy Storage Station.
VESS - I like it lindon
vrfb doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue
Marketing is key whether that’s a more memorable word or word of mouth, more marketing needed!
Go back to 1945 VE Day. So let’s have another VE Day vanadium energy which is going to revolutionise Africa. & possibly the World.
VRFB is the term that has been adopted by all those involved with the Vanitec Energy Storage Committee
fair enough vrfb it is, then I’d like to see vesc promoting more, do we have a contact there in charge of marketing?
happy to get involved
maxwell - their content is shown here:- http://vanitec.org/vanadium/VRFB - this is produced by Lifa communications in collaboration between the VRFB manufacturing community and the chairman of the Vanitec Energy Storage Committee, one Mikhail Nikomarov.
There are plans in development to increase the cross-industry marketing of VRFBs.
Personally I think 'V Battery' is a more marketing friendly wording or VFB... VRFB is just a tad more awkward. However, we are not selling to Jo Blo consumer but as a new B2B industry there Is, it would appear, quite a lot of educating to be done and as the industry grows marketing teams will settle on a common wording/phrase.
Bella - the Vanitec Energy Storage Committee, under Mikhail, has been working on precisely this issue since 2017 as you can see here:-
https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/blog/public-articles-1/post/vanitec-3rd-energy-storage-meeting-part-3-173
and https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/blog/public-articles-1/post/vanitec-4th-energy-storage-meeting-part-2-275
The end conclusion was (in my words) " a single name had to be chosen to describe the single thing we are all trying to bring to the world, and this name is 'VRFB'. Vanitec cannot impose this on any other organisation who in principle they can carry on using what their own pet name might happen to be, but as far as Vanitec is concerned from now on they are going to use the term 'VRFB'. To be honest, from now on so should anyone else who is keen to encourage this industry."
Alfacomp... Gotchya... My post was based on my personal opinion but as you quite rightly say Vanitec chips have fallen in favour of VRFB which is good but I was just saying VFB flows a tad better...haha..please excuse the terrible pun!!!
