Correct Bucolic. FUM gives me all the “excitement” I can take !!
I for one don’t believe Barder does not know what he has done here! How many people would have reviewed the RNS’s before release?? & non of them could see the fallout from it?? Too many mistakes equals incompetence! Look at FUM’s history sorry but it’s filled with incompetence! I feel when they have done things right it’s been Luck! LO as people have said are just as much to blame as don’t assume they are a silent partner in all of this!
No crypto, Maninthewoods?
I also emailed Barder last night, saying the BOD weren't up for the job, esp the CFO. It's not the first time I've written to complain about the lack of skills of the CFO. I also said not to bether sending the email to Invester Relations as they aren't very good either.
Maybe more people should complain direct to Barder.
Or maybe we should contact Lombard and get them to kick out the BOD. I did look on their website, but couldn't find who to contact.
The only blue in my holdings today
I should have finished by saying that the same happened at IQE ( semiconductor design and manufacturers) where scientists developed a great product but had no idea how to interact with the investment community so IMO failed to take advantage of the potential.
PSV - Yes I have written to Barder highlighting the glaring deficiencies in the skill set of senior management ( him and FD in particular) and he simply passed my note to his external PR to reply which said nothing. I have seen this situation play out in many small caps where you have inventor/ scientist/ chemist types creating an exciting new product yet they fail to optimise the potential as they don’t have the courage or awareness to bring in people who possess the skills required for the next chapter in the development of the business. This is when the Chairman/ NED’s should step in. I can only hope that something changes here before it is too late.
Despite the huge slide in SP, I'm convinced that this will find traction and the SP will rise in 2024.
I'm waiting for payday, then I'll be buying more to get my average down.
Right time/price to buy more ?
Take a small cap stock with circa 300m shares in issue, then
Add
- a determined seller of up to 9.8 million shares (Co High) +
- up to 2.65m shares that may be sold by company insiders +
- wretchedly poor guidance and communications by its CEO (James Barder)
- poor investor relations, especially over-dependence on Lombard, a lack of success in securing buying interest from the hundreds of investment managers out there, use of Trinity Delta (who they?) for investment coverage
- poor public relations, reflected in choice of ‘fireside chats’ with who’s he? analysts and use of public backwaters (Proactive Investors) rather than eg breakfast TV, or Radio 4’s Today (3 hours listened to every day by major political, economic and social ‘rainmakers’)
- poor corporate / PR advisers, who are simply disconnected from the concerns of rank and file long term investors
Then the circa 40% collapse in the share price since the interims becomes eminently explainable. Note - some companies would by now have issued a statement to the effect that “they are unaware of any reason for the movement in share price...” The fact that hasn’t happened means JB is (painfully) aware of all of the above (to lesser or greater degrees). In his defence, we can’t really expect him to tell us Co High are actively selling down their stake.
Share prices overshoot, in both directions. At sub £100m tonight, against £1.7m H1 sales from two countries and, in the UK, two outlets. Yes, the valuation is ridiculously low. But the seller is determined to exit, especially now Futura has made the market aware the agreement has been terminated. It’s frustrating in the extreme for other shareholders, and awful for those forced to meet their liquidity needs by selling at these prices. It would all have been avoidable IF the other factors above had not meant market demand for Futura’s shares since the interims had not dried up.
Things will improve. BUT the supply-demand imbalance needs to be cleared, so that positive newsflow pushes the share price up rather than, as now, simply facilitating the dumping of more unwanted shares, and a further decline in their market price. This is how markets work. Without an obvious institutional or trade buyer for Co High’s stake, the unwanted shares are flowing through the market, and the price is adjusting downwards as a result.
It’s an ugly, stomach-churning, watch. JB should have strategised this as a threat to the future share price when he sold the shares to Co High in 2021. He has done absolutely nothing to minimise that threat. Strategising is the role of corporate strategy. From memory, Futura has a permanent staff of 15, focused on R&D rather than other functions. It needs to upskill its approach to business, employing people with new skills, in order to protect and grow shareholder value.
😊DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS
RE: What is going on?23 Oct 2023 14:09
Me impatient?
Me neither, I have been in and out over 15 years. This has eventually got to market and it should be going up. It's NOTHING to do with impatience.
Told, you and Ananda must be mates!
Imagine a few distressed sellers sold out on your street for 50% the true value.
Has the price of your home gone down ? No rather someone has sold out at a massive loss.
Now imagine your street was being targeted by excited buyers who wanted to move near to a fantastic new bussines and they paid over the odds has your house gone up ? No.
But imagine news was emerging about your area that a new train station was to open and a new shopping mall and other wonderfull things. But no one was selling would the prices in your area be about to explode ? yes
WELL THATS EROXXON NOW just watch the show.
Did you see ENET today move up by 200% ????
Well thats child play for FUM IMO
Oh dear, we're doomed. It wasn't so long ago Darth I told you off (remotely) for posting about people "bed wetting" regarding our beloved FUM but since then I have noted a certain despondency from you of all people.
... and again the crowd goes wild! Oh.......
Fkin wild horses aint gonna drag this shyte show up. Not even marinating it with its own product, anyone tried that yet? Yeah thats a great idea lets go with that.
Unbelievable......for whatever reason the price is ridiculous.
As a long term holder along with many on here , it's hard not to be frustrated with this stock price on the back of a series of ground breaking positive news. The descent of the stock has really only come about post the investors call. Todays announcement is of course welcome news for us but seems to have the opposite effect on the sp which I put down down to day trading for small gain
Ffs let's have some bad news tomorrow then this might go up!
Nothing is going to move this SP up based on break even & profit 2025 comment! Well done Barder you Fwit. Should have just said revenue growth through 2024 onwards with peak sales expected after 5years of £xx!
Quick search for latest FUM news and it’s only Proactive picking this up. There in lies the problem, poor media relations.
"With this sign-off, the erectile dysfunction (ED) product can be sold in Mexico without a prescription. It plugs the Futura's fast-acting gel into a large new market, building on the success it has seen in the UK and Belgium."
On Proactive an hr ago.
Looking over thee curve?
I interpret that (ref Uk and Belgium )as currently (now) as well.
It is for sale in many outlets now (Asda online etc.) Boots still selling good as an incremental (probs repeats, which will prove to be the Sp fwd catalyst)
I think peeps will be surprised and caught out at Q4R myself, like at Q2R?
That is my Crystal Ball fwd take.
I think a lot will be left in the Stalls big time after the Horse has bolted!
We shall see.
USA sales will spin off plenty of cash. No more fundraising here. Lots of upside and limited downside at this level now.
Lol.
It was signed over 2yrs ago.
I note another variant as per different deals.
Similar to Haleon.
Royalties on all sales!
Thanks darkyhorse.had completely forgotten this. old age im afraid!
