Hi Bamps
Your 100% right that’s why now I don’t argue, used to when younger!
No money to be earn’t rowing and gutter sniping, so when I feel that on site on first day .
It’s excuse me cats while I rest and don’t ring me I’ll ring you.:)))
I know site agents get it both sides and I do feel for them when the office does there march of justification on site.
Anyway have a good trading day and enjoy the weather
Hi Ben
A happy/safe site is all down to the Site Manager. It's a fine line being in the centre of everything, keeping everyone involved with the site happy in the way it's run.
Kidology is a good way to sum it up and being able to get the best out of everyone, bit hard sometimes especially with upper management breathing down your neck wanting more profit, more production and safety paperwork.
Very stressful position and glad I'm out of it, so don't be too hard on your site managers you don't know what pressures they have each day.
ATB:))
Hi Bamps
Good morning my no1 for a good site is atmosphere , I like a happy site if I have to be there for eight hours a day it’s a must!
If I don’t feel it then I am 50%+ gone :)))
Good luck today
Hi Ben,Jay, Tim
That reminds me of some block layers that came to Redditch Town Centre, I showed them 12 bays of blockwork 6mx 4m high and the last one had a door in it.
Sucking air through his teeth he said ' We don't do doors'
Agh!!!
Jay Tim , turned up today my mate said he’s got a bad feeling about this job, I agreed so we left.
Now back at persimmons lol
Good luck today
Jay, yes... know Joe from when he was an apprentice Brickie.... he was a trainee site manager and then Assistant SM on a few jobs i looked after on the Commercial side, before i left for the Dark side!!!
Hi jay and tim bob
Thanks for that
Cheers Ben
timbob , site manager at market harboro is a ex TW , joe he is alright thats one of my jobs
hi ben we did the first phase ,im there tomorrow doing some customer care and snagging for ryan , he is picky but he knows what he wants , his saying is do it nice or do it twice
Site Manager i was thinking of is on there Market Harborough Job, so not sure who's on the CD site; so good luck!!!
Yeah Glencore is a long termer for me... hoping for £2.40 in the next couple of years; sooner would be nice tho!
Hi timbob
Thanks for that as I say will take him on face value and see what may!
Glen will do alright eventually I have an average of 181 just under, so should have profit there eventually.
Good luck and enjoy the mini boom in bricks while we can
Hi Ben, I'm in on GLEN as well...
Avg £1.75 at the min, but they are a good buy at anything less than £2.00 In my opinion... just got to sit tight; divi was canceled last week, so just seeing a bit of fall out because of that at the min.
If the Site Manager at Castle Donnington is who i think it is; he's ok, won't take any ****e from any trade but if you work with him will make sure you can earn your money and go home happy...
Hi Tom
Thanks it was great over there loved it.
Really needed Glencore to perform , let me down big time,
Hey ho this is still a learning curve and hobby, so I can wait!
Good luck all and happy trading
Hi jay
Yes do you know the site agent?
Are you on there?
so you are taking over at Castle Donnington lol
Ben hi,
Welcome home and hope you had a good time in Germany.
Keep well
Tom:-))
Hi All
Top outs used to be good but now you get three payments! To joist
To plate
Top outs all lifts measured based on price Per thousand and meter rate all in .
So with persimmons top outs no blockwork ( spandrels not just party walls and cut ups + oversailors)
Not many £s there we always leave money back but hey ho we do alright.
Anyway redrow look a nice house and materials look good, taking over from another Barron a bit of an atmosphere, there work looked alright, so asked the brickies on site what was the problem?
They all said in sinc the site agent was a c... !
We shall see he does seem a bit of a young upstart making a name for himself, he was having a meeting with the plasters boss about workmanship issues!
We will see I take everyone on face value ( but won’t let people take the p...)
Tomorrow’s a new day
Good luck all
Bamps, most the brick barons i work with at the min knock 10% of each lift and tag it onto the top outs because the trowels all want to leave them because they can get a better flow on the runs and earn a bit more; also have a bit of a completion bonus on them too just to incentivise them; which i have to say helps!
Ben, not sure which Pers region you were in, but they vary massively from my experience... A couple very goods ones, then a few good, some acceptable and then the other 50% not good at all (polite way of saying ****!)!
Not worked with or for Redrow so can't comment, but know there PD in the East Mids and he's good and expects good quality... Having walked round a few of their houses over the years, there finished product always looks better than the rest...
Ben, I think you will find Redrow just about opposite to PSN in every respect ( positively of course). Be interesting to get your feedback.
Morning Ben
I hope you had a great time.
Don't forget the roof straps! after what happened on Tw Swindon site last year. The scaffold is still up checking other gables.
When I was running sites the gable price was all in with the package
Surely you can’t be on price just to finish some gables off, plus I always thought people classed the gables as topping off, where the money was at?
Hi All
Got back yesterday from Germany nice time all the Germans and Dutch spending well , middle Germany ( a bit like mid summer murders) wouldn’t know a recession if it bit them !
Anyway back to business finishing at pers tomorrow start at redrow, probably got to go back to finish gables!
No money in them and hopefully last time I set foot on a persimmons site ever . Crappiest house builders I have ever worked for!
If they are the biggest the rest need not worry!
I will let you know what redrow are like.
Anyway good luck for next week
