Wetherspoon (J.D) Share Price (JDW)

I think you and I are pretty similar Carrington, with me (to use a pub metaphor) a bit more glass half empty.

Believe me I want JDW to succeed and think for the reasons you give that it may well do. I think the modest bounce in the past couple of days may be due in part to buying due to dividend reinvestment. I'm watching closely at the moment and if there are signs of narrowing the price cap of JDWs offerings compared to other pubs by, say 25%, then I will be filling my boots with shares believe me. Not forgetting that idiot Reeves measures didn't impact until the start of April, then I think I will wait for the explicit effect on the bottom line is available After all the SP is back to the general level it was before the October budget - that leads me to believe that the SP of one of them (pre October budget and now) may be wrong.

Of course JDW establishing itself as a regular dividend payer will help as it opens the population of investors that will consider buying.

I think I actually made an error selling some before the 7 quid mark John - have added the ones I sold back at 714p - I think there is much more upside here - prices have increased with food and drink albeit marginally but the market share for JDW will imo go up dramatically - I can see this playing out large scale - it is being reflected locally to me - yesterday afternoon I drove past my local JDW and the beer garden was packed out - on a Monday! - mainly OAPS having a few beers and some lunch whereas the other pubs in town were more or less empty - my target here is 10 quid, not a penny less - gla dyor etc.

Back to sitting on the fence for me. The share slumped after Reeves opened her mouth, unfortunately just after I had doubled my investment at a cost of over £7,

So I sat on them and unloaded this 'excess' at around £7.20. I don't think I want to move either way until the effect of Reeves attack on business gets reflected in JDWs bottom line, to see if it will remain comfortably profitable and dividend paying. Time will tell though I am not convinced without an acceleration in increasing prices.
