It's being dragged down as there is no appetite to buy at the momemt. Once the news starts to flow that the world's biggest gold miner is spending more than double our MCAP to earn the right to 51 percent of our asset they will come and buy the next spike.

That's right we are in a JV with the world largest gold miner and after phase 1 we will still own 49 percent of their new super mine. IMO, That will mean a minimum 40m MCAP and more likely an 80m MCAP.

Check out today's MCAP. IMO 10 bagger minimum from these levels

Totally agree with you Bhargav would Explain why it’s being dragged down every day so if they own 30% it’s the highest share price in the year would all make perfect sense.

Newmont WILL make this worthwhile
30 Apr '19
Keep the faith guys. Newmont are still engaged with this and WILL make your investment worthwhile.

They've proved their interest already, as Per RNS

“In February 2019, Orosur received US$500,000, being the first of four half yearly cash payments from Newmont Mining Corporation as part of the previously announced Exploration Agreement with Venture Option for the Anzà project in Colombia.”

And

“In March 2019, Minera Anzà (Orosur’s Colombian subsidiary), received US$240,000 from Newmont Colombia S.A.S., a subsidiary of Newmont, to fund the property maintenance costs in Colombia during the first 6 months of the exploration period (October 2018 to March 2019).

Both confirm Newmont’s commitment to Phase 1, meaning IMO we can expect the drill to start turning soon as part of the US$10.0 million spending commitment detailed in the strategic agreement. "In Phase 1, Newmont may earn a 51% ownership interest by spending US$10.0 million in qualifying expenditures over four years and making cash payments to Orosur equaling a total of US$2.0 million during the first two years of the Phase 1 earn-in period. Upon Newmont’s completion of Phase 1, it may elect, in its sole discretion, to exercise its option to form a joint venture with Orosur.”

The Newmont / Goldcorp deal has nothing to do with timings here. No matter how big ANZA is its small fry to the largest gold miner in the world.

That's right we are in a JV with the world largest gold miner and after phase 1 will own 49 percent of their new super mine. That will mean atletstst a 40m MCAP and more likely an 80m MCAP.

My take is bit similar to Yelacoirii at this stage, I wanted to top up by another 500k by July, second thoughts, not interested, many other opps under my radar, particularly in the property market out of this realm..

Ceo and board has taken this forward very poorly for the SHs and the sentiment. Nothing much they can do to earn free lunches at the mercy of NMT.

I won't go as far as 10 beggar on any good news, this year or the next. They have far too much of Uruguay and Chile access baggage as it is.

6-8p at the most, if all goes well. Or a possible buy of Anza by NMT or other at a bit more premium to it. Having said that, TSX/ AIM rules may not go in SHs favour which seems very dodgy to me.

I really hope Newmont don't sit on this for years.
They have an interest in Continental's Buriticá project so hopefully Anzá will be the next focus. I'm averaging at around 5.1p here, so even with an 80% rise from the current price, I'd just break even.

It could be alot worse though.. some on here (including myself) are also invested in Lionsgold / Tally and haven't been able to access funds for about a year due to it delisting. It's a completely different company / scenario but I think as long as Newmont and potentially others have an interest in OMI/Anzá, we'll be okay in the long run.

I'm a bit over 8p. With hindsight if I knew this would end up here I wouldn't have brought so many. Could average down to say 5-5.50, but don't really want even more shares.

Unfortunately... I don't see anything changing in the short run. Newmont can take this very slowly. They probably don't even have to make a decision on spending $10m for another 18-24 months. I am a bit concerned what will happen to OMI in 18 months time when they get the final $0.5m through and yet could be in a further 2 years of limbo while Newmont make up their mind.

If Newmont do explicitly commit to the $10m though (which probably opens the door to phase 2), I'd expect this to easily ten bag from here. I don't expect there to be any indication of that in 2019 though.

At the same time the share price is so low, if Newmont pulled the plug, I'd like to think someone, somewhere would buy Anza up for a few million, just as something to put in your pocket.

3.5p is great average, mine is over 9p! you did well to maintain it so low. I wasn't expecting it to drag so low on NI report and 6 months of vacuum on NMT front news. I still won't say, news is pending round soon, it could be anyones guess, but, it could climb to decent 6-8 p on explosive news and possibly more within this year, I hope.

Shelly =- It was me who warned everyone after the last AGM to your disappointment. I'm locked in with what I can afford and its for 2-3 years after hearing it from the horses mouth and not the speculative frustration as we see up here.

I agree with some of your content and may you be lucky for 3rd strike at this Xmas as I know how it went for you for the previous two years at GGP and here.

Good luck!!

I can't wait for the drilling rns and watching the sentiment on this turning. The longer it takes to start drilling the more newmont have to spend in a shorter time period. And they will want to see just how big Anza can be before comiting to stage 2 and forming a joint venture where newmont will spend a further $20M

Lots of value to be released here.

I wouldn’t expect you to bhargav you have money locked in here that you couldn’t afford to have locked in I invested what I was prepared to lose witch is quite a few quid look at it logically newmont was with ggp for 6 months free of charge and walked how long have they been paying omi just to sit here? Until they have their other business concluded Anza data is what brought newmont in when this gets going it will go ballistic take advantage of the market dropping the sp to this ridiculous price and add add add yes newmont paid 5+p but one sniff of them buying under that price and the so goes ballistic that’s my view don’t expect anyone to share it

Agree vicjain. Bottom line, the sp shouldn't be this low. I understand that we all have to be patient but its very frustrating to see the constant decline in sp and lack of communication from OMI.

I agree things can take time and Newmont have been distracted i would agree, however Newmont paid over 5p a share and the sp is below 3p. It has been on a pretty much constant downtrend since Newmont got on board. Volume here is pitiful. The spread is crazy at times. There has been very little drilling news for months on end so i feel, like many i'm sure, rather let down by the OMI board about the present state of affairs here.

Can’t believe how impatient some people get relax newmont are paying money to omi to keep them going no company regardless of how much it has to throw around pays money to a minor for a laugh look at what newmont have had going on since they got involved the $10 billion dollar deal and the JV with Barrick Anza will get going when the major business is concluded they are not paying the money out for fun think about it

Yet again the share keeps dropping. Absolute crap since Newmont got on board here. If it were up me, i would probably sack the whole board. Very poor decision making from them has seemingly left shareholders with such a poor investment since the initial Newmont hype. Pityful volume and the last trade of 100k was from Friday and actually looks like a buy. Will hold however long it takes for this to turnaround but such a lack of news from OMI regarding drilling is definitely very poor comms from them and provides very little faith in their handling of things

Has anyone been in touch with the OMI team recently? When I last contacted them, I was informed that this is a medium-term stock. In terms of timescales, I have no idea how long we have to wait before it picks up. Doesn't seem like OMI is doing much to restore investor sentiment. I hope things really do pick up soon as it is getting ridiculous. Surely they are aware of this?
