The latest opinion poll from Sentio gives the lead (0.2) to the Sweden Democrats.
Yes...he's been all of those things, mainly unresponsive. Mr Damberg on the other hand perhaps said too much; we had after Christmas, before Easter, after the Summer holidays, etc. Then...reindeer and mining can coexist because they already do, as well as The Book and The Law and he was moved...to Justice.
No surprise you don’t agree with me Suzy2. You are certainly on the button there!
However, in his 3 years in post, Baylan has been unprofessional, uncommunicative, unresponsive, evasive, duplicitous, full of half truths and empty encouragement.
He has had more than the required amount and quality of information in the company’s application to have made the decision at any time in his tenure.
The law pertaining to mining applications is clear and the company’s submission meets all criteria.
He hasn’t, and he won’t make a decision, because neither a yes nor a no is of use to him in his little bubble of self aggrandisement.
He has been and continues to be a fraud and a charlatan. A disgrace to his ministerial status.
I am not surprised he is astonished that he has been allowed to operate in high office. As vacuous as he is, even he knows he’s massively out of his depth.
There have to be reasons why this decision has taken so long....the application which was supposed to take 'about a year' could have been decided when Annie Loof was the Minister responsible, but it wasn't. It could have been decided when the Social Democrats came to power in their first term before the January Agreement. Mr Damberg said re the Laponia that "the law is enough" and that it would be decided "by the book"...but it wasn't. All we know is that they've strung us along, year in year out with what can only be described as untruths.
Ibjj...I don't agree with you..there's a surprise. Lol
Yes, true. He should maybe have asked for a move then Sooz.
Suzy2,
He had no intention of making a decision before his announcement, so he will not give a second’s thought to it between now and November. He will be coasting into his next sinecure while trousering a handsome severance cheque and pension benefits.
He has all the statesman like qualities of a part time librarian.
He's still the Minister responsible until November when the new PM is elected...plenty time then to deliver the verdict he promised to give after the UNESCO report..
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest...he's looked desperately unhappy in his roll as Minister for Enterprise and Industry...and it's not difficult to imagine why that would be.
Lb, of course you could be right, but for the sake of balance, the decision could and should come well before the next election, all factors known and all comments in.
I remember posting about a government reshuffle as a means to delay making a decision during the life of this current administration.
The only difference here is that Baylan is retiring and he comes up with this gem....
"I could not in my wildest imagination imagine that I would get to be part of as much as I was allowed to be part of, he says."
Even he was surprised at the level he was allowed to operate and he failed miserably.
The underlying problem is not the useless Baylan, it's the whole rotten corrupt government of the day and that includes the two faced self-righteous sanctimonious leftwing Greens.
Can't see any progress here this side of the Christmas recess and probably not until the next election.
Löfven's disappearance in a couple of months won't change a thing.
This is still a cobbled together minority government looking for someone to steer them through to September 2022 and hopefully to oblivion thereafter.
We can only wait until the next puppet steps up.
Invest in Sweden........why?
And how long will it take the next incompetent bureaucratic clone to find the application file and give it his / her consideration?
No chance of a decision until after the next election, with or without Baylan.
Plus the new bod has the age old excuse of “ I wasn’t here when all this happened “
Andy, thanks for sharing that. He's been woeful for us, so I'm pleased he's moving on.
Morning.. Well now, this does have the feel of a ‘jump before being pushed’ type of understanding with others.. Perhaps not! However, the last thing the Kallak proposals need now is, a decision made by a ministry, then the Minister gets fired because an investigation showed that the minister did in fact, withhold information to fit political objectives.. Marvellous!!! Imo only atb..
No TinTin - leaving politics in November.
He presumably is going for prime minister job?
What a surprise - he messes up and then exits stage left.
Hhhmmmm indeed

Our application comment deadline was only two days ago, so it's doubtful the Swedish Government has told him anything yet that he can report back to us. We know our comments were in early, and that news was obviously recent, so we must give him a chance to bring us any further news.
Only my view Roller.
Thanks Bri. Good read that. Difficult to believe that with all of those plans for a greener Sweden our project can be overlooked.
Atb.
Surely our fearless leader should let us know what is happening if anything..
Good point that Treetop.
Lbjj have you any other hobbies?
