'Lets hope E&, & others come back & buy more'
E& RNS taking them to 15% hasnt been published as far as I know so they are likely current buyers
still waiting new ceo
Management have failed to create value
They need to find a buyer and then be sacked
Hello Android. Nothing to do with buybacks, more to do with the banking crisis at the moment, not a good time to be heavely in debt,as vod is. I am not selling though, as I think vod can weather the storm. Lets hope E&, & others come back & buy more at this bargain sp price. Watch this space.
Dan, Malone, E& are big buyers so why does the SP reverse when buybacks stop. Cant be inflation worries because VOD has that covered.
Android101. What you mean the sp has been shorted to source the buy backs? Please explain. The last buyback was at 95p, but the sp has continued to fall to 88p. The falling sp has nothing to do with the buybacks. Who is shorting, & why is it a scandal? Vod to the moon would be nice though! We live in hope.
just noticed buyback is finished.
i think the dividend needs to be suspended for 3 years and debt brought back to control.
'These purchases are the last purchases to be made under the Programme'
I suppose that's why Read had to go. The SP has been shorted to source the buybacks. Hopefully those shorts close without a scandal and VOD to the moon? Just guessing as not much else makes sense
From RNS 16 Mar: These purchases are the last purchases to be made under the Programme, as the Programme has now been completed in accordance with its terms.
'Last thing they should be doing is raising the div.'
Why not?
Prices will increase for inflation next week. Cash cow plus asset sales. Shareholders like E&, Malone, Niel et al getting a return on their investment. No near term debt to repay. 2.5% coupon debt easily serviced. No incremental near term capex. I guess they could put the money on deposit at 6% interest...?
tree shake. I would not sell never.
“Would be good if they lift the final div for inflation”
Last thing they should be doing is raising the div. First thing should be cancelling it.
Either way should help the sp.
It looks as if it’s being held down by forces to facilitate big players loading up. Time will tell
Wisebear, the buyback scheme has ended. I'm not sure if there will be more buybacks any time soon. My guess is that VOD will prefer to redeem debt instead.
After deducting all liabilities, the NAV is still around €56b. More than double the current market cap.
It’s dropping in the US after initial gains today. Hopefully pick up before closing
'divi not so far away '
Yes, plenty of cash. Would be good if they lift the final div for inflation and the SP rerates to 6% yield going forward. €154Bn total assets = €25Bn market value is not sum of the parts. Vantage now proven
Vantage Towers deal completed, up to 6.6Bil into VOD which might help with Debt... came up in my new RNS listing. We're either heading sub 90 or +£1 but no idea which... divi not so far away though. GLA

There is reasons to be positive, but i suspect we will have to be very patient for some time yet, as we all know the world is in a bit of a mess at the moment, 130 will do me
'Lagarde a good person?..'
...well better than Dominique Strauss-Kahn apparently
" we all know the risks of recession."
Dan
well...recession usually means lower earnings , more move to cheaper products ..low cost phone contracts for example...of which VOD has quite a few ..probably some more job losses still to come ..to cut costs further in the economy
dibbieboy1
yeah..maybe later in the year when the damage from the stronger interest rate rises has passed then better things can come ....but as we know....Lagarde has to try and dampen inflation whilst stopping any economic slide ... and they came to game late with regards rate rises
Lagarde a good person?..well she just communicates the work of the teams assessing all the data and collectively making the decisions
Pokerchips re diddieboy1. " over to you Lagarde". Come on poker, You talk sense somtimes, but not today. Explain please ?? we all know the risks of recession.
