Hi Ben interesting that sites going for re pricing
we are always shafted when it comes to a squeeze, everyone else putting in stupid demands for wage increases due to the current situation where firms seem to be cash grabbing and using post covid or energy crisis as a excuse to announce record profits so the government think lets raise rates to push people over the edge and get them brickies and chippys wages back down i mean who do they think they are earning over a 1000 pound a week ,
I was thinking more due to lack of trades that rates would stay where they are or should be so and its times like this that the rough get weeded out, ill look with eyes wide open for your future findings
Who you on for Ben ? we in east mids unaffected at the min at bloors , heard today Belway has shut 3 offices darn sarf ,redrow slowing also ive heard Raf Newton down to one phrase when it was going on 3 fronts , if your good you will be in work when it slows it weeds out the chaff , good luck jay
Hi Ben , that chippy or site manager needs to go over the NHBC inspectors head to his gaffer , you can fix straps to 4X1 as long as it goes over 4 trusses and has 8 screws over the length of the strap , good working practice and sites that are looking for extra points for awards fit them on 4x2 nogs at bed joint heights not exceeding 2m and thats in his little book lol , jobs worth some of em , hope your doing well , jay
hi ben who was the chippy baron ?, to be fair 3s can be given for some really simple things , brickie on one of our jobs got a few 3s and i was like there work is clean and tidy , sometimes i just dont understand how they score what they do
hodjie was talking to a mush from wilsons and his contracts manager was requesting the release of more plots as sales are going not too bad , there scheme of paying home owners up to 1k a month mortgage contributions for 2 years is obviously giving buyers a bit of confidence , dont know if TW have joined the party but if not maybe they should
hi Ben happy new year firstly but what you have just said is spot on , coming back after the xmas break its like they have all been hauled into their head offices or had a teams meeting outlining whats expected for the coming months /year , nearly every site now has changed from when you gonna be done to make sure everything is spot on as we are having another CQR , thing is wages or rates wont come down and rightly so they shouldnt the only thing that will happen now in my opinion is that if you arent up to scratch( rather than put up with it due to numbers and lack of labour ) i think you will be asked to leave, its a cycle and its the builders turn to hold all the aces its the way it is . all the best for the coming year !!
@wigan warriors . if rishi had stuck by boris he would of deffo been the next leader 100% but he was seen as a back stabber and that was his downfall
Hi Ben im hearing some firms are paying barons £1 a brick !!! far too much for a line monkey in my opinion lol rates are still going up and up and lads are always wanting more its gotta come to a head soon and then attitudes of some is gonna change believe. have you noticed a slump in sales ? on sites we have been on for DW they been selling 6 or so a weekend and you arent talking starter homes i just dont know where everyone is getting the money for £600k homes not everyone is a chippy on £150k a year lol , this share and many in the building sector should not be so low when sales are so good . have a good weekend as monday we go again
Ive had this share on my watchlist for sometime ,i know it was 15p last week but ive decided to jump in and have a few and see how it goes ,wish us all luck
Have this share on my watch list for a while now and have been so close to hitting the button and like a complete fool havent missed a right touch
a few hours customer care tomorrow and thats it for the year , have a good xmas everyone and lets hope next year this share gets a rocket up its backside . be good
hi mate i was unaware they had painters on the books , in our region which was east mids it was joiners and brickies on books and site labourers and truck drivers
Hi Steve i cant see TW going down the on the books route again , i was once on the books with TW and in 2008 they made us all redundant saying it was pure economics and it was 48% cheaper to hire contractors without having to factor in all the add ons like pension contributions /holiday pay ,inclement weather payments etc etc . so like others have said cant see it because they know roughly how much a plot is gonna cost give or take a few VOs
Hi Ben
are the wall ties nailed to the spandrels ? , would of thought they should be screwed on , if the chippy didnt do the laps then maybe you should of refused to do the gables , if they keep getting away with it they will never learn , problem these days too many dont give a damn and just chase the money . but you should still have standards imo
timbob , site manager at market harboro is a ex TW , joe he is alright thats one of my jobs
hi ben we did the first phase ,im there tomorrow doing some customer care and snagging for ryan , he is picky but he knows what he wants , his saying is do it nice or do it twice
so you are taking over at Castle Donnington lol
up and down more times than a *****s draws , but money to be made
this share is up and down like a *****s draws , wish i had the time to day trade such opportunities to make a killing in the short term on a daily basis , im just holding though
Bamps 21 , tw dont really do quality they just do volume , i worked 18 years for Bryant Homes and yes they was geared up win awards and was all about quality and design . when Taylor woodrow merged with George wimpey to form TW that was the end of quality , all good designs gone , vanity units taken out , any little nice extra taken out , then they looked at the staff levels and Bryant site managers etc were on more money so they had a cull and you guessed it all well most of the Bryant managers were made redundant , but George wimpey site managers were ex folk lift drivers or labourers ,not trade backed like Bryant boys were , we were next all brick layers and carpenters were made redundant for cheaper inferior the list goes on ,i bought into Bryants work ethos in a big way as we all did and worked for some fantastic people on many a award winning site but now i wouldnt give a thank you to work for TW again in their empty square boxes with no flare , do i want this share to go sky high ? hell yes im still deep in as this share is good value for money
