Or does he have some more potential news to start to turn sentiment back to positive to share with Alan Green... would be a smart move to keep something up the sleeve
I think what I like about CB is he is emotionally invested, so was a bit rattled on the interview. However he has a plan and a way forward, drill, learn, drill, negotiate, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, drill.... then panic.... I don’t understand why so many holders crystallised losses before doing the above
Lol
well I did top up when it dipped below 2p as it seemed a worthwhile opportunity - so it's not as if I've bailed out.
jtb - I can see some advantage to a place where you can deliberately play devils advocate for the sake of debating contrarian or conflicting opinions without fear of things descending into emotional gibberish and personal insults...
However as the saying goes the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I share your view that this may well come good in the long run but I suspect we may be in a for a few lean months before things start to look more positive again. As I've said I'll just tuck my shares in the bottom drawer and forget about them for a while and see where we are later in the year.
@Ad12 - well without wishing to labour a point one of many thinks I have done in my past was help set up a research facility for the national fishing heritage centre and through that did end up doing work both with ministry of agg & fisheries compiling data which in turn lead to me being involved in a minor way with some promotional work with the BBC for our nation's favourite dish - namely fish and chips - except the very point of the research was suggesting that it wasn't as curry had become more popular!
As for York I know it fairly well as I used to work their for the York archaeological trust.
there's a chip shop near me called the happyhaddock in York....and there was my thinking you're a frying part time investor lol.....sounds like quite a life....interesting to see how such a diverse group of people end up investing in a junior gold mine. On my part, i'm a part time investor, starting only last year, run a fish and chip shop up north and write about the existentialism of British Asian identity....
Feel like the chat will continue in this vein for a few months now until we here more about the Creswick contracting - also got the 2 drill holes to look forward to. In the mean time i feel like the macro economy will continue to prop up the Gold price . For me that's why i entered this sector, i think the Gold sector will be a hot one - should maybe have spread my eggs across a few more plays but hey ho..
anwyays getting close to tea time, better fry my fish cakes
@ paulFG - the cruelest curse ever inflicted was giving somebody the intelligence to fully recognise the true extent of their own ignorance.
@happyhaddock - wisdom is knowing you know less everyday.
100% agree those not invested should really move on. I think this reaction of 6holes and a placing is Abit over the top but mm,s will make the most of it. Think next month or so will natural push up again
JTB I have a lot of sympathy with your view and suggestion, I too have become fed up with this BB of late and some of the nonsense posted, also disappointed that some of those LT participants who I respect appear to have given up or at least only contribute infrequently. However The Happy Haddock makes a good point though. Perhaps best to visit the board less often and also to block those contributors who are clearly of no value.
@ paulFG among other things I am a published author, and have done copywriting for various internationally circulated publications so I know what you mean, that said my main income is as a freelance artist which is another crowd that can be very insular. Not as insular it has to be said as those who work in IT which is where I started out having first trained as a scientist.... However I could go on about all I've done and leave people thinking I'm some delusional fantasist. I'm always amazed at the number of journalists who want to interview me about my life because they say it sounds so unusual and who then doubt what I have to say because it is ,well... unusual...
I've always maintained that education is about making people aware of how much they are ignorant about ... being able to step outside and see to the horizon is all well and good, the intelligent are the ones who want to know what is just over the horizon and who will risk the unknown and the new to find out.
@happyhaddock - that's very true. I have a lot of author friends and all their friends are writers and they all follow each other everywhere (twitter fb etc etc) and they're the most out of touch insular group I know and they never understand why their books don't do better - because everyone they know loves everything they write. Surprise Surprise...
jtb, the danger of such groups is that they become echo chambers of confirmation bias...
I once heard it said that you create a community by bringing together people of diverse motivations and interests and a ghetto by limiting things to those all of the same background and mindset.
It is true there is a lot of fickle and emotional garbage to wade through on these boards but you become a better investor by learning how others think and then reacting to this appropriately, rather than blindly emulating it.
Always interested in learning more JTB. Find myself flicking through too much emotional stuff on these boards - should see the telegram group the last few days....
What format are you thinking? And surely it just becomes another bulletin style board?
From those more knowledgeable than myself, is it safe to assume that a contracted rig/team is fairly quick to get operational? Perhaps news on this front will come sooner than anticipated.
A license award springing up will instantly ignite JV excitement in as well (talking positives) - out of our control but could happen anytime!
Gold is so so close to kissing 1800
*if
Very much agree. Especially in regards to the second drill. Look how long it took for Midas to be delivered, setup etc. Not to mention we will then need another team to operate it.
Another immediate positive is that gold is on the up.
An RNS outlining a ‘contracted’ drilling campaign at CW will definitely get sentiment back on the right foot.
We also await the last 2 assays which by all accounts are much more targeted.
I agree, we’ve had weeks of negativity. For those wanting to see ECR come good let’s discuss some positives, as there are many of you care to look.
Ok. Many of us have given CB a verbal bloody nose, which is deserved imo. However, those of us still in this and who would like to see their investment do well should begin to list the positives to help us move forwards.
I'm not on this board much as my main holdings are in other stocks so the info I have isn't as deeply researched as it could be.
I feel the interview was not very good, and as someone else pointed out, CB seemed angry...Cres Wick...no need. Very dour and unenthusiastic.
However, I was delighted to hear that he has contracted another drill rig to drill for us. This is hugely positive due to not having to wait for Midas#2 to be delivered, then commissioned, then a team recruited and trained etc. A drilling contractor will have the skills and possibly a higher specced machine so should be more efficient and any downtime due to drill bit breakages minimised. Massive positive.
Another positive is that the JV is apparently still on the table (as long as CB can be believed)
I think this will now only move upwards on results, not words or hype. So getting on with drilling, assays and securing a JV are the most important things for us to look forward to.
Those more researched, please add more positives below. The negatives have been well covered over the last couple of days.
