Very nice... I make that over £400 mill in disposals easily in a short space of time. The CEO certainly delivers on his promises

Helicopter arm facing break-up at Bab**** in deal that could be worth £400m
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-9980813/Helicopter-arm-facing-break-Bab****.html
I dont even think we will need to hold this for a year or two. I think a bid might be on the way. It has been quite volatile for some time now!
Tempting to sell and get back in on the drop but could be suckered into it so holding fire until it really flies... Long term hold... As in when dividends arrive in a year or two... Should be at a decent level by then
What the heck.... Same trend as yesterday... Tanking down to about 3.32 then a sudden burst into the 3.40s in an instant ...waiting for it to drop back down again gradually.. Weird behaviour
Yep, somebody really knows something?
My thoughts matched this but market is up this morning and it’s plummeting. This share makes no sense in regards to trends. Market has been hit recently so I expected the drop but end up ok yesterday when the market was down and today it’s up and it’s down 3%.
It does seem to have that aura. The price target increase. The topping up of some big buys. Maybe the rumours will come to light.
All I’m going to say is there is no official news on this stock to correlate with the way it’s been acting. Someone knows something, happy to hold based on that alone.
Anyone know any news, just jumped dramatically up after a day in the negative?
JPMORGAN RAISES BAB**** INTERNATIONAL TARGET TO 445 (440) PENCE - 'OVERWEIGHT'
JEFFERIES RAISES BAB**** INTERNATIONAL PRICE TARGET TO 450 (425) PENCE - 'BUY'
Bab**** sells Aberdeen offshore aviation business
The sale is part of Bab****'s targeted disposal programme, which aims to generate at least £400 million of proceeds. Proceeds from the transaction will be used to reduce net debt.
The Oil price was at $110 and they were raking in cash and big profits but the world has changed. I don't think it was a bad deal was subject to various factors in Bab**** had no clue how to run a complex aviation business and ran it into the ground. Normally in aviation you appoint strong aviation leaders Bab**** never got that concept.
I agree that Avincis must have laughed all the way to the bank but the offshore business was not lucrative before the downturn and was still potentially profitable if they had ran it correctly.
It's an awful deal by way of purchasing it in the first place. Shockingly Bad
However, it had now gone and is written off and, as you say, Bab no longer will incur any liabilities.
The trend is looking strong for the SP and I believe we shall see 400 p soon
They didn't buy the Offshore business for £1.6b they bought Avincis group for £1.6bn. The Offshore market was part of that sale but they ran it into the ground with poor management. The Oil and Gas downturn did not help but they really made no effort and constantly blamed it for poor Q result. £10m is a steal when you consider the turnover and how Bab**** loaded it with large corporate costs! This is just the start of the aviation business being sold off next will be HEMs.
(LSE of course has remoevd the offensive part of the name. The story is from: CityAM)
Am I reading this right (https://www.cityam.com/bab****-sells-helicopter-business/) ?
"Bab****, the British defence and engineering business, has sold off its helicopter operations branch for £10m after purchasing it for £1.6bn in 2014."
Apart from not having to continue absorbing the annual loss of that division, how is that a good deal?
Bab****, the international aerospace, defence and security company, has completed the sale of its Oil and Gas aviation business to CHC Group, LLC (CHC) for a cash consideration of £10 million.
Bab**** is hugely undervalued. If you just keep the shares in your bottom drawer and forget about it, you will be at least 50% up in 12 months time (if no bids come in that is). All IMO!
Just remember, No comment from Bab****, Normally a company would say that no talks are taking place of a takeover if the SP is going up, we have had nothing from Bab**** which is good to hear, so chance's are , something is going on.
i am still down on Bab**** after getting spiked last year and refused to buy more and i am not selling.
Yet anothe broker raises their price target today, this time BARCLAYS - has Bab as 'OVERWEIGHT' (EQUAL-WEIGHT) - PRICE TARGET 424 (315) PENCE.
I was nearly out at 3.85 this morning, had my finger on the button... Staying put now
I certainly would not want to be out over the long weekend.
Broken 380 before the weekend then :-).. Hope it stays on the Howard trend now
