"glasses free" do our resident derampers not understand? When I ask 16- 22 year olds about whether they would get 3D games if possible they say. "I like 3D but the glasses are a real pain. If we didn't have to wear the glasses.. wow..yeah, that would be great!!"
I saw a broadcast on Friday evening that said that ticket sales for 3D films are expected to fall for the first time in 4 years. At the Venice film festival there are 72 films being shown and marketed. Only 2 are 3D making this year the lowest for years.
I've followed this share for a few years now. Made a few £££ when it was going up and down in the mid 20's. I don't understand why it is now at 8p when all the news it releases seems to be positive. Could 8p be a good time to jump back in? Anyone any ideas?
2 September 2013 DDD Group PLC DDD extends TriDef(R) 3D license to JOMVS for glasses-free 3D mobile tablets Los Angeles, California: DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD; OTCQX: DDDGY), the 3D solutions company, has licensed its TriDef(R) 3D software to China's Chongqing JOMVS Photoelectricity Company Limited ("JOMVS") for its glasses-free 3D tablets. JOMVS produces a range of glasses-free 3D displays for Mobile, TV and PC products. Earlier this month DDD announced a license agreement with JOMVS for glasses-free 3D PCs and this new agreement expands their use of TriDef 3D to include mobile devices. JOMVS' new glasses-free 3D tablets will use the TriDef 3D Mobile solution to convert 2D photos and videos into 3D. The screens are high definition and provide 3D viewing without the need to wear glasses. TriDef 3D Mobile also includes a game solution that enablesover 60 of the latest Android mobile games, including "Angry Birds", "Blood and Glory" and "Cordy", to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even though they were not specifically developed for 3D. The JOMVS tablets will also be compatible with the Yabazam 3D Android mobile app, which provides the same original 3D programming available via DDD's Yabazam content portal. Yabazam has over 80 streaming 3D movie titles for viewing on 3D consumer devices. DDD will receive quarterly royalty revenues from JOMVS based on the volume of 3D units shipped. Chris Yewdall, chief executive of DDD, said: "JOMVS aims to be the biggest manufacturer of glasses-free 3D products in Western China by 2017. We are pleased to expand the scope of our license to tablets, further increasing the number of TriDef powered 3D devices in the market." Just wondering if someone could please explain what is the difference between the Dolby 2D to 3D conversion and DDD's? From what I can see contents needs to be coded to Dolby 3D and DDD runs algorithms that work with all content. Is Dolby a thread to DDD as they seem to have James Cameron on side.
So where to from here? Anyone seen a current research report post the trading update?
You're shorting this, right? But they could come out with another massive contract at any time, right? So isn't that one risky move, as you have no idea when news of another contract might suddenly come through?
The drop in share price seems pretty sensible. There is a massive drop in projected revenue. Peoplare claiming 3.7m in cash. Well it is 3.5m and its dollars. To make it worse that was at end December eight months ago. With the revenue dropping so much, how much cash is left now. Why did DDD issue a statement on June 11 saying trading was in line with forecasts and then issue a revenue warning just two months later.
Doubt very much it will fall that low. Glasses free 3D tablets are the next big trend, going to buy one myself to play any native 2D contents that can be converted to 3D without glasses with the DDD conversion engine. There is a long way to go in 3D yet as the glass free revolution will come sooner than you think. I would it be surprise if Samsung tablets also go that way soon.
This is now on a 3 1/2 year low. It has just dropped through a major support level and should fall much further now. Next stop should be around 7p. The combination of a profits warning (actually a revenue warning) and the BBC, ESPN and FOX Australia stopping broadcasting 3D adds up to a lethal cocktail.
Bit of a disappointing result for the half year.
There's some weird problems with feeds from the exchange at present. My own feed has some shares are being completely missed with end of day data.
