Well well would you look at this - Just released..........
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Preliminary studies in Brazil suggest the AstraZeneca vaccine will protect against the P1 variant of the coronavirus, Mauricio Zuma, the head of production at Brazil’s Fiocruz biomedical institute said on Monday.
Now where is the idiot
hahahahahaha your idiocy knows no bounds - The CDC have done a great job in the US haven't they
I dsaid its the only vaccine trialed inn Latin America Brazil and if you want to believe that in reuters, , go ahead, in the USA CDC as already done the variant tests including Oxodr, and they dont have the same afficacy and can not protect as well
Do you think the UK spent weeks finding the person who traveled from Brazil to the UK for the fun of it, of course they did, as the AZN/Oxf/Pfizer/ MRNA vaccine all dont protect .
Anyway my last reply , I dont have time for clowns
Reuters............... just now
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - Preliminary data from a study conducted at the University of Oxford indicates that the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca PLC is effective against the P1, or Brazilian, variant, a source with knowledge of the study told Reuters on Friday.
The data indicates that the vaccine will not need to be modified in order to protect against the variant, which is believed to have originated in the Amazonian city of Manaus, said the source, who requested anonymity as the results have not yet been made public.
Like I said - You are an idiot
I certainly will now post in $ , apologies, i was trying to post as GSK on here is in £
Nice uplift on VIR,
the only Idiotic clown is you and your carp comments.
#AZN nowhere near any testing on the Brazilian variant
CVAC as so advanced , you have no idea.
UK so worried about Geram Bitech they wanted in.
Not to worry. i dont listen to Macron or Johnson, I dont have the time for parasites .
Wonder how you will feel when Telsa buy out CVAC.
Dont ever say you were not aware of the Technology.
Dream on riskingit.
When you grow out of your short pants, come back.
TR64 you should keep your un-educated crap to yourself.
You have no idea at all which vaccines will do what other than what you heard from the likes of that idiot Macron.
The AZN vaccine is being tested against the Brazil virus and the early indication is it's effective.
It might be helpful to other posters if you quote your dollar prices for all transactions if you are dealing with ADRs or ADS.
I only have access to GBP quote - but for those that can do both - it may create an "arbitrage opportunity".
I assume the ADR is worth 2x GSK.L
We have had a big move in cable over last 12 months and for those with a knowledge of Foreign Exchange, they may be able to use it to their advantage (or not as case may be).

PS. Nice to see a some positive SP action this week. I need quite a few weeks like this to improve my position.
Covid-19 vaccine makes zilch difference to the GSK price.
However, the cost of Covid-19 to GSK has been in the £ hundreds of millions
and re the GSK SP, in to the multi £ billions .
If Covid-19 disappeared tomorrow, then GSK would imv be
valued at least 10-15% higher.
It has been hideously expensive for GSK.
No not confuse. i am using the GSK forum which is in Pounds, if I start putting in Dollars it will confuse and will you work out £ to £.
Yield is now 7.23 %
this forum seems to have a problem with GSK Dividend, and my holding is for that- of course I am dismayed by the SP- but then I do know that CVAC vaccine is the only vaccine trialed in Brazil.
Its Trial covers the SA Variant as well, but not the California Variant.
The UK is premature, it actaully believes its vaccine are going to be the answer, but in reality they are not.
I wish they were .
Even when and if the AZN 2nd dose is given, its not going to protect everyone.
Note you sell GSK at £12.23 yesterday, but say the divi is 7.28% as you buy in ADS.
You do know how to confuse me - may be that's why I am CSDI Lol.
Garydav 2 and the others in the pot of making incorrect posts.
First lets cover the Dividend.
80P for next Financial year.
Its in black and white and next year it will be revisited , but what posters despise and get so rattled by is the Yield is 7.28 %
Its so hard for those who want GSK to ditch it, so the money exists the stock, but its not going to happen in this financial year
My Answer is get use to it, if you dont like it, find something else that pays no dividend.
Lest cover CVAC, I am invested, and it can go either way, but in saying that, its the only vaccine that is being tested in Brazil, Peru, Panama, Soth Africa, Europe and its initial phase 3 results are expected this month. Its already got a rolling review with the EU as the data and results come in.
If it fails, then the sp might drop to $60.00, but in saying that , it as a pipeline and is more advanced in other infectious disease and Oncoloy than any other mRNA .
iTS SP DROPPED , when Janssen Ciliag =JJ Vaccine got approval and Merk team up to double production . But Curevac vaccine was never aimed at the USA, and the current vaccine to date have not proved 100% Efficacy or proved themselves against all variants, some are less effective and the UK Vaccine Task Force as already placed order for 50 million doses of CVAC second Generation of Vacine for COVID 19 and Influenza. The UK as been so desperate, its gone and signed an agreement with a EU, Yes EU country for Vaccines. Its actually providing CVAC with all ist genoic sequences data, that it does not share with other vaccine makers, that is part of its agreement withGSK/CVAC
Now , I am open minded, if it fails, then I wont lose as my entry point was the Intial Price Offering of $16.00, but I have brought more at $42.00 and as high as $85.00
I brought more yesterday, but had to seel 1500 GSK at £12.23.
