Anyone got any idea if joining the ftse250 will likely have a positive or negative affect on the sp?

I am going to buy a little bit in Ophir today with the idea of holding for quite a while. Have you had a look at Aex. Although I am losing on the stock at the minute I am very hopeful to make a decent profit in the next couple of months. Some knowledgeable posters on the bb both for and against, notably tiptop and kev4 ( Imo they know more about the O&G sector that a lot of posters ) . worth doing a bit of research on .

Good realistic posts today. Wise not to get carried away too quickly and for no obvious apparent reason just yet. Looks good and I intend to hold for as long as it takes to turn a decent profit. The word " boom" on posts I find irritating. ( it was used by the world and its wife on the African minerals Bb before I took a roasting as it went bust.)

Bought this morning at 139p. Utv are funny shares which seem to ebb and flow quite a lot over the years. Hopefully they can generate a decent amount of advertising as more money becomes available to the big boys. I would like those nice people at utv to return me a nice 50% profit by Christmas.

Bought in here at 319 on Friday. More luck than skill. Had been watching spire for a while and like the look of it as a long term hold. Denial of full blown takeover along with mediclinic. I would say atm. Good chance maybe in the future.

These, shares were tipped as a buy in the press a lot of weeks ago at around 190p . Thought I had missed my opportunity when they went over £2. Couldn't resist buying at 178p. Dividend is very attractive. Hope it is sustainable. Good medium to long term hold I think.

These shares are a reasonably safe bet ( if there is such a thing ) to trundle upwards. Add in the top end 5.47% divi and it must be very tempting. Just bought in today.

This seems to be a nice under the radar stock. Things seem to be turning round nicely according to management and I think the only way , in the medium term , for this is up. Very well priced at the minute Imo

Looks to be decent potential here. Obviously a lot of risk involved , as with all the mining and oil minnows, but possible high reward. Anyone any idea when they will hit £1 . Lol

I agree. I think it will eventually come back to around £4 through time. Maybe it's a good time to get my average down in my case. Nice to see someone doing well in the decimated oil sector. Maybe I was a tad harsh on the aim market. There are obviously some decent stocks but they certainly are hard to find. I have been bitten a few times now. If lucky enough some serious money could be made.

These shares " surged " to just over £3.25 a matter of days ago , on what grounds I have no idea, then this announcement ! Don't you just love the aim market. Better off going to a casino.

Hope so. I bought around 6 months ago at 16p when malcy thought they were easily worth 50p. I did a little bit of research and thought I was on to a winner. Wrong. Bought again today at 3.8p ( not huge amounts ) but am hopeful of a decent turnaround. Prepared to wait at least 12 months.

The electric car has been around for quite a few years now. Do you know 2 people that own one? Oil and gas will be needed for a very long time. No point over dramatising things.
