Mushroom . To be 10 x today's SP Havieron would need to be 30m Oz .. not saying it's not possible but think it's stretching it a bit in the next 2 years. 5 x SP in the next year would do me ! That is about 16m Oz.
@Jerry,
'Most of the above is just my opinion, but it does have some facts to back some of it up.
If you really just want to know whether there is an upcoming fund raising, you will have to either wait or put a call in. The answer will be the same. You will have to wait.'
Just saying, according to the GGP Final 2020 Reports & Annual accounts fund raising as for now is on hold.
'The Directors are confident in the Company’s ability to raise new finance from stock markets if this is required during 2021 and the Group has demonstrated a consistent ability to do so.The Group’s cash flow forecast for the period ending 31 December2021 highlights adequate funding at current levels of projected expenditure to last well into 2022. The Board of Directors is confident that sufficient funding is in place to meet all its operational and exploration commitments over the next twelve months and to remain cash positive for the whole period'

So in theory I am not expecting ANY! fund raises this year unless something transpires that we do not already know about!
Jeez , I got it in the neck when I ventured GH was selling and from some of you who are now speculating why he is, now that it is official.
No way is he shorting or any other Bullyesque trade type ( which frankly do not make sense ).
Why and how much he is selling is his own business and should not be seen as a red flag.
Hi Littlecrumbs,
Yes, I see what you mean and thank you for your good wishes, returned of course. I am still very certain of eventual major success with ggp. Anything from five to ten times the current price within 18 months but only if the business potential gets re-absorbed by the market.
Patient as ever here but come on GGP!!
For me the reason GH is not explaining is NDA I take the non communication as an agreed sale which explains the current sp. I would be more concerned if there was no reason other than I wanted a new Yacht
Merc I take your point but you are an intelligent guy to know that a simple explanation would settle any concerns especially as he was in a position of CEO. Furthermore why sell 50% (or more) when he had confidence to buy 500k this year because the market was "playing games" at a higher price than he has likely sold at. He could clear this up in a jot... "it's for personal reasons,it's in trust,it is for the family now while they can enjoy it, it's for a riverside property", etc unless of course he is still selling and that could be why there is no simple explanation forthcoming.
I back the thought that he can do what he wants but given his very recent status, his public endorsement to SD and the legacy and foundation he has left that it would be right and proper to be somewhat transparent.
One thing is certain IMO is that if he sells out completely I would expect the MM's to do what they do best !

Investors sell but slice whatever it changes nothing regarding outlook, we still have finance to be dealt with another subject after I noted GH sells that to date only one constructive informed reply but again I've mapped out what options are available within certain timelines and possible effects with this it allows a stronger position in understanding short medium and longer term value. As I stated I've been buying post xmas average 22p I'm doing this based on what sp bands I forecast at each stage. But what do I know?
Little crumbs said "if GH is a willing seller & instos are willing buyers that’s a perfectly straightforward & legit movement of shares & all without creating a stir in the market".
First part I agree with but not the second part. A friend of mine invested at 38p. What do I tell him more than I have told him many times that this is just a blip, a dope reflecting some sort of shenanigans etc etc.? He is 50% down and has watched that value sink away every single day for over four months.
I will try to tell him that it's ok. It's nothing to worry about, not even a stir. It's wearing a bit thin.
Sorry to lay that on you but this damn drip drip dripping away is becoming intolerable.
Wow, 24 hrs later and this topic is still going on.
If i was £16million to the good, and there was even a 1% chance that the Australian Gov might nationalise their mines (yes yes i know its never going to happen) but even so if there was a teenie tiny minute chance that the last few years was all for nothing, i’d probably take £8m out too.
Everyone for the last few years here has been bleeting on about “slicing some and letting the rest ride” but when GH does it suddenly nothing makes sense and all the sherlock holmes come out of the woodwork.
It is funny
If and it’s a big if, I’d have a small punt on NCM new CFO in the GH sweepstake,
just for fun mind and hedge it with he’s just going to enjoy himself.
Yes I know that but thats not what he means. Plus its a very costly way to trade, to be both long and short and keep both positions open at the same time. And the NETT position is a combination of the two.
I was trying to help those who misuse terminology and explain things to those who dont understand. Obviously more than happy to get into esoteric discussions with you but perhaps not here. Fly over to Tigs little get together and we discuss the finer points....
