Super 2-3 year chart wish I'd bought at 3500, look at all road building and house building sites, I will buy 10% of holdings again at 4500 and offload 10% at 6000, what a great company...
Tail spinning now
typical
Be interesting to see what happens when US opens.
Agree with all points made.
Ref' USA.... Yes, and quite a few companies looking at either dual listing or a total move to USA this year and worth pursuing. Of course, as usual, plenty of doom sayers saying it's all lining up for a crash and others saying opposite! Again, crystal ball please. ;-) Have a great weekend
Yam, the share continues to go from strength to strength and that is because it trades in the usa predominantly. If I look across my pf the only shares doing well are international/usa focussed. The UK are all doing very badly and when I look at our country I can see why. We are becoming a basket case it seems !
Taverham..... you timed your top up well last month. Well done. I must get my @$$ back in gear and trade more. Ive got lazy lately. At least my profits are still increasing with this reliable company. It's been a strain lately...as with most equities. Also, as we know, when interest rates decline people will be willing to 'gamble ' on stocks. Future beckons. GLA
Aeon, I think the announced change in reporting in USD is the first step in re listing in USA.
Transport sector price pivot break today , is bullish. AHT, price history is volatile, meaning that evidence of the sp, finding support above 5000, might be advisable, before taking a position in the equity. I notice that the chart indicator Williams%R, on a weekly bar chart , seems to provide quite good indication of when to buy, or sell, on AHT. Like any technical indicator, interpretation , is the key. Generally the lower level is oversold and the higher level is overbought .
The mere suggestion that TUI might delist from the LSE sends the shares up 10%.
AHT makes about 90% of its profits in the U.S.
Just a thought.
Week commencing 27th Nov.
Clear overreaction. will bounce.
1 step forward, 2 ...make that 3 steps back. Groan!
What forecast did I make?
Topped up with another £2k - drop way overdone for one off factors imv.
Your post on 15th Pott must rank as one of the worst ever for accurate forecasting.
It buys companies upon companies, building up debts, foggy accounting. Always an accident waiting to happen.
Rubbish update today which will affect sp in short term. Next year should be great so fingers crossed the market will see that the strike and disaster reductions are one offs.
Hopefully on its way back up to the 60,000 price range. I guess the performance of the US economy/outlook for 2024 holds the key.
....very interesting 2 days with this sp.
Sp, Bullish pivot break today . Unfortunately there is overhead supply from volume trading between 5060-5090, which would be expected to absorb volume from any attempt to push the equity higher.
Hi Taverham. Public spending is no problem for governments. After all, it's only the publics money they're spending innit. Lol. Moving tax payers money to the wealthy. Keep telling my kids to find a niche where it's gov funded and they will prosper. Am I getting too cynical...or too old. Oh yeah, it's both ;-) have fun guys x
Dedino, hope you bought earlier cos you'd be 6% up by now.....and maybe more as the day progresses. I gave up trading a while ago but maybe I should make the effort again. Lazy punters don't make it. Good luck all. Off to golf, lol
Yam, the positive story for Uk is that it has two sectors with great companies, oil and gas and house builders. Both are so good at cash generation they are being milked by the government to pay for out of control public spending, hs2 being best example. The dearth of investors is caused by the treasury and the mobs who want us to return to the stone age.
Sell on news and buyback after the drop, great company
Reuters reported
Ashtead Group's shares (AHT.L) fell 5.2% to the bottom of FTSE 100 after the company lowered its annual UK rental revenue growth forecast, citing softening market conditions
How much business is in the UK, 5% ?
In the US where they do 90% (I think) of their business, much brighter picture. Mega projects.
So why did the price fall ? Do people just read one sentence and ignore all the rest ?