That capital I split between CVAC and VIR.
VIR price drop, it fell away from $75 to 60 on Monday, prior to one of the trails, but the trail results did not show any data that made it unsafe , 300 people were enrolled in the USA and they stopped enrolling any more. The result was inconclusive if it helped, with Coronavirus treatment, data is yet to be provided.
VIR as a further 2 trails its undergoing with its other antibodys and a one shot intra muscular injection.
My investment in VIR is long term, but it was its hepatitis treatment I brought for and the Antibody treatment was an additional bonus, I have held since its Initial price listing and brought more $60, AND YESTERDAY AT $34 dollars.
Also to be open, I sold 50% of my holding at $139 dollars, and took the profit, waited in case the price dropped and did reinvest it at $60. Now on that I an down 34% on my buying at $60.
When I sold GSK shares yesterday, I brought more VIR at $34, in hope it will be a good investment, so I took the view I would possibly lose out selling GSK if it rose, but have not yet.
Best of luck. By the way, the div
It's good to know that the main posters like Toff and TR64 also make the wrong calls. There expert opinions and selections have gone slightly awry this week?!
GSK back to 12.00 then bounce.Making money here.
Rio falling again.Think weve seen the highs before ex divi.
Toff interesting post but if RIO behaves like most divi stocks then price will probably drop for 2 or 3 days. Cant see the point in divis myself these days. The SP just gets punished. Surprised you went against your own advice?? Anyway let's stick to GSK on this board and hope for a SP recovery soon
The consensus is commodities are at the beginning of a super-cycle.
“There has been broadening consensus recently that a "Green
Revolution" is afoot, referring to the world moving to cut emissions, a shift that will boost commodities such as copper, which is heavily used in electrification.
More broadly, with a vaccine-fueled recovery from COVID-19 under way, fiscal stimulus to support consumer demand and a weaker U.S. dollar, some believe we are on the cusp of a broad commodities "supercycle" – a multi-year period of broad price increases across commodities.
Indeed, ING notes the commodities complex has seen its best start to the year since at least 2008. The last such supercycle lasted from early 2000s until around 2014, underpinned by rapid
I would argue we are in the very-early stages of a decade-long supercycle fueled by a Green Revolution that will result in a substantially larger metal-intensity in the economy.
Good luck with it Toff.
I'm fully invested atm (not very much compared to some unfortunately), but always have BRWM on my watchlist and that has been on spectacular run since the Covid blip last year.
I would be reluctant to chase any of the big miners currently, and have my own problem with mid-cap gold miner CEY which has problems at its single mine and a falling gold price to fight with. I would think chance of 50% rise more likely here than the big caps. (I was looking for 25% from my buy in price, but down 16% in just under 3 months.)
Meanwhile GSK inching above the 1220 wall that's been in its way for a week or so, got a long way to go back to my first target of £14 en-route to my mountain summit at £16. No more top ups from me allowed LOL. When will the brokers chnage their tac and say GSK is under-valued & recommend TP of £18 ?
Cheers - CSDI
Notice the MMs kicked RIO by a fiver for £3 divi.
Not like you to buy before ex div.“
Yes I ignored my own advice and look where it got me:-))
Never again - but do I mean that?
It’s nearly always better to buy after the toxic dividend.
But I’m hopeful my reckless trade will still come good. Miners are riding high for sure but unlike techs their valuations are underpinned by sky high metal prices. Rio for example only trades on a p/e of about 12. Which is high for the Permabear.
Of course all that would change if metal prices were to plunge. But with the world on the cusp of opening up and a period of rapid economic expansion on the horizon I wouldn’t bet on it.
I do think Rio will fall to £55 before it climbs back up though. Dividends are a bruising game!
the miners deserve a pullback. copper was already pulling back, asia was weak overnight and both bhp and rio went ex so a lot for the shares to take on board after a great run. however i think there are some strong arguments to suggest iron and copper as well as other commodities continue to perform this year and into the next, so i would favour sticking with them. the best strategy would be to lighten on big runs higher and add on weakness but you wont always get it right. i dont think we will see much more than 5% downside on either rio or bhp from here and i will be looking to add on weakness in either or both of those names.
Notice the MMs kicked RIO by a fiver for £3 divi.
Not like you to buy before ex div.
RIO been on a great run over last 12 months, and would have thought it a bigger risk to buy this week at all time highs.
Miners always difficult to time
