Hey guys - been looking at Rolls for a while but need some advice surrounding the potential rights issue... is it better to just wait it out before making my first entry to see when/ if the rights issue is announced - or would you say invest some now, some later? just looking for your thoughts here - thanks
Buy buy buy and keep aside money for discounted rights issue, these low prices will dissapear soon
Why not wait for rights issue price and buy when share price gets there.
Yeah this is my issue, when would a rights issue likely be confirmed/ not confirmed? Hard to call, 1.6 is still a great price long term either way, but want to try and get the best deal possible without leaving it too late
Rights issue is a reality and dont think they can secure a sale in a week time. But we will hear soon , next week is not too far.
Ok thanks - so do you think this Kuwait news won't actually lead to anything substantial (i.e. get rid of the need of a rights issue)?
According to the article only £500 million is allocated to wealth funds which would mean a RI is still needed.
Do you think RI will be announced next week? Warren East and co seem slow to announce anything
They are deliberately trying to hide something or still have not decided it.Reuters reported in July that company has contacted banks to raise 2.5 billions via rights issue. Then last week or week before it was reported in media that company has held talks with sovereign investments funds to raise 2.5 billions and today sky news has reported.Company is not telling whole thing to market , apart from it is looking at various options. All three media sources have mentioned rights issue and one more thing these talks have been going over for three months as nobody would want to give you 250 millions in first meeting.
interesting look at the last 3-4 rns from RR- there PR dept just copied and pasted - what a poor show
investors want something concrete and encouraging not this rubbish
agreed - what a sham
May be next week media outlets should report exact location and time of meeting to get company to admit it.
" Reuters reported in July that company has contacted banks to raise 2.5 billions via rights issue. Then last week or week before it was reported in media that company has held talks with sovereign investments funds to raise 2.5 billions and today sky news has reported"

You need to review ...those media outlets are merely reporting on "sources" that provide them information ...that is it... and as you can see the Company is having to correct what those "sources" are saying.... Neither Reuters or Sky has done any investigating on these stories...they merely print what is being sent to them....financial gossip...
sky news "sources" : " In total, £500m of new shares have been allotted to sovereign wealth investors, meaning the two sovereign funds could acquire stakes worth £250m each, the sources added.
Company RNS : " No final decisions have been taken as to whether or when to proceed with any such options, the precise amount that may be raised, or any allotment of shares to any investor including any sovereign wealth fund.."
this does not smell good at all
Wow so these media outlets are spreading these rumors to acieve what? Any credible News source would investigate these news stories and would confirm them with their sources, otherwise they would have their backsides handed back to them and get sued.Reuters reported same thing about International consolidated airlines and that turned out to be true.
sky news anything for a story - problem is many bought in thinking this was the low and now they will loose money due to some p r i c k from sky spreading gossip which has no foundation - t o s s e r s the media are !!!!!
I am thinking that, as the speculation and denials just keep coming. (Strenuous and terse denials) Hopefully it is because Warren East is frustrated with all the chancers. AND has a strategy to put them all back in their boxes..
The Group is evaluating the merits of a rights issue of up to €2.75 billion that would further strengthen IAG's balance sheet. No decision has been made as to whether or when to proceed with a rights issue"
"We continue to review all funding options to enhance balance sheet resilience and strength. No final decisions have been taken as to whether or when to proceed with any such options, the precise amount that may be raised, or any allotment of shares to any investor including any sovereign wealth fund.
A further announcement will be made if and when appropriate.
Look at these two statements one was issued by Iag and second one by Rolls Royce, does it not sound familiar?
same guy wrote it ha ha ha
