Whirlpool have dropped out leaving Middleby's 185p offer accepted by BoD
have whirlpool withdrawn their offer ?
I was told than if there's a takeover then the bidder must clear the pension deficit I know they are contributing £20 million but will this clear the deficit ?
Good price, more than expected and an all cash offer too. Good result.
Can anyone make sense of the recent flurry of RNSs?
The late afternoon tick is telling
Apologies if anyone feels this post is inappropriate, but it does relate to the Aga product. I bought a new £10k+ four oven Aga (with balanced flue) about 20 months ago. After about two months the flue started making a high-pitched whining noise. The fan was replaced, then again after a couple of months it started again. 4 fans later I still have the same problem. On the basis that some shareholders are likely to be Aga owners I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone else has had the same problem?
From 'This is Money': PUBLISHED: 22:21, 17 June 2015 | UPDATED: 22:21, 17 June 2015 Rumours that a mouth-watering deal was cooking at AGA Rangemaster have been doing the rounds for weeks and helped the upmarket cooker-maker favoured by Great British Bake Off expert Mary Berry, rally from an April low of 78.5p. The speculative pot boiled over yesterday when the Leamington Spa-based firm said it has received a bid approach from Middleby Corporation, a global leader in cooking equipment. Talks are at an early stage and there is no certainty that any formal offer will be made. Under Takeover Rules, Illinois-based Middleby now has until 5pm on July 15 either to put up or shut up. AGA’s shares bubbled up to 141.5p before closing 31.25p better at 135.5p, valuing the company at £92million. AGA said in March that it would consider a strategic tie-up or merger or acquisition to create a company with the scale needed to deal with the soaring liabilities of its near-£1billion final-salary pension scheme. Shareholders have had to whistle for a dividend for the past three years. The board needs the consent of the pension trustee to pay a dividend and hasn’t even asked. Major shareholders JO Hambro Capital (10.9 per cent), River & Mercantile (8.22 per cent) and Hargreave Hale (6.19 per cent) must be licking their lips at the prospect of a cash bid. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-3128718/MARKET-REPORT-Heat-AGA-takeover-upmarket-cooker-maker-confirms-bid-approach.html
Yes. But let us bask in the rise for a while first.
rest assured, you will be able to buy back when the hype dies down and no deal is done. Going to be a while yet
not in here,so that's 25% more than me.lol.gla
I may have been a bit too quick off the mark but 25% profit in a few months is 25% profit in a few months!
The Middleby Corporation (MIDD) today announced that its board of directors is in preliminary discussions regarding a possible cash offer for AGA Rangemaster Group plc. These discussions are at a very early stage and there can be no certainty that any formal offer will be made, or as to the terms of any offer. A further announcement will be made when appropriate. The Middleby Corporation is a global leader in the foodservice equipment industry. The company develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad line of equipment used in the commercial foodservice, food processing, and residential kitchen equipment industries. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/middleby-corporation-responds-acquisition-speculation-135200641.html
Anony Mous 17 Jun'15 - 15:20 - 776 of 776 0 0 I reckon £125m mkt cap over 69.2m shares. Maybe 1.85 to 1.90 approx. Tbh I expect counter bid since some divisions are very strong indeed. Much higher.
Moving fast here now.
