OK, thanks for clarifying. That differs slightly from the broker note we saw yesterday which stated
"If AFC Energy is able to advance its solid membrane to a stage of development comparable to that of its liquid fuel cell technology, we would expect there to be a market for the solid membrane . "
The if suggests there is a bit more work to do on longevity, although I don't know the date of that brokers note relative to the RNS you quoted?
In which case what is required is long-term testing of the membrane in a range of uses to test for longevity, which is the liquid electrolyte electrode is anything to go by could be much of 2020?
Contrary to comments I saw earlier, the worked seller here is 100% done. Those other large prints were not part of that !!
Afternoon Nickel. So what were those other trades? Have we had two regular sellers, is someone trading large amounts, or what?
Bumble, on the RSP you had repeat orders reloading on the ask all the way down to day before yesterday (late afternoon). I think some forget that this is a higher volume AIM stock which is not just held by investors but is traded constantly by players. These guys and girls are not all playing with pocket money - selling a 100,000 or 200,000 block is their bread and butter ! Also, if i put in a large sell order in the morning MMs are going to work it hence action. Anyway, look at the close (and after i posted)... it rose with those matched trades (not just buys!).
Thank-you. How long had that been going on for, the repeat orders I mean? Days, weeks?
BumbleB,
Re: "The if suggests there is a bit more work to do on longevity, although I don't know the date of that brokers note relative to the RNS you quoted?"
The RNS I quoted was from 11 November.
https://www.investegate.co.uk/afc-energy-plc--afc-/rns/anionic-exchange-membrane-update/201911110700068789S/
If I recall correctly, the consistency on the book the day after the last rns
Have a good evening and good informed discussion on here by the way. This really does have legs this one
haggis, yes, it was the brokers note I am uncertain of, date-wise.
BumbleB,
Fuelcellinvestor posted on this thread:
"As I posted last night, all of NI's posts are cut and pasted from the WH Ireland broker note from 11th November"
So the same date as the RNS.
I'm sticking with the wording in the RNS, as that's straight from the horse's mouth.
So will we see a biggish delayed trade? The bid/ask crimped up close to the bell.
OK, thanks haggis. In which case demonstrating is likely to be a drawn-out process, taking over a year, as was the case for the liquid electrodes, and of course we would need to see if it is successful. Excuse my caution on this, I have been here almost ten years too....
I would hope we would get an RNS informing us when these trials start, as I would also like to see an RNS informing us of the movements of the 20 kW demonstrator unit.
Adam Bond gave a talk today to the British Parking Association, look at the list of members....
You a member then Mitch? Most of us gravitate to the RSPB or National Trust :-).
Thanks for that. I take it they are members rather than attendees.
BB
I’m not a member, the list appears to be members rather than attendees, there was a post on here and a link to the meeting on their website. May have flown under the radar but they have now removed the link from the events calendar.
I asked about Alkamem in the Q and A last Friday.
Adam said it is available now for potential purchase.
That it was being tested for various performances.
Most of these boxes were ticked, but ongoing testing for some things (he didn't specify what).
However, I imagine that any longevity testing would be specific to the customer application/conditions, so would be up to them. AFC couldn't test for everyone's conditions.
He also said that for customers asking questions about it longevity was not one of the things they were asking about.
So my take on this is that it does not require long term further testing before it is a commercial product, but it is up to the customer to see it it meets their specific needs. For this it is available now.
Actually Richlist you're correct. He did say it was available now.
Available now for testing?
It must be, otherwise the brokers note/RNS would not be written up as they are?
Availble to order now...but not for delivery now ...2022 ?
"The AlkaMemTM membrane is available for license and joint development applications in various thicknesses. The table below provides details of the key technical specification that AlkaMemTM can provide."
The word "is" not "will" , to me means it's available now.
Adam made it clear on Friday that samples had been sold to customers to test in their own applications. There was a brief additional comment on questionning that new users of AlkaMem may need to adjust tooling/ products to adapt to the membrane so orders from customers would take time. Longevity was not an issue and not for AFC to test for as there were so many applications that even they didn't know of. That is my memory of the discussion....hope it helps
The membrane is available for different customers to test now. The 2022 date is for its use in a high power fuel cell.
Looking at my notes I have written and under lined twice that it requires longevity testing.
I took that to mean the membrane in customers facilities. The other possibility is that it refers to its lifespan in the high power fuel cell.
When i asked the question on Patents I was sure that he said its not been sent out to customers yet but available to purchase from Richlists question. I assumed it hadn't been sent out until patent received. But that may not be correct.
