@Malvolio "True. But you also have to take into account any changes in the MCAP of the other index constituents."
Technically you are right, but as Hydro says, we've got a huge jump on them. Yes, if other constituents increase in value it will somewhat blunt the increase in GGP's weighting. We're still on track for another big buy, even if our SP levels off at 22-23p.
‘’ RTC your market cap need to be $75m to be deleted... it’s at lot harder to get deleted than it is to get promoted. Very poorly researched comment we are such a tiny weight these moves in vaneck mean nothing l. They are still buying more in December’’
Hydrogen:- you’ve hit the nail on the head, well, sort of.
It would be much better if our MCAP was £75m, as the same % loss to GEXJ would equate only to around £700,000... not the £6m i tagged earlier.
A £75m entry MCAP is irrelevant. I am only referring to the losses they are currently incurring/expect to lose. Although much like SB’s punt- twas a gamble for them. Let’s hope it pays off as well for VanEck as it did for SB:D
"Morning Hydrogen, Why are they buying more in December?"
'Weighting is based on free float market cap. Higher price means higher market cap means higher weighting in December, if the price holds...... ' True. But you also have to take into account any changes in the MCAP of the other index constituents.

Weighting is based on free float market cap. Higher price means higher market cap means higher weighting in December, if the price holds.
" Easy to say something was predictable when it’s already happened."
I did predict that it might happen. Check the board history. Got abuse for it but I was right.
Not a prediction as such YNWA91 but last Friday I posted this:
"This share has spiked and retraced every month this year.
The biggest retrace was around 43% in March and the smallest was 6% in June.
Since April all the drops have been below 20% the average drop is 18%"

So now we know GGP is one of those companies whose share price goes down after entry into the GDXJ. But as the earlier research also showed later the share price recovers and goes up higher than entry price. GLA
Ah yes, I see now, Hydrogen. Thank you for explaining that. I am now sitting with a huge smile on my face. :)

Chaps millions of shares were purchased at 27p. Mms are playing games again and getting cheap shares when people r panick and sell. Hold on this will booom
Morning Hydrogen, Why are they buying more in December? I thought they'd corrected their mistake and bought all the shares they need for the GDXJ?
ATB
Spot on hydro. Poor comment from RTC clearly did no reading on the GDJX situation. They don’t just sell as and when they decide based on profit. To drop out is based on very binary criteria on Mcap and daily volume, neither of which are going to be breached by Dec. If anything, they’ll likely have to buy more in Dec with all the news we have due!
If it was so predictable I presume you sold your entire holding end of last week and bought them all back now at the low? Easy to say something was predictable when it’s already happened.
Morning Ekise, looks like a good re entry point for you now
You and many others are looking at it the wrong way.
Think what caused the minor upturn last week and there is your answer.
Predictable last week and this week so chill and await the next piece of news
Spot on, let the MM play their games, and when everyone has taken their positions, normal service will be resumed.
Positive news will propel the SP, but keep in mind, these same institutions will offload at some stage in the future, probably a few years away.....
Fenix - not sure if you’ve noticed but equity markets across the board are jittery with the potential impact of a second wave of this thing called COViD, gold has taken a bit of a drop and also the MMs taking the opportunity to rinse weak holders out of their shares. Fundamentals have not changed here and look to only get better.
I would also argue that the 27p spike from GDXJ is a little bit of a false peak due to overwhelming demand. It didn’t last long so I’d say we’re more like 10% down from the 24p high base we had seen. Minuscule compared to the rise in 2020 - nothi N goes up in a straight line.

People selling ....if you don't sell it makes it harder for the mm's to disguise the trades, play them at their own games.
JBER now on the Bid
Name, blame , shame derampers as a warning to
Muppet investors. Lenigas used to be one of them.
He has the skill to pump and is welcomed to do so.
Highly doubtful. Minor down turn that will quickly change with the slightest sniff of positive news.
Could we be first ever company removed out of the GDXJ in their first reshuffle? VanEck already down £6m
