Sorry for your loss John in SXX,... Never a nice feeling.
Slight difference here, as we are not after a loan from JPM..
In fact we are creating a war chest of savings, and can easily purchase a bolt on company to add value (if we have the VISION).. I'm thinking we're ready to announce something juicy.. And, yes, we're probably in the the cross hairs of a few majors as our growth is impressive.. The game is afoot now for sure, as adding value to the SP is what's needed to stop a low baller coming in..
Watch this space... Soonish!
Thanks Neilrich
Bugs14, Check this afternoon's Tweet, different from this morning!
Valju I held shares in SXX - lost £49k and sadly this is feeling very familiar.
In their case JPM who were offering to loan money ( but never quite managed to get the right terms ) also shorted the company via High bridge driving the price down from a high of 45p to 2.5p at which point AAL came along with a “generous” offer of 5p per share. This was forced through a court meeting by II's and 85,000 PI's, me amongst them lost between 75% and virtually everything they had. A hard lesson to learn -so I'm not so exposed here, but this protracted period of avridiculously low sp is starting to make me twitchy.
i meant attend virtually!! but i can as on the plane
Neilrich
'We're all looking forward to seeing you there...'
where have you seen that sentence ?
There isn't an option to physically attend, it's essentially a webcast. It will be available to view later for those who wish to or can't view live.
i would have been very keen to attend, but I shall be on a plane at the time. My specific interest is trying to get an assurance that they will develop an investors' communication strategy so we know the good and the bad, but don't have to fill in the gaps in the way we have had to over the last year.
How many do you actually think will a: attend in person and b: log on remotely?
#notthamany I doubt!
Well, Im back and got bloody soaked! No one said walks in the fresh air, meant getting drenched, where is the Sun, when you need it, it bucketed down!
Anyway glancing through the chat, has anyone thought that maybe just maybe, someone does want Nova and that anywhere between 12 and 54 would be too expensive, so decided a target approached of a drip drip drip reduction in sp, would remove enough PI's and also, weaken the rest, so that in just over 12 months time, it can be bought for the highest average?
Which by the time we get to the "Coffee Morning" and confirmed figures, could well be single digits?
Which would be a lot more palatable to the buyer than high figure double digits?
As soon, most will be just grateful to get back to square, (if they can)... as again in my opinion, no BoD worth their salt would allow a constant sp attack/reduction, over a sustained period, with at least a fight back or something to counter it?
Which sadly leaves me to think, they are going along with it? WHY?
£12 to £3 and not peep about the sp, just a host of well worded rns's why not something with BITE! and then GM retires?
I had originally thought this might get close to £2.90 but I am revising my (and mine alone) estimate that this could hit £2.50 ish?
Which as Porky said is LUDICROUS for the money the sales and the on going? again WHY?
So, for what it is worth imo, some CO wants Nova, and on the cheap! GM isnt on board so retire, figs, are good, so hold them back, a little more smoke and mirrors and you are left with a few stubborn and a few who bought right, but, have watched it erode back and now think what the hell?
Meaning, Massive Upside, its just a case of When/How Long?
Not a good place to be, but someone is going to make shed loads, just not PI's!
all my own "deluded" opinion?
'We're all looking forward to seeing you there...'
Would they be looking forward if the plan was to deliver and present bad news?
Precisely, why put out a Twitter message ‘We are delighted…..’ https://twitter.com/novacytgroup/status/1423162296377937924?s=21
if you have bad news to release before 18th August. A month ago we expected great items of news to land (new products) , winter months not far off, travel testing accelerating. I have to remain positive that a few rabbits will be pulled out of the bag in next few days. Why else have a investor presentation meeting. There has to be news before to make this worthwhile, as any discussion will not address price sensitive stuff. GLA
Porky, is right investors are looking at very short term horizons and clearly have little confidence in the medium term. I think we need to hear aconvincing strategy from the company and in particular the new ceo as to a 5 year vision.
I think it's unfair to say that Retail investors are not reading the information in front of them, they probably are but unfortunately they are coming to a different conclusion.
There are currently more sellers than buyers, and have been for quite some time, so for the moment we are in the minority thinking their conclusions are wrong. Let's just hope the minority is smarter than the majority.
Perhaps the investor meeting will be the catalyst to switch the sentiment, less than 2 weeks away so not long to find out.
Blame S P Angel and Numis who are currently valuing Novacyt on the basis of demand for covid testing being short lived and this being the bulk of Novacyt's business. As if demand will suddenly fall off a cliff and tbe business will go back to where it was precovid. That is effectively a valuation based on cash at bank not far off parity between market cap and cash. No other biotech business in history has been valued so conservatively. I think the analysts and the markets are grossly undervaluing Novacyt and that there is much more longevity in Covid testing alone, not even allowing for the future and the wider market for diagnostics and other products.
I think it is being done so that they get an easier ride at AGM ( ha ha ) A coordinated well thought out set of questions is the only way this will benefit us. Very few questions for them to chose from. ' The top ten '
Let us hope that when D.A takes the reigns it will signal the end of joining the dots and herald a new era. I don't want an RNS for a new distributor but all contracts and all releases of products , informing the market of intended use and target end users. No news today warrents a fall in SP save some folks see it as nailed on that there will be no news.
@Bluelight
What's happening is that Retail Investors are NOT reading the information that is in front of them, they are NOT doing any research - its how it is.
Bluelight -
Only the board will know the most prominent questions, so the board decides which questions get answered still.
In organising the meeting - this is the board lighting the blue touch paper.
It remains to be seen if we get a firework display or a damp squib.
Are we going to get any bangers if answers limited to questions about the subject of RNS's?
I welcome the opportunity to ask questions, but reserve judgement until after the event.
What does the board plan to do about the huge imbalance between institutional and private investor holdings, how will they go about selling the company to institutions without diluting existing shareholders when there is no requirement to raise cash and they appear reticent to buy in the open market at what are 12 month lows.
I would give them credit though, after such a brutal year for investors here, to arrange what amounts to a full on face to face discussion is very brave. Now either they have skin as hard as rock, or they have some good news they feel will make us finally happier and get off of their backs.
Larry. Yeah you are probably right there. I imagine they'd be happy discussing their US growth plans. But it does seem they will likely have some news between now and then to present to us, otherwise it's basically a pointless exercise.
I've sent 6 questions in so far.
The best question is not suitable for this forum having operated for months on the basis only permitting positives in the hope of holding the SP up. Sort of see no -ve, hear no -ve & speak no -ve
Bluelight, they will answer you
1/ material info
2/ material info
3/ ...
4/ ...
I think we Can Ask them about golf, that's all they will answer.
More seriously, i Hope we get further updates until then that may help us understanding or discuss things.
Oh and No6, when will you move us from the Bourse to the US
Number 1 (assuming its not resolved by then) is how is the resolution progressing, and what timelines do they forsee to it. Number 2 what is the private testing expansion looking like growth wise. Number 3 what are the plans for the US and what growth are we seeing from the recent high level hires there. Number 4 how do they forsee creating a return for investors.
