They have this wonderful thing called the Internet. If you go to Google and type Periodico Ecuador a number of Ecuadorian newspapers come up which you can then read. You can access the Internet in Wigan, Costa Rica, the UAE, Mexico and of course Ecuador. I'm not really sure why you think I would make up that I lived in Costa Rica - I mean if you ever visit Puerto Limon you will understand its not a place you would brag about living in. It's an awful, dangerous port city - though its admittedly nicer than Liverpool (not the one in England) which was about 15 mins down the road.
Indi & pbow,
Ignore posts from B5, it is an antagonistic poster, tries luring people in then starts it rubbish as it needs the attention, probably whipping it’s self into a cream now at the thought of being talked about, just ignore

RK, how would a shorter be able to close a position at such a premium to the prevailing price?
Looking forward to another days solid rise as we make our way slowly up and over 40p in the coming weeks!!!
ONWARDS & UPWARDS
Morning from Chardonnay...38 expected today (degrees not SOLG SP...)
However...after Friday could be an exciting day today...
Steady bargains at 33+ and then wham! 12 million at 35...
Shorter closing or someone who knows...?
We shall see soon, although no " we have received an approach that may lead to a bid...."
Yet...

Buddy5 not sure if the Mexican comment was directed at me. But I'm actually from Wigan. I live in the UAE and am married to a Mexican. I've never lived in Mexico though I will likely retire there one day.
For information, Ecuador is five hours behind the UK. Therefore if someone posts at 8pm UK time, it is the middle of the day in Ecuador, not the middle of the night.
Pbow interesting. I have lived in Ecuador for nearly 20 years and still havnt mastered the language ha ha but get by!
Dont sell just yet, plenty to come still for Solg, indeed all mining involved in Ecuador IMO.

Hi Darren
I live in the UAE but I'm married to a Mexican and used to live in Costa Rica so can get by in Spanish. I have bought (for me) a lot of shares in Solg. A couple of weeks ago my wife and mother in law went on holiday to Ecuador so I started to read the papers to preempt any issues and saw things that might be relevant. So the other day I thought I may as well keep reading and share what I find. If I sell up I will of course stop reading the newspapers ha.
Ecuador Times…save the link if interested..

Pbow thanks for links. Do you live in Ecuador? Just curious (and dont need to reply if not comfortable disclosing).

Pbow, thanks for taking the time to share the relevant articles on here.
Been a couple of months before we've had anything exciting to discuss (the PFS). Would be nice to know a little more about what's going on behind the scenes, what newsflow over the next few months is going to look like. Nice to see the share price holding up in an otherwise bleak market.
Cheers DB
Appreciated.
Surprised in one way some have sold considering where we feel we are in the potential takeover, but its all our own investment decision and if profits are there to be had then at least you've made a return...............so I understand that.....to a degree............bird in the hand n all that..............
Hope we're all keeping well!

This is from 2 days ago and is talking about Ecuador and the UK negotiating a tax agreement to prevent double taxation.
It's basically an interview with James Dauris, deputy director for the Americas of the United Kingdom's Office of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development.
It then has a section called "What are those opportunities?"
The British Chap says....
The Ecuadorian Government is interested in promoting the model of public-private alliances, in which mining projects are contemplated. British companies have significant investments in mining in Ecuador, as well as in other Latin American countries. The mining sector has a lot of potential in the country.
He goes on to say....
When we talk about investments that will last for years, the important thing is that there is trust, regardless of changes in government. What is sought is that the business be profitable over time.
Apologies if the translation isn't 100% - best I can do though.
Haha I've started reading the Ecuadorian press daily. I'll post what I find (good and bad) - if I think it's relevant. :-) Hopefully it will be mostly good news :-)
Pbow you find some interesting news links thanks for the positive ones !:)
Hi BNC
Yep pretty quiet couple of weeks on the face of it, may well be a very different story behind the scenes.
A couple of regular posters have sold down chunks of their holding here and these have been easily absorbed .....Late reported trades continue in abundance ..... Norges would be my guess but who knows.
I'm convinced the timing of this EGM is significant ..... this remuneration stuff is usually dealt with as a matter of course at the AGM. The voting is key for me BHP/NCM have done everything possible to disrupt the board in recent times so if we see them fully supportive of all motions it could well tell an interesting story......and I'd expect a major corporate announcement shortly after ....... I realize many think differently.
Would hope for drilling news on a couple of fronts before too long now
Keeping the faith, stay safe

Also apologies if this has been shared. But the Mister of Energy retweeted it. Mentions Solg.

Could be worse. Could have bought bitcoin at the top

This article mentions an agreement with Barrick and also that the National Mining Company (Enami) has had meetings with Rio Tinto with a view of them setting up in the Country. Not as advanced as Barrick.
Hi DBW
Have I missed much of late matey ie anything of real significance?
I've voted re the EGM cr-ap............
I take it nowt else is really happening -
Price took a wacking again I see from the flipping 40p zone - but we're recovering pretty well - and contrary to what the rest of the meerkats are doing - which is definitely re-assuring in an eerie kinda way.......................I take it we're still seeing large trading big buys etc...........and as always its cloak n dagger stuff reported after hours etc..........

What's GDKJ and Van Eck got to do with Solgold?
The UK listed constituents of that fund and there are only 4! All of which are producing or in advanced development.
Endeavour, Centamin, Hoc and Greatland gold.
Not sure if any of them have copper, but SOLG is seen more as a 'copper' investment even though the Gold and Silver resources blow most specific Gold miners away. I invested in SOLG based on Copper and the impending electrification of the globe and car industry. The big trade on Friday most likely the Norway Fund. Someone mentioned earlier in week they were at 3.97% up over 1.3% from last year. An increase of 50% in their SOLG holdings in last 6 months so some keen interest and urgency there for sure. All large shareholders in SOLG appear unchanged however blackrock appear to have dropped by 0.4% or that could be on loan.
There are many other small cap funds and ETF's around and Van Eck is just one.
Get ready to Grease that weasel sire!
Note as mentioned above, the sheer amount of buying on Friday would make us a top 25 holding in the GDXJ and that’s before they’ve sold down positions as mentioned in that article. Which surely seems unlikely?
Thanks for the source Zoros!
Do you know when updated holdings are released? https://www.vaneck.com/us/en/investments/junior-gold-miners-etf-gdxj/holdings/ Is still as of 16th
