Dividents payment tomorrow, from what I've seen jumps after dividents paid, someone put loads of money in the last 2 dates I was watching, it was strong buy day, which indicates the price will be pushed up
Peel Hunt reiterated buy 2800 target, 35% increase
Liberium capital another buy rating today, the same 35% up prognosis
After the fantastic results - to my mind - in November it dropped 8% and |I topped up. We all know it dropped another 20%! Great company, commensurately expensive. For me this further drop is a rare chance to get in at a better price than normal, and I topped up again at the end of December. Up a bit since then and I expect (of course since I bought) an ongoing rise - probably steady up to previous levels perhaps by March/April. At a guess a pause then, before an interesting autumn: but I wouldn't risk coming out over the summer, personally. Before you ask I can't justify any of this, it is my best guess, coming from a gradually deepening (frequently painful!) experience. I'm now very cautious on this kind of thing since I lost a lot on ACSO topping up on the way down, down, down. Still can't fathom that, but fathom is the right word, it is fathoms down. ABDP is a company I plan to hold for the long term, and my guess is now may be the best chance to get in/increase. Stockop*dia gives it a forward P/E of 29, which is cheap for them. ATB!
I don't wish to dwell on road accidents but the one i reported on 22nd december about THREE PENSIONERS being knocked down up here, two men who both died within hours and a woman survivor was hardly commented upon. Today, 8th Jan 2020, i have heard, unofficially, that one gentleman was a D DAY VETERAN at the age of 17, survived all the fighting on the beaches, through France, Belgium, Holland and into Germany and was among the first units to arrive at Belsen. We still don't know how a driver of a modern car, a Ford Kugar, could not see three pedestrians at an early evening time of 8.30 pm. in a 30 mph zone. ----- Yours, Max.
Anyone going to the Shareholders' meeting next Wednesday?
Would be good to get some feedback on where they're going, and perhaps shed some light on the gradual slide in the SP since the annual results.
I want to top up, but it's a sea of red this morning, so I think I'll wait for the new year.
Happy New Year, folks.
BBC report from Northern Ireland today, Monday 23rd Dec.
Gavin Patton spends his days grappling with the dangers of cyber-warfare.
The 23-year-old graduate engineer works in a Cyber Range at Queen's University's Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), a virtual environment that emulates the threats that can emerge in the "real world".
"Companies can bring in their security employees to take part in different scenarios that we have created in order to test their defence and attack strategies," he said.
"We have created multiple scenarios where the red team have to hack in and the blue team have to stop them from getting in - you have got hackers and defenders.
"It is a great way for companies to develop their employees skills in attack and defence!
----- Yours, Max.
Dear Colleagues; I posted a comment about the work that the company is engaged in and among the text I mentioned that their research may help restrain speeding by drivers.
I regret that on Friday last ( I understand the police call it "Mad Friday") that three pensioners in my quiet area were Knocked Down, all taken to hospital and two of them died soon after. A man thought to be in his eighties and one in his seventies, a woman survived with serious injuries. Their families and the family of the car driver must all be in shock. My family and I had been celebrating a double birthday event nearby and were turned back by police and told to find another way home. Had this occured in London I think it would have been top news but up here almost no infoormation has been divulged. A question of "NEED to KNOW" perhaps or the citizens up here don'count ? ----- Yours, Max.
Broker reiteration of £28 is good news. The current SP Should recover well. imo
The Final Reprt is the most comprehensive company report I have ever tried to read. It doesn't dwell on the good points or the bad points. I much prefer to read the text than the figures, not being an accountant. I believe Dr Routh has marshalled his forces spendidly to report on the various elements of the companies work over the year and to look into events foreshadowed. Looming, of course, is the renewable energy that poeple are demanding worldwide, including not just electric vehicles but hydrogen driven vehicles. The company are already working on vehicles which don't kill poeple so often, perhaps including methods of restraing drivers from speeding. I wish them good luck with their research which is set to keep them at the forefront of their sector of the automotive industry, including the introduction of new materials. We know the Chairman, Mr Best is interested in the work of Manchester University, perhaps the company should provide a Chair in the Physics Department there. ----- Yours, Max.
With Alibaba this is probably the best investment long term.. It's all going AI and this guy's are top of the league
Ok - I wasn't expecting that . . . . Great news, but dropping so much? It will climb back up again slowly and I'm here for the long term. Still a great company, doing the right things in the right places.
Agreed and also topped up.
Dividend raised by 20%: that shows confidence, they normally increase by 10% - never this much. Yes, I'm happy.
A PE of 72.1 might put some investors off - until a bit of realism sets in
Just bought some to tuck away in my SIPP @ 2600p. Showing as a sell so maybe all those sells in last hour or so are also buys.
I cant see anything not to like in the numbers today but an 8% selloff...Assuming profit taking so have added on the weakness. What does anyone else think ?
Rosy R. The Seven Days you set out before the results on 27th Nov are almost up today the 26th. Hold tight for tomorrow and even if the results do not show any escalation in earnings etc we might see some consolidation from recent additions. More buys reported than seels so far this AM, so heres hoping ! ----- Yours, Max.
Hi Max - I can’t add anything more than what’s on the Investors section of the ABDP website, but I believe that the purchasing decisions being made by the Board are strategically well-placed and will be very rewarding.
Rosey R. I do believe you are right The two recent acquisitions are probably contributing more now. The company with the test track in California was well described on purchase, but I must have missed the info regarding the purchase of rFpro. Do you have any thoughts on this company ? ----- Yours, Max.
I'd like to think that the share price (after the wobble today) will steadily rise in anticipation of some excellent results on the 27th. And stay there, or climb further . . .
Some good points . In the UK we have a less positive view of small caps. They need to be throwing off profit and dividends otherwise they arent credible seemingly whereas in the US smaller firms are encouraged to grow using debt. There are hundreds out there but Amazon, Microsoft etc etc were all high loss making firms for years but had the financial support to run the full race. GIve UK PLC more rope I say
Liberum have often appeared to me to be a Broker of utmost circumspect, genuinely seeking
to issue their thoughts and predictions moderately but fairly accurately. However, given the
present global sell off, instigated I do believe by the strained atmosphere between the USA
and China, and more recently between USA and EURO ZONE flaring up following yesterdays
statement by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) many Brokers might not wish to take part
in forecasting the near future prospects of a company. However, I do wish to stress my thoughts
are amateur in the extreme, I did wonder why the seemingly auspicious and timely acquisition
in California recently was not appreciated to the extent it deserved. ----- Yours, Max.
Let's hope it reaches Liberum's target price . . .
SmokeyRose. Your timing is impeccable
No. I’m hoping that an imminent trading update (October 4th last year) will return the SP to its recent levels . . .
