Little Nige, CluelessTim, Blissful and Splice are all living rent free in your head?
There is no crew, I've only ever heard of little Nige. I do not have multiple accounts or coordinate with anyone. I just do research and tell the truth
I am one of those that thinks there is a co-ordinated effort by a crew/gang to sow discord on here (Little Nige, CluelessTim, Blissful and, now seemingly, Splice - there have been others, such as SoundReason).
I don't know what their real agenda is, though I can hazard a few guesses.
They all, of course, deny being part of the same "camp" and it is not without possibility that it was nothing more than a random bunch of individuals who all turned up on one BB with broadly similar viewpoints.
But, sometimes, there are similarities in MO (just hear to learn, research, etc) and especially the use of certain words and syntax that might suggest a more co-ordinated approach.
I would just observe that Little Nige recently used the term "asymetrical" and then, in very short order, Splice used the term "asymetry".
It is a somewhat unusal word/term/concept that has many intrinsic merits. But it is not generally in common usage and, thus, somewaht stood out.
It initially gained a lot of currency in the Pentagon in the late 1980's and early 90's as war-planners and sceanrio planners assesed threats to US national security. from there, it moved into the rarefied halls of the top strategic consultancies (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc) - and, of late, it has become more used by hedge fund managers.
All circumstantial, of course, but just a little odd that the same rather arcane term should be used by two supposedly separate posters within a very short time period.
Perhaps their posts were not quite as asymetrical as they might want us to believe....
Splice: "If my efforts help others that is a good thing...."
Wow! What an honour that you should have bestowed upon us all the benefit of your wisdom such as to save us from our own innate stupidity/lackof experience/lack of investing skill/whatever.
In a world gone mad, it must be truly inspiring - to yoursef, Spice, if no-one else - to be on a mission of such devoted and undiluted altruism.
Excuse me whilst I go to the bathroom to be ill...
Very good pick on txp, will have another look, I went down that rabbit hole a few months back. Thanks
Splice - Everything has stalled due to Covid, to some extent. Unless you are looking for existing production. Last year the CCS / EOR was a pilot / proof of concept, so yes, small numbers. Did you see the tie up with Lease Operators? If you are uncertain on this, can I offer you a friendly alternative tip? Run your eyes over Touchstone TXP and see if that is a closer fit to your criteria. Bon chance.
Croxie, the market has fallen out of love with this share, it dumped 75%. Clearly I am not the only one with doubts, I don't even think I my views are very contrarian in this case
Highland matt - carbon capture business looks small fry and I don't think they will manage to scale it. Trinidad bopd and resource estimates are tiny. It has stalled apparently due to covid
Splice - you just make noise. Why do you think they didn't raise (which was oversubscribed) enough money last month to pay for the drill costs of MOU-4?
Read the RNS - Clearly things are moving forwards on TT and i think likely to generate cash in the near term. As for Ireland, Who knows...But the opportunity is worth a lot of money to some or a few and the Irish government won't make a decision i feel until they absolutely have to.
What makes you think Trinidad has limited upside and/or has stalled?
Looks like I'm living rent free in your head as well. Who is Leo
I'm not going to big note myself. My strategy for speculation is as follows:
The shares I like are those that have been mispriced by the market due to a fixable problem. The problem could be caused by a supply issue, public panic, macro issue, pandemic etc. I then speculate based on an upcoming transformative catalyst. I want my bet to be asymmetric in risk reward - downside is small and upside is big. I sell when my thesis has played out and do not return to that stock. I am long only.
Ireland is a pipedream. Trinidad has limited upside and appears to have stalled. I am ignoring both for this trade.
My motivation here is to try to understand the next big catalyst - mou-4. The potential upside is clear, but what is the downside in case of failure and what is the likelihood of commercial success (I do not call simply drilling to 1400m a success). All my research is around these two questions.
If my efforts help others that is a good thing but ultimately I don't mind what others do, it is up to them.
Afternoon all...
Hello Splice
Forgive me ...I am a tad bemused:
you said in your post:
'I also think (***) people on this board are too optimistic and some are delusional.'
You may be correct ...
or you may be incorrect
I posit that , as your posts consistently attempt to save people from themselves,
You must hold your views very strongly indeed
It is surely a kind and generous motivation that drives you onward
Thus your thought (***)
must be based upon your own superior experience and research ...
((all stress tested by you to form your 'World View))
and of course your substantial successes
Were it not founded on those things it would hold not any value
Please tell me ...for I am agog...
WHAT superior experience and research you deploy
and WHAT superior successes you have enjoyed
If you do that, I am sure your attentive audience share will skyrocket
As you might expect from a research based investor,
I have read your post history
And you do seem to hold much in common with Haemo...
IE ...
you have ...to date...
hidden your considerable and brilliant light under several bushels
So come on Splice...
Tell us what you are made of
You would not wish this BB to think that you are just another pigeon trying to play chess
(with grateful thanks to Leo)
Regards
