Morning Prof. Will the Riksdag be as appalled as we are? Will the opposition have I field day...I hope so.
I imagine the Swedish shareholding ratio will drop when they finally realise what a corrupt and incompetent government runs the country
Tomorrow is Down ? Covid virus is what s tomorrow brings and that s DEATH AND DESPAIR TO US ALL ?
Usual Covid news the market is going DOWN BIG TIME NO RNS IS GOING TO SAVE YOU OR BEM ? Virus has taken over ?
Good work turning up that RNS. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
Evie eve. x
Hello, this is Ibrahim.
Just to say I have run out of excuses to stop you from benefitting from our ore, so expect an after hours RNS
In Sweden back down to August levels and falling. Nothing will happen this year now. Baylan can coast through to the next election and his next ministerial sinecure.
With no end in sight to the virus, (e has the ideal excuse to do nowt for his overly generous salary and pension. Sweden is a busted fl7sh as is BEM as an investment.
And my last words were... "Anything to keep a fragile grip on power". The fact is, they are short sighted, and if they put it beyond the reach of BEM, then it's put beyond the reach of every mining company, including LKAB.
The fact is, other than ANI, which has so far proven pointless/worthless, the area has no other designation - It's that simple.
The swedes aren’t losing anything. There is no mine or revenue stream and the ore is still in the ground, in Sweden - waiting for a trouble free time to liberate it. This is not going to be the time.
What they do stand to lose right now is political power. So much more vital to a politician than a non-existent mine.
As I stated earlier, the government could potentially lose this asset in perpetuity if it goes down that route... Anything to keep a fragile grip on power.
Let's hope its's a spectre from the past.... pretty unsettling though I agree.
A response from KB would be helpful... I am anticipating an RNS at some point.
2019 was date
boo
Thanks EricDraven... I knew it was there somewhere...
I Meant the RNS was from 30 June 2017, with details of events prior to that date.
This is a good info RNS re HIA and background of events from 30 June 2017:

Yes Pocko, in 2017 we followed the UNESCO guidelines for completing our Heritage Impact Assessment, even though an HIA was not a requirement in the concession process. We provided this additional information to further support our concession application.
Some very useful and informative posts today from the sane members of our BEM community. Thanks guys.
Its seem that despite rhetoric the politics is more powerful than the law.
To make it interesting rather than all the legal threats against a government (which i think most of us agree would mean financial bankruptcy for a company of our size) if the report show that a certain party of the green persuasion was using politics to block the decision than as everyone agreed ,( including said party), that the law was enough.
would this not be enough to bring the green party to court for violating Swedish law ? might be a better outcome than the government and looking at the green party fiances would probably be more on a par with our levels .
Might make them take stock on the whole situation.
Just a different tack for consideration ;)

Evening. lbjj/Pocko, the known facts are… Kallak has been known to hold iron ore since the 1940’s. Laponia was awarded WHS status in the 1990’s – a decision, years in its making. Are we to assume that successive Governments have made a colossal unforced error, if a boundary (buffer zone) is somehow meaningless? Mind you, I don’t suppose that stopped KB asking some very important questions before he jumped aboard. Imo. atb
Yes, absolutely ha ha.
I fully believe the lack of engagement over the years by the swedes has led to a situation where the reality is that Baylan, Lofve, the CAB, MI and Uncle Tom Cobley and all literally do not know where they are at with this or who is functionally responsible for the process, the decision, or indeed the future of mining in Sweden.
Meanwhile, very clear and concise mining legislation lies dormant.
I think we can agree that this has been around the houses several times... Does anyone really know?
Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear. It was included in the original application, but not in the legal review of the application of 2019, which was commissioned after the ANI for reindeer herding and the obfuscation over the buffer zone around the Laponia borders.
I’d check your facts my man... UNESCO has definitely featured in our exploitation application... The issue has been covered previously. I don’t disagree with your sentiment however...
