Champagne

So Tim is to stop selling Champagne in Wetherspoon pubs in the run up to Brexit! I am sure that is going to make a whole bunch of difference to the clientele of our local JDW outlets most of which are frequented by people frittering away their Giro's on cheap beer and nipping out the front door for a quick Fag! LOL

Not sure what’s caused the drop today,? Unless someone can assist. Ex doc tomurrowbut only a few pence so hopefully no change but with a year pack with sports and still well frequently value pubs I am hopeful that this is ananoaly as minimum trades so far today.

Wetherspoons will be fine
1 Apr '18
What do consumers want? Cheap food of reasonable quality. I say reasonable in that it doesn't have to be a cuisine, just hot enough and tasty. Wetherspoons hits the nail on the head in this respect. Yesterday my two local Wetherspoons pubs were packed to the rafters because nobody can really be bothered to cook on Easter weekend these days and nobody wants to pay a fortune.

It's true that years ago Wetherspoons went a little crazy with their expansion plans and opened too many pubs. Now that those pubs are closing and being sold, the company should be more capable of continuing to strengthen its balance sheet. I also feel they can put prices up by 20% without much impact to sales. Yesterday I bought a double beef burger with chips and a pint of pepsi max for 6.40. I feel a price increase to 8 for this meal would go largely unnoticed. I was surprised at how cheap it was.

I judge this company from the perspective of a consumer and I can't see how they can fail because they do what they set out to do really well. That said placing a value on them in the current climate is more difficult and they might have some way to fall.
