CovGaz - if you're happy with 100% return in 7 years then why have you chosen a copper gold junior operating out of South America?
You could have earned that level of return by taking significantly less risk over the same timeframe.
This is what I mean when I say people don't understand why they bought and won't realise there's a lack of similar options waiting for their money next. This is a stock you should have been looking at 3-5 bags from at a 26p entry.
I'm not Addicknt. I understand his importance in the current situation.
I just won't rate him until he delivers for us, and by delivering I mean 250-300% from here. Not 100-120%.
I called a sell out at 55p many years ago , I can find the post for anyone that doubts me. I can't understand the frustration at the takeout price? I can understand the timeframe , we all want it now. Personally I am in at an average of 26p , so even a 52p takeout doubles my money , I would be happy as Larry. After all , many here claim to be in at 4-10p , so what's the problem with you guys? I guess it would all depend ion how much any one person has invested. If I can double 30k within 7 years I'm happy , that's a good return .
I am just not too sure of the timeframe, is it next year or 2026/27.
That is my only issue here. It will happen , but when?
Never mind anon at least it will be 30p by this Friday !
chat, where everyone thinks they know everything, but in reality they know nothing.
This company has me bamboozled and I don't have a clue what it's going to do.
The big difference is I can readily admit it.
Bozi
No one said we were owed a sale but the last two or three years have simply been an exercise in burning cash and adding no value when everyone pretty much knew a sale was the end goal .
I’m saying the direction has changed ….. it may not be of my own choosing but I feel that something may now actually happen for a change. With all the bluster from Sangha they need to follow up .
I haven’t always been an advocate of a sale I was just stating the obvious that it was the only logical outcome, from my point of view .
Now all the pieces are “seemingly “ falling into place I’d just like to see this done and dusted that’s all
Bozi, I most certainly understand your frustration. I think you are underestimating Sangha's role. He is now advising the company as well as having a significant shareholding, so he's very far from simply being a gobby bystander.
DBW - it's right to say there's new influence at the company, brought about by the merger with CGP.
What I don't understand though is why you feel were heading in a direction that isn't your own choosing? You've been a long term advocate of a sale or other transaction, and that appears where we're headed?
It's those like myself, Quady and co who are heading in an alternate direction. Those who wanted to see what someone might pay for Cascabel at $6-8/lb cu.
I'm also a bit lost as to why you see this as being overdue. SOLG didn't owe a Cascabel or company sale to anyone at an earlier date. The strategy changed to being about repeating that low cost exploration blueprint across Ecuador from a point some time before Covid-19 and the enforced restrictions.
Maybe a GGP/ALL type earn-in was the way to go early doors. We'd probably be much further on the road to development now.
Bozi
A lot has changed in a very short space of time and we no longer feel like we are heading in a direction of our own choosing …. Those on the sidelines now appear to be firmly behind the steering wheel and I’m certain Nicks hand in this is still very strong.
Every attempt to raise the company’s profile through conventional means (drilling news , studies and milestones) has been treated with contempt by the market. Rather than fall further into the abyss and throw good money after bad they appear to collectively decided to stand firm against the common enemy and bring together a plan which will hopefully result in a payday of sorts for all and finally bring this sorry saga to a long overdue end .
Bozi,
Let’s just say we wait with anticipation of a really good RNS, I also believe you’re dismissing the old Solgold for CGP to easily, Mather and co are now hardened and fired up, as Add mentioned, we have to trust them to come good.
Now have a good night and maybe a relaxing tipple

Mathers - I think you've misunderstood me, but I appreciate your thoughts all the same.
Being on the last couple of laps doesn't really bother me. I'd be happy for more laps to be added if it meant we were all going to do much better. I'm not fatigued per se, but I'm annoyed at the position we now find ourselves in - operations effectively ceased and our fortunes in the hands of CGPs bankers and a fella who was happy to sell his company's stake in SolGold to BHP to let them in, in the first place.
Thanks SM.
I hope your logic re Sangha and Co comes through. I suppose my concerns come from never having warmed to them. We butted heads with them for years on a range of matters and it's probably fair to say I haven't forgotten or forgiven.
I'm willing to give them time but they have to acknowledge that an RNS like today's basically cuts off avenues for value addition. No studies, limited regional drilling prospects, scaled back operations and cash conservation, etc.
We're now in the realms of the boardroom. We now have very little room to manoeuvre in the field and we have to pin our hopes on something remotely reasonable being put together.
Bozi,
Yes it’s taken some time to get this far, but you’re now on the last couple of laps, it’s the last couple of laps that the weak drop off and then the big boys step in, nearly there.
Remember the dirty games that have been played against Solgold who have probably had so called friends helping to sh*t stir, having a few bob also helps you to pay media and small investors to shout out crap to help destabilise the company, they’ve had it all thrown at them and still going forward, little longer I hope and imo
Atb
Agreed Bozi, NM was never out the game.
Hi Bozi, you were spot on about Mather back when all that went down. It should have been plain for everyone to see that his interests were most aligned with ours, given his substantial shareholding here.
However, by the same logic this is why I'm happy to throw my support behind Sangha, Irwin & co - because they have serious skin in the game and are on record saying they essentially want to give shareholders an exit at a reasonable price (what that looks like to them, who knows).
I do read with interest posts from yourself and BnC who have been here longer than most and are sceptical of CGP given the history here. pinotnoir - penny for your thoughts too if you still bother reading this board?!
... To find that the return is going to be mediocre and best and not worth the hassle.
Addicknt - I'm not necessarily pessimistic.
But what I am is thoroughly cheesed off. Cheesed off at the company and at investors.
I spent a lot of time in the lead up to the 2020 AGM when PIs were talking about voting against Nick warning them against this very position we find ourselves in.
So I'm cheesed off those calls fell on deaf ears and here we are.
I think it's highly suspect to put any faith in the likes of Bob Sangha. What has he done for me and you to earn that trust? Told NCM and BHP to go f*** themselves? Woop. As Orthern I think it was commented earlier, the likes of he and Irwin, who had admittedly played to the crowd much better than Mather ever did (to be expected as a fund manager) has assumed strategic control (via Caldwell) with minimal effort, facilitated by Cazzubbo.
I'm continuing to hold because I'm pig-headed and I've not come all this way to dump down here. But please forgive me for not being a beacon of positivity after wasting almost 10 years investing in a top discovery in a country looking to progress and rid itself of widespread poverty and destitution.
I think I have the answer as to why for the past nine years people have been having a go at me while saying a sale was imminent.
Answer is they don't know what the word imminent means.
So what does Irwin think then?
He's full of it, imo.
Why doesn't he just say what's going on instead of implying stuff all the time?
Onto typo apols
Quady wasn't looking at daily trades after hours was what I was pointing out to red ,who always posts after hours trades for all to see and is recommended anyway into more news tomorrow gla and as novice says ... onwards and upwards !!!
Numpty?
No need for that :-)
The volume is tiny, imo and has been for weeks, but there's not much happening anywhere in the market.
I see, you mean that detailed RNS that tells us lots or nothing new, apart from we have a new CEO, which is the only bit that really needed to be said, imo.
You think it explains everything.
We're up for sale and it's blatantly obvious.
While I say it's not at all.
I'd keep trading it, put it that way :-)
Poster who commented - "one step ahead and 10 back. Bad RNS today postponing alpala DFS, .etc..."
WI reply -"I don’t think you understand what is going on at SolGold."
Anon3, Redknight knows nothing about investing.
We are not even turning over 0.5% per day as trades.
