Looks like some people have been given the heads up that the results due Tuesday are likely to be positive. Excellent volume Friday. I am anticipating more blue on Monday as high as 275p as people take places for the results
Seem to want more...and not the only ones
You don't charge for postage? I do!
I sell books which cost £30.00, and with tracking the customer pays £23.00 postage if it is to a Rest of the World address. Those books are heavy.
A lighter one, which sells for £14.00, has postage added of £4.00 to the EU, £6.00 and £9.00 outside the EU.
I give options for Tracked or International Standard for customers in non-dodgy territories, and offer only Tracked for the unreliable destinations.
I thought people buying online expect to pay for postage!
But I have little experience of eBay...
Anyway, interesting to hear. I'm sure I could triple my sales if I took the hits for the postage. Given that you can claim the postage off tax, do you think it works out much the same in the end, but with the added volume of sales?
LM
i always like this as a christmas stock
but we have to note uk sales were crap,,using that terminology,, the four letter word is always wet and sticky, meaning it will not get better soon...... this needs consideration,, because if you tread in it it sticks to your wellys,,so it will stay with you for a year or two,, do not expect a quick exit here
Now international sales are all to do with the exchange rate being good for international purchasers,, i note one of my business's being ebay trading,, 80% of sales are all international...this is really noticeable,,and most unusual,, well simply it costs normally £23 to send a parcel abroad,,so a sale at 50 uses near 50% profit to post the item...nice to say charge the customer the postage,,,THIS IS ONLINE AND CUSTOMERS EXPECT EVERYTHING EXTRA AS FREE
now what has altered,, search international post at www.parcel2go.com and note the new player,,note also the new players share price
Appreciate we are not quite there yet on the suggested £13 in the RNS for 2021 but we are now trading at margins as we were in 2018 WITH increased sales so £6 is not unachieveable especially with the christmas sales period coming up, there best ever and with world trades looking favorable for the exchange rate against the pound G$M should really do well now.
I am very pleased to report that we have achieved our primary objective for the period of materially improving our gross margins. By cutting out less profitable sales and focusing on higher margin products, we have delivered an FY20 H1 gross margin of 25.2% and a 29% increase in gross profit.
Fantastic RNS!
“We hope” unsure about that comment Sorros, TR1 doesn’t lie, AXA ARE buying.
Sorros... what am I smoking? I’m simply stating what’s in the RNS. Nothing more.
what are you smoking gareth £13 ?
Time for the BOD to start bringing out the good news, if they are aiming for £13 in 16 months then it’s not gonna suddenly be “£13”... so we need news to start rolling out about margins increasing.
we hope.
AXA Investment Managers increased their holding this week, perhaps they know something we don’t? This was over £5 last year, if they have sorted their margins and storage centre out then it’s likely to go back to that and beyond having previously seen the highs of over £8!
Looking forward to the trading update, results in November.
On 13 November 2018 the Group announced a new long-term management incentive plan to incentivise senior employees in a manner aligned with the interests of the Company’s shareholders.
The plan involved the issue of 210,000 'B' Ordinary shares in Gear4music Limited, a subsidiary of the Company. These 'B' shares vest from 2021-26 and can be exchanged on a one-for-one basis for new ordinary Company shares subject to meeting specified criteria, including reaching a specified target share price for 80% of the award (see below), and pre-determined revenue and profitability targets for 20%.
The 'B' shares are non-voting, non-dividend restricted shares. The initial subscription cost was paid by way of a cash bonus that has been expensed in FY19.
Financial year ending: Share price hurdle Maximum number of shares vesting
31 March 2021 £13 27,300
31 March 2022 £16 29,400
31 March 2023 £20 33,600
31 March 2024 £24 35,700
31 March 2025 £29 39,900
31 March 2026 £35 44,100
The share price hurdle being the average closing mid-price in the 30-day period following announcement of preliminary results.
Trading update on 22 Oct (for six months ending 30 September), half-year results 12 November: straddling the Brexit like a helicoptoring rock guitarist.
Lovely little update from G4M. Gives a lot of confidence that they are on for a good year. Huge buy late in the afternoon shows that confidence is returning which will hopefully drive the SP back above £5 during the next 6 months. Cheers.
next trading statement falls on my birthday ....how fortunate is that..gla
loss before tax £0.6m for year ended 31 March 2019 (previous year: profit of £1.5m)

- Cost of sales up 53% to £91.2m
- Administrative expenses up 47% to £26.9m (European administrative costs up 83%)
Chief executive Andrew Wass said the company had been focusing on improving gross margins during the year to prepare for its peak trading period in the second half
Final Results were last week.
Should be soon no ?
Another £130K buy just gone through....I have read through their results and it loooks like they are going to concentrate on improving margin over the next few months and get everything in place for a great end of year. If this all happens then this could be transformational from a SP perspective. Cheers