July, 31, 2013 DDD Group, the 3D solutions company, has expanded its patent license agreement with Samsung Electronics, to allow Samsung to perform 2D to 3D video conversion for content that can be presented on 3D cinema screens. The patent license agreement allows Samsung to perform the conversion for both 3D cinema and 3D consumer devices using the comprehensive claims contained in the international patents covering 2D to 3D conversion that are owned by DDD. Separately, the company has also renewed its license agreement with Samsung Electronics to include DDD’s TriDef(TM) 2D to 3D technologies with Samsung’s 3D video processing chips that are used in Samsung Smart TVs and other Samsung 3D consumer products. The agreement has been extended until the end of 2015, an additional two and a half years, during which time DDD will continue to earn revenue from Samsung’s use of DDD’s automatic 2D to 3D conversion technology in Samsung’s Smart TVs and other 3D products. http://www.ddd.com/proactive-investors-hybridan-small-cap-wrap/2284/

Blackrock still had over 5m share at the end of June, we could assume that is them still dumping their holding. Management have done a poor job of lining up a buyer for such a large line that wanted to sell.
At last some news from them today, obviously someone buying in 1,200,000 today, only up from here
Getting Black Rock off the roof, they have been sitting on it for a while now.
big trade.....
The only news which I think is likely over the next few months is the trading update at the end of July, like we had last year, although even that is never guaranteed. Also CY stated recently (before license deal announced on 7th June) that DDD were negotiating with several potential license partners, and that he expected to sign at least 3 during this year. So reasonable to expect a further 2 license deals before the end of the year, although probability and timing of any such announcement is difficult to call. The introduction of Windows 8 this year has been a negative for DDD, as none of the initial PC's utilising Windows 8 will use TriDef conversion software. The company has said they believe shipments of PC's containing TriDef will fall this year, but hope that will be offset by sales of TV's, and tablets containing TriDef. I am yet to be convinced of the potential for sales of tablets with 2D to 3D conversion. Only time will tell.
My investment in DDD recently at 15p was based on my fundamental research which led me to the conclusion that it was undervalued. When I bought, I felt that the price had hit an unrealistic low, and without doing any detailed TA I bought a small speculative stake. I knew at the time that one of the disadvantages of investing in DDD is the lack of love and interest it seems to get from the market. The chart certainly seems to be building up to a breakout of some description, but with the lack of buying over the last few weeks, I decided my chances of making a significant profit are greater in IMM for the mean time. Should IMM get the Kumo breakout, I will consider top-slicing and parking some of the profit back into DDD, depending on the SP here at the time. I would appreciate your reading of the situation here and a view of your Ichimoku for DDD as I still haven't really got very far with plotting my own. I have been reading up on the art and studying others charts, and I am starting to get a grip on the thinking behind the different indicators. Got a lot on today so will probably not be able to reply to your email until tonight. Thanks again
DDD ready to rise DDD is currently cementing its place as the leader in the 2D to 3D conversion market, and TriDef is becoming the recognised as the standard technology solution. If this continues, and DDD signs a further 2 or more license deals this years as CY said they expect to, then IMO this will have to re-rate to a much more realistic valuation for a market leader in a booming market. My short-term target is 25p which could be achieved in a couple of trading sessions on good news RNS or a buy tip in one of the papers (look at AFC today, up 28%+) and medium-term I feel c.44p would be a fair valuation. All IMO so DYOR
Aim-listed DDD has licensed its 3D mobile technology to Chinese computer developer Hampoo for the 'world's first' 3D android tablet computer. Los Angeles-based DDD will receive quarterly royalty revenues from Hampoo based on the volume of 3D tablets the Shenzen-based company ships to retailers. DDD's TriDef technology allows Hampoo's new product to automatically convert 2D photos, videos and games into 3D images without the user needing 3D glasses. Hampoo's new 10.1-inch 3D tablets, using this technology, are being showcased at Computex 2013 this week in Taipei, the world's second largest computer exhibition. DDD said the new product is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2013. The company said the technology would enable over 50 of the latest popular Android mobile games, such as Angry Birds, Blood and Glory and Cordy, to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even though the games were not specifically developed for viewing in 3D format. Hampoo's Chief Executive Star Wang said: "With DDD's proven TriDef 3D solutions we can offer a full range of 3D entertainment and gaming with our new glasses-free 3D tablets, which is very important for our customers. We are committed to bringing more innovative solutions to the market in future." The Hampoo tablets are also compatible with DDD's soon-to-be-released Yabazam 3D Android app, which provides original 3D programming. Yabazam has over 80 streaming 3D movie titles for viewing on 3D consumer devices and that number is expected to grow significantly over the next year.
