'I don't think their transitioning's very convincing.'
She is running out of time to come up with renewable answers, this is a good read, but!
https://world-nuclear.org/information-library/country-profiles/countries-o-s/spain.aspx
'Under Spain's nuclear phase-out policy, its nuclear fleet is scheduled to shut down by 2035. The first reactor is planned to be taken offline in 2027.
As Spain is essentially separate from the EU grid – a small amount of power can be traded with France – electricity self-sufficiency is a major policy consideration.'
So there you go they will still take nuclear energy from the French grid if they cannot come up with answers by 2027 when they start taking theirs off line. However in the interests of EU energy security surely to take yellow cake within the EU territory makes more sense.
At some point she will have to be removed.
Teresa Ribera
Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain
I don't think their transitioning's very convincing.
Yes that question needs to be put to the Spanish Interior Minister of sitting beneath golden showers Teresa Ribera!
The general director of the International Energy Agency ("IEA") has said that nuclear energy works in an "impeccable way" and that countries planning to leave the sector, such as Spain and Germany, should "think twice" since the alternatives increase polluting emissions or dependence on third parties.
'Teresa take note, finish your golden shower'
Looks like she washes her boat race in the stuff, Teresa the Minister for Urophagia!
To add the Swedish minister's quote:
"If the European union is to become the first climate-neutral continent, access to sustainable metals and minerals must be ensured. We need to use the uranium we have, instead of sorting it out and considering it as waste, as is the case now - due to the current ban on mining uranium," says Minister for Climate and the Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari.[3]
I like the way she's tied it to the wider EU climate neutral aspiration and using "the uranium we have".
Teresa take note, finish your golden shower and permit BKY's uranium extraction in Spain and get tf on with it fast.
Teresa Ribera would rather marinate in her own urine for the rest of her life than be defeated by the glaringly obvious, Nuclear energy is the way forward!
She is out of date and out of touch and for now it is the farmers protesting, who next?
No not ramping another share but rather drawing attention to the fact that lobbying by AURA to get the Swedish Gov to re think its ban on Uranium Mining has resulted in them agreeing to debate the issue.
BKY may well benefit if Sweden changes its position in May......
If the EU is concerned about safguarding fuel supplies for nuclear power plants then having mines in safe havens makes perfect sense. Not that common sense has influenced the EU in the past or present.
Wow I have seen some of the footage in Telegram, it was only a matter of time before the people stood up against their Government.
Ribera will be in the cross hairs sooner or later.

What, if anything, has she done that has any constructive use for the people of Spain?
Some big picture charts on the uranium sector:

Not that the socialists in Madrid will realise they are sat on Europes only potential Uranium Mine right now.
I wonder how much electric they pull from the French nuclear grid?
Spanish politics not much better than African politics imo. Spanish Gov energy policies are wilfully stupid, even sunny countries need a base load electrical supply.
Edging up. Possibly market thinking Sanchez' efforts to give an amnesty to the seditionists are doomed so his coalition's doomed too meaning fresh elections and a more pro nuke govt. The Catalans have his balls in a vice.

So this is a great watch on broken energy

So what is Ribera’s answers to the magnitude of problems confronting the people of Spain?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zi-G9ZsSJY
The Spanish people have the right to ask why they have not got cheap and green abundant energy for manufacturing to make themselves competitive on the world stage!
She is a fool and dangerous individual.
Just think if they had enriching facilities and nuclear power stations they could send a lot to Africa and have a good part of that continent under their sphere of influence for trade and relations. I am beyond bewildered at Spanish policy, these are fools in government.
Bonker thx for reply. I see you on X posting about BKY. I share your bullish view notwithstanding the permitting issues.
What do you make of these after hours trades again today at a premium? Same thing happened yesterday.
Hey Dibs - no, I took a few chunks yesterday.
Bonker are you the £1285 buyer today?
Agree - I've started layering in courtesy of YCA profits ...
Cameco's up over 6% today. Production concerns at Kazatomprom. U spot price at 15 year high. Demand exceeding supply. Good time to permit BKY's mine maybe?
And the uk gets it too...

Come on Spain
US get it. Spain are just watching the planet roast and buying Russian stuff 🤦 The Russians must be laughing all the way to the bank.
President Joe Biden's administration sees the new reactors and maintaining the current fleet of nuclear plants as critical for its climate change agenda.
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-seeks-jump-start-production-higher-energy-uranium-now-made-russia-2024-01-09/
Plenty going on in the courts. Appeals against Miteco's refusal to permit and the annulment of the exceptional use and urbanism licences. Hopefully everything will be facing the right direction soon. There couldn't be a better time to get digging. A strategy update would indeed be welcome.
