Reinstate the divi?
I thought it was going ex-div on 4th October...
"Both of these eventualities coming to pass could send the SP back to the dizzy heights of the good old days."
If everything else were equal, that might be true. But unfortunately, there are twice as many shares in issue now compared with 'the good old days', so you have to remember that half the price today equals the previous prices of yesterday.
Also, surely the low price of oil today, compared with two years ago, is also a bit of a bummer in terms of UKOG's worth?
Don't get me wrong: I have been holding a few million UKOG shares for what seems like ages, and on paper am obviously down by a long way, and so there is nothing that would give me greater joy than to see a return to 'the good old days'.
After all, that's why I'm still holding, obviously, in the hope that I might get at least some of my money back.

'Look at the buys now'
Yes, but I doubt that they're happy now, too.
I haven't got much powder to keep dry - unfortunately, just before this mini little crash, I had been on a slight spending spree throughout my portfolio - but what I've got left I'm keeping for the moment. It's at least possible that there's much further to fall, yet.
LM
So goes the click-bait headline in today's Telegraph article.
It certainly looks pretty dire. I thought I was safe here, it being a ftse 100 company and all that, and that even if there were a few irregularities the company was still basically all as it appeared to be.
However, I’m still hoping that the correct share price, though much lower than the historic highs, is still higher than where it is at the moment, never mind the headline. Fingers crossed, anyway.
LM
Well, I missed jumping in just above 800.
On the other hand, I never worry (for long) about missed opportunities. I reason that every single day of every single week we miss a thousand trading opportunities - because we don't know about them. And every single day, there are more.
In my case, every single day there are more opportunities to lose money, but hey - I'll get it right one day I hope.
Meanwhile, a dodgy trading screen that confuses every issue doesn't help.
LM
Thanks, and sure, but it's not in auction now but I see 8.18/8.17 - oh, now 8.21/8.15 - but I see trades going through every few seconds.
Is it only me, or do others have this problem - where the bid keeps showing higher than the ask?
LM
(who does not know how much of the business he owns oh and has been frantically selling what he does?)
Why do you use that word 'frantically'? Where did that come from? You're not, by any chance, just making it up, are you?
The trouble is, when I read something like that, it makes me want to disregard the rest.
But then, what we are all meant to be doing on these boards anyway is putting a question mark on what anyone says, on principle!
LM
Definitely good news.
LM
"And if the board and chair can’t work out who owns what, how can we trust their competence in running the company’s finances?"
I don't think that that's a fair statement. It doesn't follow at all that other things are necessarily bad. It's just verbiage to fill his MF article.
LM
Can anyone help?
First, what are all the little trades of between 1 and 9? Why would anyone buy or sell one share? Are they marketmaker-to-marketmaker signals?
Second, why are there only two marketmakers doing nearly all the trades, when there are eleven others who always keep their prices way out of the current range, and are almost never part of the action?
Thanks in advance,
LM
Isn't that surprising? Normally, in such bid situations, the 8.3s come in for at least a week or two.
Perhaps the remaining bid is definitely off the table, but we haven't been told yet.
Caution reading this: I know nothing, and am more likely to be talking rubbish than not.
LM
When there's a takeover bid, all shareholders with more than 1% have to declare their holdings. These RNS's are going to go on and on.
LM
"Only reason I'm being positive is because the company are now starting to be honest!"
How can you make this statement? Have you got a direct line to a) the company, or b) the team investigating?
Thanks, Wiser
LM
No comment from anyone?
I bought small amounts twice today.
I hope I can pick up more at this new low price on Monday.
LM
One explanation is that it's because there's nothing more they can say. Meanwhile, they've locked themselves in their offices, pulled the curtains, turned the lights off, and they're sitting there in the dark desperately hoping that this will all go away.
Another explanation is...hang on...I'm sure there must be one...
Er, yes, I get that. But why buy now when they're clearly going to be cheaper if you wait, is all I'm asking.
I'm watching on Level 2, and every sale that goes through, I think "Noooooo!!! Why???" And then the price falls again.