I'd certainly agree with that, Spy. Though I really think it incredibly unlikely that he's going to NCM.
Lots of gold - good amount of copper rising price 14k a ton short term safe country - buy
@jerry
"How can someone who owns millions of shares 'short' something? They arent shorting it, they are just selling it. If you were both short and long a million shares you would be neither. You would be square."
Actually, being pedantic, this can happen in a relatively illiquid market, though it would only typically be IIs that would do it, and usually only in fixed income funds. Basically, they have an asset that they want to hold long term, but in the short term, they need to reduce exposure. It may be because of portfolio balance requirements, or simply because they see a short term risk that they wish to mitigate.
So for a week or month or three months, they might short (in part or in whole) something they actually hold. With a liquid asset, you'd just sell and buy back, but if the asset is in short supply, that may not be practical.
It doesn't make sense to do that in Bully's scenario, for several reasons, including that the short is not without cost, and that to open a short position you'd have to disclose the material fact that you are about to be selling millions of shares. At which point the counterparty would say, "No thanks." And if you didn't disclose it the liability hit you'd face would be substantial. And, it would probably be criminal.
But you can, and sometimes institutions will, open a short on assets that you hold and intend to continue to hold.
/pedant
Bully, he hasnt taken out a leveraged short position. Firstly its not leveraged and secondly its not a short position, its a sale of his position, part or in full. Secondly if GH cant sell the position without moving the market why on earth would a professional outfit take on his liquidity risk without some large compensation.
You seemed to have read a few market terminology phrases and jumbled them up into an incoherent sentence.
I dont think you know what you are talking about, and thats about as polite as I can make it.
FWIW as usual I agree with TMT. He is quite prudently selling down his overly large position. My guess he will stop with somewhere between 25 and 40 million shares left in his holding.
TMT you are correct. what I meant is he needs to reduce down for personal reasons or COI. he is not doing it for fun. its just a conundrum that will spin a myriad of reasons but for certain, that man will not be shorting GGP if any forward negotiations that take him the route to NCM (if thats his destination) as it will, regardless of proof, make everyone think NCM are dodgy.
Its GH's shares, not in our control, next!
@Bully. An interest rate swap is a swap on, well, interest rates. Interest rate swaps are not used to hedge equity price risk. You use it to lock in an interest rate -- if rates go up or down, you will receive or pay money based on how much they move. But equity prices are not directly linked (and often not linked at all) to interest rate changes.
Perhaps you could provide some source describing the actions you think GH might have taken to lock in a SP. I'd find that interesting. Your descriptions of it aren't really adding up.
Jaguar. GH Has proved himself to be one of the best in Class and familiar with all aspects of their partner GGP and tenements.
If I was Newcrest you add that invaluable skill set to your team
But what do I know
@Spy "until someone comes up with a genuine valid explanation why GH might have to drop stock,"
How about he had a huge percentage of his personal wealth invested in GGP and he wanted to diversify? Isn't that good enough?
Maybe with his wealth profile, having 40 million shares (£8 million) in one company is enough risk? Maybe he's selling further and taking it down to 20 million. Isn't £4 million in one company enough?
If I had that much money, I'd be putting some of it in stuff that would be completely safe no matter what happens.
If he sells out completely, then you'd think it is probably a conflict of interest situation. But partial divestment? Just portfolio rebalancing, in all likelihood. An entirely reasonable thing to do.
WOW.
he issued an rns saying he had purchased stock. can you imagine how much damage he would inflict on himself he was found out to be playing the market after that RNS.
headlines....CEO shorts a business he still actively promotes. Career ends...WTF.
I think if GH is going to Newcrest it's been handed very badly by all concerned. Having GH at NCM is better than having him elsewhere from GGP perspective. All of his shares would have been gobbled up long before we hit 20p. I could be wrong, I often am ;)
BB
Hi Spy. So many unanswered questions. Best just to ride this correction out and wait for the re rate. Guessing why is almost as pointless as SP predictions. ATB Speedy
Tymers now that would be an interesting development .. GH to Newcrest ..hmmmm
until someone comes up with a genuine valid explanation why GH might have to drop stock, I am sticking with he either needed some money now he is no longer a CEO running/living off an expenses sheet or he's under a conflict of interest agreement.
he did not decide to sell to tank the sp. some of the stuff put on here is ridiculous.
