H&W on LinkedIn today, “Harland & Wolff are looking to hear from all trades and trade helpers (industry experience preferred) to join the team in Belfast”. That is a rather open advert, must be a lot of work coming else why advertise in this way.

Tango1 In relation to your 17.04 post is that based on something you have heard or are you just guessing?

The statement on the energy white paper will be at about 4-30pm it ill be live streamed by BBC News as well as on Parliament live.
I was thinking which is normally dangerous with all that waterfront land at Appledore why not install some turbines on the land and use the energy to run the yard with any excess being sold to the grid.
Tango1 I noticed that also it appears to being berthed there for a month not due to leave until 6 January. I think Heyn Engineering are doing work on it as they are showing as both the inward and outward agent.

Well spotted stokey. I sent an email to the Marine Institute last week asking if they were able to provide some information on the works being completed on Celtic Explorer, and if they could either email back or even provide this information on their website. If I get any response I'll pop it on the page here.
What are the thoughts on the oil rig decommissioning business? Understand it is picking up and even if it is lower margin business, anything that contributes to the fixed overheads would be most welcome. Also, if I remember correctly, H&W are one of a few certified in Europe. Most of the segments are starting to come through. I still believe we will hear something about the ML this week.
I came across ths page http://www.marine.ie/Home/site-area/infrastructure-facilities/research-vessels/vessel-schedules?language=en it would seem that the Celtic Explorer is back in for another refit having had a refit in January. Going by the length of stay showing on the Belfast Harbour this is a more significant refit.
I see DAERA have issued 2 new public consultations on: Environmental Plans, Principles and Governance for Northern Ireland on 10 Dec, Closing Date 5 Feb 21 and Discussion document on Climate Change Bill for Northern Ireland, Closing date 1 Feb 21.
