Yes I think moaners will be sad it rose so strongly in November. Leave them. They can only see the dark.
FTSE 100 set for best month in 31 years. Some shorters a bit sad about this here?
It's crazy that an index full of dinosaurs can have such a pull on the general market.
Its the 100 companies that bake up the index snd there us little to invest in. The index is one if the weakest and unless there us good world news to poo it up in thd shirt term it just falls. It has become weaker year in year hence there is little interest. Hooe it can turn around but the jag is getting greater and while world indexes are reaching all time highs the FTSE 100 is 25% off. As an index you do take all into account
"Don't stack up"
That's a general brush of 100 companies
not the way to analyse winners from losers
The problem is that the companies making up the 100 index don't stack up compared to othe developed companies. Brexit hadnt helped but The government are doing their best to mess this up as well and unless they can get a deal the FTSE will be left behind.
Brexit is a problem.
When that's cleared off, the FTSE has a bright future.
Probably going to very different next five years
Ftse 100 up 800 points or 15% since October 30
Dow up 3300 or 12%
Also GBP / USD is up 3% in this time
Until this Brexit mess is sorted this index is going nowhere. Being a puppet of the DOW it gas had a good week or so but again the companies making up the index are rubbish hence this must fall again .
US biotech firm Modernaās breaking news about its Covid-19 vaccine with a 95% success rate
Regarding AZ science, I am confident it will be approved firstly it's done using chimpanzee as a virus vector - reliable - fridge storage, it's cheap. Best of all, side effect profile is good. Will be approved. Someone is hunting headlines in my honest opinion.
Americans likely approve Pfizer first, to get money for American company. AZ will be approved after a delay. This is what the USA is like. AZ is quicker cheaper more reliable. Pfizer has a great vaccine but it's very expensive and difficulties with storage potentially.
Just come on my Phone the telegraph reckon that AZN will not get approval from the US regulator for there vaccine ????I think to early to call what do u think ?
Your 1.8% garbage becomes 27.6% compounded on 5% yield plus add the 1.8% that equals 29.4 percent.
So basically it is 30% Vs 50% your world beating stocks.
How about educating yourself on perspective?
Negative perspective ends up a negative perspective!
You fail to count in dividends.
If you compound in 3-4% yield the "other" markets look less impressive. Besides, that's why FTSE has been a buy in 2020! Especially after the march crash you could easily gain 100% on selected shares. Can't do that so easily on Dax.
If you don't like it, go buy the overpriced Down or maybe you like the German bonds that rob you -0.75% per year!
If you compound a 5 percent yield FTSE share vs German bond robbing you of 0.75 per year, you begin to see the bonds are actually worse than FTSE.
You misleading with your garbage information gives a misleading picture. Good luck with your garbage whatever it is!
Here are china bonds for you:
In last weekās sale, the ā¬750 million in five-year notes was priced to yield minus 0.15%, which may seem low, but itās a better yield than the minus 0.75% on five-year German bonds.
In total, FTSE 100 companies employ 4,895,201 people . And they generate profits of over Ā£312 billion ($411 billion USD) from revenues of just over Ā£2 trillion ($2.64 trillion USD)
This collection of junk stocks is sitting at levels up 1.8% in 5 years while world markets at 50%. Laughing stock if the world and who would want to touch stocks on the FTSE 100. In the red again today while world stocks power on. Total junk to be avoided at all costs. Will take years for this index to even be looked at seriously
But I'm my opinion AZ vaccine has more realistic chance of being the first mass produced vaccine for C19
Markets went up because Pfizer had 90% success rate.
That's just a fact.
Yes I advise people re healthcare it's my job.
So I have to be aware.
I am daily dealing with some C19 queries, amongst other things.
cheapshare,
Did you look at the difference in the vaccines That i mentioned ???
Ok fair enough.
